Great little mom and pop shop. They're always willing to help. And they are improving and making actual bioactive and beautiful setups for all the animals. It looks awesome and I am always happy to step foot in here.The animals are well cared for. The cages are clean and with the updates and beautiful decorations It is a joy to shop here for those that want to avoid the big box stores.

I bought a Green Cheek Conure there today. 4/4/24. The store had lots of good stuff. The staff were very knowledge. The cages were pretty clean. The service was impeccable and Ann was pretty cute. I might name my new bird after her.

This place is great! I came to get crickets for my leopard gecko because I’ve had bad luck with finding high quality insects at other places in town, and they did not disappoint. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and super willing to answer any questions or show you animals. Will definitely be coming back for my gecko, dogs and future pets.

The people who run this store are knowledgeable and very friendly. They have an array of pets and pet supplies, I was blown away by the variety of fish!! Lots of exotic pets here! I did notice ick on some of the fish but alot of stores have been having that lately so maybe a supplier had an outbreak, just keep an eye out when you're purchasing fish. I will definitely be back

Went to get feeder mice and a few things for my dogs. Great customer service from all the staff. I love how clean and well taken care of the animals are really makes me feel comfortable purchasing live animals. They have a quality and friendliness you can’t get at big chain pet stores! Definitely recommend to anyone who needs any pet or pet supplies they have it all!

I brought feeder from them a few times and the last time one of the rats died before I even got home with it in 70 degree weather with a max 10 min drive… the smell was horrific. The animals were never taken care of. Dead fish in tanks that have been rotting. Sick small mammals. Some of the reptiles looked to be in distress.I work for a vet clinic up the road and we always would see animals that came from there that were extremely malnourished and sick to the point we would have to put them down. The store would not even acknowledge that it could have been there problem.For what you get this store is extremely over priced and under educated for what they claim to be.I’m still surprised they are not shut down. It amazes me that nothing has been done about the environment these animals are being kept in. I drew the line when I saw roaches on the desk and all over the floor.All I can say is they need to be closed down ASAP

Forever pets has been my go to for decades, they're friendly and do everything in there power to ensure their animals are safe and well fed. I have never had an issue in my 10 plus years going there. I highly recommend 👌 they also have a great selection on reptiles 😍🐍

We love going to Forever Pets!My husband and I would always be at Forever Pets in our High School Days. The Owners are so sweet and nice.We adopted our first pet together at Forever Pets she was a Minx cat .We enjoy going by with our kids and are hoping to get another pet soon from there.

My husband and I stopped in to check out their reptile selection.Upon entering the store, it smelled awful. I understand it is a pet store, but it smelled as if something was rotting. And it was fairly warm inside the building as well.The two lizards in the front of the shop by the entrance are in an enclosure that is way too small for their size (you dont need to be an animal expert to figure that out), and they didn't seem to have any sort of lighting either. Those poor lizards deserve a much better enclosure.The store's parrot seemed to be in distress. Half its feathers had been plucked.The woman at the front counter never greeted us when we entered. We didn't come across any employees either in the 15 minutes we were walking around the store.Also, I question the signage about tortoises being flipped over, claiming that it's okay, and they'll right themselves. Sure, it's possible for them to right themselves, but it isn't good for the turtle or tortoises, it can lead to stress and make it hard for them to breathe, possibly leading to death. Always turn the tortoise and turtles right side up if you see them flipped on their backs.I also noticed a lot of gnats and flies on the food of several animal enclosures.Personally, I would not purchase an animal from this establishment given that the care of the animals seems a bit lacking, the disregard of the customers entering and exiting the store, and the smell of the place. It just doesn't seem like there is much care involved in this establishment.That is my honest opinion of this establishment.

Finally after a lot of research and a recommendation from a friend, we went to forever pets and got our first baby Beardie.They were so helpful and informative. They set us up with everything we needed and we are loving our new addition to the family!

I bought my cute little hedgehog here. :) He was $280 I believe. They had a huge selection of animals and cats roaming around the place. I read the reviews about animals not being taken care of, so I'm glad I bought the hedgehog the first day they came in.

I am truly sorry for all the pets in this establishment. While walking through with an interest to purchase a new friend for my guinea pig, Mochi, I saw the raw horrors of this place. As you walk in you can already notice how the place is not kept clean. The skinny piggies were scratched up, more than half of the beta fish were dead, live fish were consuming the dead, the snakes were in enclosed small tanks, the parrot that has been there forever is still plucking its feathers out, the tiny birds were crowded in small tanks, large fish were in small tanks, and honestly many more. I had previously gone for my guinea pig Mochi and I'm so happy I took him out of that horrible place. My heart aches to see these poor animals be treated this way so I must spread as much word as I can. I do recall the last time I went I had talked to one of the most real employees there, they would tell me how the management would treat these poor animals terribly, and they never did anything to help them and how he wished they would. I'm sad to discover he was no longer working there. Thanks for taking time to read this post... I truly wish I could do something about this, but sadly I cannot...

