Service is polite and helpful, especially since I was there to sell some books - cash offers are fair, as always. Love browsing through the old books 📖 & new ones at this store I can stay for hours just looking at all the variations of types of books and games, puzzles, bookmarks and other unique one of a kind finds. It’s a treasure trove of great books and items…..book related and not book related. Visit one! You will not be disappointed. I bought a Christmas gift 🎁 card online Monday it was super easy and very convenient.

This place is used book heaven. I love how sprawling this location is. Don't forget the second floor! The building is admirably old and I'm in love with the layout. There's plenty of space to maneuver around for the days they get busy. I always find amazing books to take home. There's such a huge variety of books - it makes me so happy just to walk around and see what I can find. I prefer to park behind the building and walk inside using the back entrance.

I am so beyond sad this location will be closing. I love Half Price Books and shop at many of your SA locations but this is the best one. I ways looked forward to visiting and spending hours browsing the shelves. I always found something and it was a pleasure to hunt for the books I was looking for. It makes me sad to lose fantastic bookstores like this one.

Recently, I came across a viral Facebook post showing this bookstore disposing of books instead of donating them. It's disheartening to see valuable resources wasted, especially when there are so many who could benefit. I hope they reconsider their practices, especially if they are benefiting from tax breaks related to donations.

I always like visiting this store when I am in San Antonio. In fact, it is my favorite Half Price Books location. They always have a great selection of books and I always buy a book or two when I visit.

Even though this particular 1/2 price doesn't carry a lot of D&D stuff, it's my favorite because it's in an old 2 story house and the smell of books and creaky steps has a wonderful ambiance.

Excellent selection of reading materials, music, and quirky gifts for a very reasonable price. I especially enjoy the various chairs laid throughout the store so you can peruse at your comfort. Friendly and warm customer service. A true San Antonio gem.

I really like the location, it's super cute. They sell hard to find VHS tapes which was cool. Ended up spending about 70 dollars here.

it's closing in May and it's sad to see, my favorite area (upstairs) is now closed to the public so everything is stuffed down stairs and it's a bit difficult to find everything and there's no longer many options left which makes sense but still very sad since this was my favorite location. ):

This Half Priced Books location is as good as the others with a large selection of various items. Always love it visiting these stores!The reason why I gave this location 4 stars is because of the lack of signage to direct where parking is. The parking spots are located behind the location, and it is hard to spot the parking entrance; it entrance to the parking spots is right next to a deli.

Great books, but the staff all wore scowls like it was a fashion item. My daughter tried to interact, be helpful, and make jokes to no avail. Absolutely not the place to bring a child that just simply wants to be friendly.

Had no idea I'd walk into a store that seemed to have so many books! I went as my sibling asked for old field guides for Christmas and found plenty along with other books about birds. I will definitely go back for myself soon! A good amount of books that I have on my to read list like Agatha Christie, romance, sci fi etc. (PS. I happened to be behind the last guy who reviewed actually-- the daughter was asked how she'd pay for the many books at the counter (obviously too young to pay) and the cashier didn't play along. I can't speak for the rest of the employees, but I think the cashier was caught off guard. Not his fault really.)

It's a wonderful place to sell your old books and get the used books (half price or sometimes more!!!).If you are a collector, this is a place you might find treasures. They have books collection from the 1800's too...You'll find used Vinyls, DVD, CD, Audio Books, Board Games, Activities Books, Puzzles, Cards (some are brand new, soo...go check it out and you might be lucky)

Very helpful clerks, clean, well-organized, with amazing prices.The store feels like one reading nook after another. It's cozy without feeling small.Clear signs make it easy to find what I'm looking for.Lots of variety for gifts, from collectibles and fan t-shirts, games, puzzles, toys, CDs, records, Blu Ray, DVD, journals, books, computer games and more.They have full season disc collections of some of my favorite shows for under $10!Note: parking is in the back, and half the store is upstairs. I didn't see an elevator.

Huge selection of books, records and movies. Super friendly and helpful staff that will help you find the book you are looking for, even if they dont have it in stock, they will order it for you. I love the little gift options they have, journals, bags, pens, novelties and collectibles. I love stopping in to check out their revolving selection of books.
