YAY! Finally found a dog store in SA that has a good selection of products, great customer service and isn't ridiculously overpriced & understocked! 🎉Can't wait to make Mike's a go-to stop for our dog. I'm a low maintenance gal, but my dog has a generally sensitive stomach, so we love stores that have Goats Milk & some more safe chews & treats for when we feel like treating him. Also love a dog store that we can visit for stimulus in the middle of the summer when it's too hot to walk outside.

My 12 year old autistic son Aiden really loved Mike’s Dog Store in Alamo Heights.It was absolutely stimulating for him and though we were there shopping for the puppy, Aiden found a few toys he liked for himself.

Love this place. This is one of the last places in town where we can find nice seasonal collars for our 50# dog. There are a lot of places that only cater to smaller dogs but Mike’s has stuff for every dog as well as awesome treats and healthy food options! Not to mention the staff is endlessly kind and helpful.

My dog doesn’t understand why he can’t just walk into this store anytime. We passed by early morning before opening and he refused to leave the entrance. I had to pick him up so we could continue the walk, lol. All that to say 5 stars from both the human and canine :-)Great selection of items for your pet and the staff are very knowledgeable. I purchased an excellent gentle leader harness here last year, and also come regularly for chews and treats.This is the neighborhood store you dream of. Lots of character, the staff will remember you, and the service is top notch.

I absolutely love this store. They really care about you and your dog. Wide selection of top brand dog food, at a decent price. Great selection of chews and treats for your pup! They even gave me a super cute pupoy welcome pack with different sample bags of dog food that helped me find the food my dog liked best!! And they have a great variety of toys you normally don't find in generic pet shops. Love this place and have recommended them to every dog owner I know. 😊

This little store is such a gem! The employee was attentive and informative. She took the time to help me find the right puppy food and also educated us on each choice. The store was stocked with plenty of food choices, treats, accessories, and an abundance of toys. They were also kind enough to provide us with a new puppy kit that included several sample packets of food. This really helped us find the best puppy food for our munchkin. They had great service and its a bonus that we get to support a small business. Definitely check it out!

If you love your pup or kitty as much as I do this is the place to go. Everyone that works here from is friendly and knowledgeable plus your are supporting a local business. All of their food and treat lines are best you can get for your pet. Also have everything you may need for initial pet owner from dog beds to food and water bowls. Do yourself and your pup a favor and skip the chain stores and shop here. You will not regret it.

The owners and employees are the nicest people and gave me the coolest little bag of samples for my new puppy. They have the most bizarre and wonderful things for dogs. Some of the prices are a bit high but all of their products are high quality and it’s a very well put together store. You’ll be lucky if you’re greeted by the fluffy little grey dog that hangs out when you get there.

This is the best pet store in town. They stock many amazing items at a very fair price for the quality. This store does not sell cheap junk. As a bonus everyone is super friendly, they’ll happily order what they don’t normally stock, the communication about the products is clear and well informed, and they really love pets!

I bought a rawhide collar here for my big boy, he undoes non welded loops for tie outs and I was able to finally find something that'll hold his pulling here at Mike's. Great people, quality products. 💪

Great little pet store that I never even knew about. Was leaving the pearl last weekend and had the pup with me. We stopped in and picked up a nice new harness at a good price. The people working that day were super friendly and nice. Will definitely be returning for the nice bowls I was eye-balling!

Huge fan of Mike's Dog Store! I take my two Rottweilers there regularly and they love because they always receive lots of love, attention, AND treats from the staff. Everyone there is very kind and knowledgeable about the products. Mike's also offers a rewards program which is a good perk for frequent customers.

The moment I go I was pleasantly received by a friendly staff. The store is cozy and filled with a selection of unique and non commercial exotic brands of dog food and treats and so many goodies. All wonderful and beautiful to behold. Definitely a great find for the dog owners who really want their babies to have quality products.

Was able to offer the option of the store ordering an item for us to purchase and pick up. A lot of cute items for dogs, and a good variety or collars. Didnt buy any of the food or treats, as I was already stocked up!

Love this place of business. My dogs eat better than me! I buy Acana here on a regular basis and the prices are comparable to online stores. Plus, we get every 12th bag free and free treats for the pups every time we get a bag. Shop here if you have pets!