Family owned business , it's so cute and has so many things I bought my turtle there and its very healthy still (2 years I think ) update : the turtles been alive for 6 -7 years still super healthy. I'm happy that the owner who has now passed chose that one for me (it's now rehomed (as of yesterday ) since it got to big for my apt but my friend is happy to also have the turtle. (same turtle in pic I couldn't find the very first one but I did find this one and the most current one )

This place, the very first time walking in here, I was amazed, in awe, and immediately fell in love with everything. I loved seeing how the aquarium was structured, I enjoyed watching the birds, the mammals, reptiles, invertebrates, I immediately knew this place cared for return business and for these living creatures as well. The pictures I’m posting are a few of the new friends I received from here, the store owners along with their employees have an abundant of wisdom and experience with so many critters. One particular employee, I think his name was Brian or Chris, is literally a walking Library, I’m forever thankful for him for all tips he passed on to me. I unfortunately had to move because of the Pandemic, but every time I get an opportunity, I try to swing by, and for sure recommend this place to anyone and everyone who would like to care for these animals as well. I hope to continue supporting this business, despite the passing of Mr. Louie, a magnificent human being who touched and taught the lives of so many people from what I observed in the little time period I was in San Antonio. His knowledge on everything animals was profound, he was hilarious, and artistic too. When I purchased my hedgehog from there, I commented on the mural, I praised how well kept this “Mom & Pop” Pet-store was managed, and I observed on how he continuously would inform customers on different products so they would spend a little less, which would annoy his wife, whom would start arguing with him in their native language, (which was so cute and adorable), he would then say, “don’t listen to her” or “you’re lucky, I have to live with her”, Lol. All in all, this place while living in San Antonio, brought me so much joy, true happiness, wisdom, and treasured memories I hope to continue sharing for many more years to come. This place has huge variety of animals looking for a home. They have everything you would need for your pets toys, food, tanks, pet vitamins a much more. Everyone is very nice and they have a lot of information on every kind of animal. I have been here a hundred times and I'm never disappointed.

I don't buy pets often... which makes it hard to judge a pet store. That being said, the staff were beyond friendly and caring in their help and our chinchilla has found a loving home.

When I walked into this place, the older Asian lady at the register didn't look up or say hi, which to me was pretty rude especially hearing the door ring when people enter. The store itself was really cool and had a diverse selection of pet supplies. Getting to the pets though, my heart just goes out to them because they don't all look healthy. We saw one by the chinchilla that looked neglected, even though I'm sure they may not be, but the staff here just don't look like the kind to care for them the way they truly deserve.The one Hispanic guy was so rough with the snake we were thinking of buying and they mentioned her being stressed out by a move, but I can see it stressed out from the way they were handling her! It's definitely one of those places where you just want to buy all of the pets just so they won't have to care for them. The snake kit I was going to buy was $100 more than the snake itself so I had to pass but I'm still debating on getting it tomorrow if it's still there because they deserve better.

Love this place!! Practically aged with it. I wanted to be a Veterinarian when I was a little girl, so my funday was the trip to this pet store. I would walk around and visit with each animal. The owner was so patient and so kind he would walk around with me and educate me on new animals. Then he showed me his new artwork or project. This place was the coolest.I got older and became a first-time owner of 2 ferrets… again so the patient practically felt like family at this point not just a customer. I’m sure they knew how nervous I was asking a million questions. They walked me through every detail when caring for them. The most important medicine is love and attention. My babies were 8 and 12 yrs when they passed of old age. They lived longer than expected.The passion and love this place gaves.Driving by always brings a warm feeling to my heart.My pup will be 15 years old this year. This is the second time I have got a feeder mice from forever pet, and it has chewed through the brown paper bags they put them in before I can even get home, almost caused a car accident. Will not be buying from them again.

Forever pets has a very wide selection of fish, rodents, and reptiles. It has definetly geared itself to more the non-standard pet. Along those lines, the place is very sparse in the conventional dog and cat options. Overall, loved the selection, a few of the fish tanks could have been more clean

You have been going here for years this place is great and is a pet store like any other pet stores they will have different smells just like when you go to the zoo I have button my red eye tree frogs from here and I supply them with the crickets they offer too this store has been one of my favorites to go to I always enjoy and my kids do too district 1 needs to worry about more on the roads and fixing them especially in my neighborhood but anyway that's a whole different subject All I got to say is this place is awesome in a great place to take family and friends.

We have bought several gerbils from here and supplies and have always been very happy with them. We currently had a happy accident and 2 of our gerbils got pregnant. I called the store and was told they would be able to tell the gender in a few weeks for us and also take any extra gerbils off our hands. I really do not want to go thru the trouble of trying to house the babies. We have 6 babies with more on the way! Anyways always a great experience bringing my kids to look at the animals and get gerbils.

There’s a lot of exotic species offered here and I loved the store cat! I’d give it 5 stars but it needs just a bit more upkeep. All in all though, definitely worth a visit if you’re a pet aficionado or novice lover.
