My 14 yr old dachshund was having trouble with his legs and back and we were so worried. So my dad was able to take him in with no trouble, the vet was able to confirm he had ivdd right away. Gave him meds to take every month which helped him within a matter of a few days and recommended he get a shot to help even more with his ivdd. I can’t thank yall enough for helping my dad and my little guy Tod. 100% recommend :)

We have had great experiences at NDS animal hospital. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The doctor is direct, approachable, and helpful. They don't hit you with hidden fees or unexpected charges, either; the doctor will examine your pet, talk with you about your concerns, come up with a care plan, and then discuss each item with you to get your approval before treating your pet. After the appointment, they email you a convenient health card for your pet's medical records. They also quickly email you quotes for separately-scheduled procedures like dental cleanings or imaging, so you can consider it without feeling pressured and you know exactly how much it will cost. Same day (or next day) appointments are usually available when you need them, which is hard to come by on this side of town. We are usually in and out within 45-90 minutes, which is probably longer than average because we always have multiple pets with us for every appointment. They do primary and preventative care, spay/neuter surgery, and dental cleanings. Everyone in this office has always treated my family and our pets with respect, so I highly recommend them!

I just had an appointment for my cat, Oso and it was a great visit! There wasn’t a long wait and everyone was really nice. Dr. Chavira was able to diagnose the problem with Oso without tests needed to be done. Loved how everyone has shown so much love for him! This will be his new veterinary :)

Although our fur baby sadly passed, the staff and dr were beyond amazing!! From same day appointment, accommodating to the emergency & very detail instructions on care, the competitive prices. I literally called all around San Antonio, so happy I found them. It’s also such a clean and well kept office.. the list just go on!! I can see why they have 5 star review. A big thank you to Sasha. She was very professional and informative when I was at my most vulnerable. Thank you again to all the staff here

I brought my fur baby in for his annual checkup and shots today. I was very pleased with our experience. The office was very clean, esthetically pleasing and rustic modern. The front desk assistants were very helpful, friendly and so loving to my fur baby. Dr. Chavira was kind and very knowledgeable in his field of medicine. He explained the exam process and costs were disclosed before anything was done. They made us feel relaxed and at ease. Fees are in line with competition but very reasonable and location is conveniently close to my neighborhood. This will be Charley's new veterinarian💙

I have a big-ol Cane Corso and this was his first visit to NDS. The staff were welcoming and willing to let my big guy warm up to them rather than immediately muzzle him. He can be reactive to new people (only barking) and the staff were willing to let him relax and offered a multitude of treats to him. They listened to us (owners) and they took their time even tho it was close to closing!I feel so happy that all went well and this place was awesome 10/10 coming back.-pricing was reasonable-they saw us on super short notice!Thanks again!!Love, Rambo Rooskey& his mom dad

Our experience at NDS was the absolute best! We have a COVID and very spoiled fluffy baby who is very antisocial and afraid of everything external. Sasha was super welcoming and very careful and caring with our baby! She made him feel comfortable and actually excited to be at the vet! Been there twice and our baby loves it! NDS staff was extremely helpful and provided the care my pup needed after being diagnosed incorrectly at an emergency vet earlier in the week. My pup was still in pain and I decided to give NDS a call and they took him for the whole day and provided him with the care he needed and is now walking again after getting the right medications for his infection. I just went for his check up today and they are even referring us to a orthopedic to make sure he doesn’t have a further injury that caused an infection. 100% recommend

Jordan, the vet tech, and Dr. Chavira are both very kind and good with animals. Jordan is very reassuring and knowledgeable. My husband and I were a bit nervous for our 11 year old boy to get a teeth cleaning due to anxiety for him to be put under anesthesia, but Jordan assured us and ensured our boy was taken care of while he was there. He recovered in a dog run instead of just a crate and he does not mind going to the vet here at all! Would recommend coming here to anyone. Reasonably priced and very kind.

This place deserves nothing less than 5 stars. All the employees and doctor are extremely nice, attentive, and caring. They were able to see my dog (luke) as a walk-in. While the exam fee is slightly higher than what I've seen at other places, the service you and your pet receive are unparalleled. I will definitely be returning for any other care needed for my fur babies.

