The breakfast was excellent! We had some pancakes that tasted like homemade, really good. The omelet was well, but the potatoes were the best part.It is located in the Village with a nice ambiance.

First I want to note the good things. The customer service was amazing. We informed them that it was our first time there and they made their recommendations which we decided on, ordering the avocado toast and chicken and waffles. Our kiddos got the pancake kids plate and they were even kind enough to sub an omelette at no additional charge, instead of scrambled eggs. We also ordered 2 coffees and 2 orange juices for the kids, and when we were brought all our food, we thought we had to still wait on the OJ but after about 10mins into our meal, I went back to the counter to ask and they told me “oh it’s the ones in the fridge,” which I didn’t know, but no biggie, they were kind about it.The food was good but was lukewarm and not hot and a bit pricey for the serving size. My avocado toast had a very small spread, in which I’m used to a thicker spread.I think this cafe has the potential to be something more because our coffee was delicious, the boys loved their kids breakfast plates and they are very friendly. All in all, we spent about $90 for a family of 4 breakfast which was the same amount we spent at a Riverwalk restaurant with margaritas for dinner.

Every year, I visit San Antonio for a music teacher convention and every year, I always visit this Cafe once. It's so quiet, the historic village is so pretty to look at while walking to this Cafe, and I enjoy the smells and cutely decorated place while I have my items.I usually get an iced coffee with a flavor shot and my most favorite breakfast item is the croissant breakfast sandwich (it has a different name than that but it's literally one of the most amazing items to get).My colleague and I always love visiting before visiting convention and highly recommend you should, too.

This place just needs to revamp everything. We left feeling like it was a half-baked attempt at a diner (we had breakfast). The eggs felt rewards and soggy, the potato wedges were cold, as were the refried beans. The juice was in containers in the cooler, the ice or the water was scooped out of a camping cooler (ick) and the cutlery was plastic, with the plates paper.“Barry” was even there, but again, I just felt like this ended up being an uninspired mess. The waitstaff was a bit snippy too - sort of like there was somewhere else they wanted to be.

Went to San Antonio for my birthday and wanted a good breakfast. This place did not disappoint. It’s literally a hidden gem on the river walk. The line was long but moving. Every person working was polite. There was a gentleman walking around asking everyone if they needed anything and making sure us people in line were aware of specials. Had to be the owner or manager. Whomever, he was very nice. We got our food I had the French Toast Special and my boyfriend had the Breakfast brisket sandwhich. Both were amazing we kept taking a bit of each others plate. Definitely wouldn’t mind a brisket French toast special (wink wink). Honestly will be my go to breakfast spot when visiting San Antonio again. 20/10 highly recommended

After spending a morning shopping in La Villita, we asked one of the store owners where we could grab lunch, and they recommended the cafe.We loved the immediate greeting from the staff. We ordered the Brisket wrap, and wow! It was delicious. Their kids loved the chicken and waffles. We ordered a few more items, and everything was hot and delicious. We were so hungry that we forgot to take photos but we will next time. The staff kept checking on us and bringing us refills. We will be back! Once we were leaving again, we were acknowledged and thanked for coming. This was the perfect spot to grab lunch before we headed back on the road to head home.

JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET THE CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! Lol but no seriously it was so good! Fruit that comes on the side is so fresh and juicy! Chicken was hot and crispy! Waffles were fluffy and yummy! I got the pancakes and bacon and eggs! It was delicious as well but my husbands chicken and waffles had me so jealous! Very nice people and great atmosphere! And if you see the one legged pigeon outside please give him a small snack! XD

So glad I came here! Came for breakfast, unfortunately they stop doing breakfast tacos at 11, but luckily they have a full breakfast menu ! I got the Santa Anna Rancheros plate and it was delicious. Some of the best salsa I've had. I am from the northeast, however, so take my salsa opinion with a grain of salt. I also got their iced coffee which was amazing and smooth. I also left with a Strawberry lemonade, which was good but very sweet, I think I'd get a normal one next time. They also have a little bar inside and some Togo alcoholic beverages in their fridge (mainly cider and beer). Everyone was so friendly and welcoming I'm very happy to have stopped by.

Quick and Yummy Breakfast Tacos!Just a short walk upstairs from the Riverwalk, La Villita Cafe has plenty of seating, reasonable prices, and fast service. ☕I ordered the Sausage and Egg Breakfast Taco and the Brisket and Egg Breakfast Taco; the brisket was a little too salty for a breakfast taco, but they were both tasty with the salsa. 🌮There's a variety of coffee beverages, water, and juices, as well. 🥤Dietary restrictions: Gluten-Free Options Available

The staff was incredible! Everyone was very attentive. Each table they passed they were asking if anyone needed anything. They stayed busy cleaning, taking plates away, and were extremely kind. The food had great portion sizes and the presentation was very good. The prices were very reasonable as well. Food and drinks definitely needs more flavor. But I really can’t get over how magnificent the staff was.

I'll start by saying the manager did try to correct the issue, but it was just too little too late. The food was quite awful and sloppily put together. They were very busy at the time. The fish and chips tasted like a bowl of salt. The peanut butter jellies were missing most of the peanut butter and had jelly globs all over. The employees seemed to be afraid of getting the manager and they were all afraid of upsetting the cook. They seemed to fight in the kitchen with all customers present. I would have loved to have a refund instead of sloppy peanut butter jellies

This cafe is nestled in one of the most charming and historical parts of downtown San Antonio. As a former employee at this I can attest to the consistency of quality food and service provided by the owner Barry and his staff. Was a pleasure and a privilege to come in as a guest and simply enjoy the food and fresh mimosas. The cafe manager Leslie runs a tight ship so the service was expedient and far exceeded expectations.

We ordered breakfast with coffee. Breakfast was ok, but overpriced. Coffee was luke warm and our cups immediately started leaking. Rather than replacing our coffees, they just put our cups in a second larger cup. When we were finishing up the cup below had gotten a lot of coffee drips in it and poured all over me and my white top was ruined. I had to walk all the way down the riverwalk to change into something else.Do not recommend.

Super cool atmosphere with a friendly staff and great food. This place was a diamond find for breakfast.. everyone with us enjoyed the food and atmosphere and it was a breath of fresh air instead of the corporate cold places around the area.Kid-friendliness: Great family atmosphere with accommodations for high chair

UPDATE TO BELOW REVIEW: the owner reached out to me and did refund me the full amount of ticket. The food was way over priced and poor quality. I got the avocado breakfast and it tasted like the avocado was old and not fresh. My son ordered the Alamo Benedict which was suppose to come with either ham or bacon, he got none. My daughter’s brisket, well it tasted like it was seasoned with smoke flavor seasoning and was not really smoked. Our food was also served cold. We paid $55 for trash that we could have bought ourselves and prepared and tasted better and better quality. I was going to say something, but there was another couple who asked for a refund due tot heir food being served cold while me and my kids watched on. They would not give him a refund and instead told them toCall the owner. I will never eat at this place again. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The food was amazing! Was visiting San Antonio and wanted a good place for lunch/breakfast and La Villita Cafe was better than expected. The employees were very attentive and helped us with our order. We got the Egg and chorizo burrito and added potatoes. We also got the Santa Ana Rancheros plate and the eggs and frijoles were very delicious! Oh and we got pancakes with strawberries & the pancakes were soft, bouncy & delicious! Very authentic Mexican food, coming from a Mexican hahaI recommend this place if you’re looking for very good and authentic Mexican breakfast/lunch!