I recently took my puppies for their first vet visit, and I couldn't be happier with the experience at the veterinarian's office. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and they took great care of my fur babies. Very happy with the staff and the Vet here. If they can't get you in the same day, it will be next day. Everyone is knowledgable and eager to answer all the bazillion questions I have about my babies. My pets are treated extremely well. Services and prescription meds are very reasonable and they don't force you to accept all recommended services.

Took my kitten here for an exam and neutering service due to unavailable surgery services at my original vet. The staff are very welcoming/friendly and superb service! I highly recommend. They are direct with costs/fees associated with your visit. May be switching vets to bring in my other 2 dogs!

Very clean office, the staff greeted us, and were happy to talk to us. The assistant that helped with our cat, was knowledgeable and even let her hide in the cabinet. The Dr. is kind and well spoken. They tell you ahead of time what they want to do (procedure) and then hand you a print out of everything they said, with the costs for each procedure. They were not pushy at all, and allowed us to make a decision, based on their suggestions.They even showed us a new way to break up her hair mats, and even broke a few up for us. She has long hair.I trust them, and I am confident that you will, too.

I found NDS Animal Hospital by the reviews, and they have earned good ones! Our old vet could never get our pets in for acute issues, they just didn’t seem too concerned about managing our fur babies well-being. When our senior dog had a bout of pancreatitis, and our vet couldn’t be bothered to see her, I reached out to NDS and they got us in fast despite us not having an established relationship. They diagnosed the pancreatitis (running the labs in a few minutes while I waited) and sent us home with the necessary medicine and treatment plan. Thanks to their care and concern our sweet girl is back to herself. We’ve made the switch to get all our pet care at NDS!

I have been coming for a few months now. I originally brought my fur baby for a wellness exam and was very happy with our experience. Dr. Chavira is very attentive and always answers my questions. The front staff is super friendly and welcoming even when my fur baby has accidents. We found our forever vet and highly recommend this place.

There is a reason this place has consistent 5 star reviews. Long read ahead. Tl;dr great staff, doctor and prices. All 3 of our pets had to come here within a 2 month period. They were all treated appropriately and promptly. Our cat had some GI issues and Dr. Chavira prescribed some probiotics and she was back to normal very quickly. One of our dogs went to another vet for bad breath and they discovered a grade 3 heart murmur. This terrified us, the other vet (who is a big chain) wanted us to run a bunch of tests and get an echocardiogram. We're not vets and we want the best outcome for our dog, so we agreed and scheduled them out a few weeks. These tests were around 2000 dollars. Thankfully, we brought our dog to Dr. Chavira for a second opinion. He had done so well on our cat, so why not? Dr. Chavira told us that all of the tests the other vet prescribed were unnecessary; because, if those tests were inconclusive, the next step was the echocardiogram. So why not just get the test that mattered the most and would have definitive results. He wssnt trying to take our money, he genuinely wanted us to save our money and only get what is necessary. The best course of action was some blood work and the echocardiogram. We agreed, they gave us the quote and sure enough, was way lower, around 900ish dollars. Yes, allot of money, but these prices come with owning an animal and ensuring they get the best care. They took care of her and her heart is OK. Our 2nd dog had some stomach issues and concerned us when we saw blood in her stool. Sure enough, we take here to NDS Animal hospital and within a week she is back to normal. The front staff and vet techs were also amazing, they treated our animals with respect. The woman at the front desk always called us for updates and emailed us our invoices, we never had to keep calling back. If you value your pets life and want the absolute best care for them at a reasonable price. Come to NDS Animal Hospital.

Can't say enough about NDS. They took us in w/o appt one morning after we thought our pup swallowed a squeaker from his toy. They quickly got xrays done and before rushing to suggest surgery as an option, they made sure the radiologist could confirm and then told us our options. Dr Chavira was honest and open about our options, including procedures that could be done elsewhere. So happens the most effective and cheapest option was surgery with them and everything went wonderfully (they even showed us the squeaker!). They've gained a long term customer and we appreciate all their help.Update: We went back with a concern and it turned out to be nothing, but they still were awesome with us the whole time. Super great full we found this place.

Just adopted a stray and needed her checked out. The Dr and his assistant Shelby were very through and worked with me on a medical plan as we discovered she has heart worms. Difficult but not fatal. I am planning on this clinic to service my other two dogs and cat.
