If you're an owner to an anxious pup, you know how hard it can be to drop off your dog for a groom. After paying entirely too much at our previous spot, (woof gang) I was willing to try somewhere else. For The Love of Dogs just made sense-- same groom for almost half the cost. I was not disappointed. My border collie is usually an anxious mess without us (my partner and I) but surprisingly was in high spirits when dropping her off. Not sure if it's because it was women owned and operated or because the floors were cushy and soft. Whatever it was, I felt at ease leaving her there for the duration of the ~3 hours. During pick up, they said her paw pad trim was complimentary! (usually a $15 additional fee) That was enough to seal the deal as our new go-to pet grooming salon. Jamie was our stylist and we will continue booking services through her. Thank y'all!!

We love the groomers here! Amy does such an amazing job with our doodle! I'm pretty picky when it comes to groomers and how they cut and she does AMAZING. She always listens to what we want and makes our pup look his best! This will always be our go-to grooming salon!

Jamie is an outstanding groomer. We have been grooming our two goldendoodles with her for a few years now and as soon as we heard she had moved to this salon we followed her there. She is so sweet, loving, and gentle with our dogs. We have tried several groomers in the past and she is one of the best by far. Our two dogs absolutely love her! I highly recommend her for your pups next groom!

Gabby is so wonderful and patient with our bratty pups! She gave our Ruffian his first bath as a puppy and he crawled all over her!!! I think he’s a bit better now. Coco is a nut and Gabby welcomes her every time. I wouldn’t take our fur babies anywhere else!

Our fur baby had his first grooming today with Gaby. I have to say we loved this place. The customer service is amazing. The name of the place says it all. Thank you Gaby for all the love you gave our fur baby today, he left this place with a big smile on his face and we were extremely happy with the service. Rest assure he will be back soon.

I love this place! Leah and her team do a great job in taking care of my two pups and making them look even more cute than when they walked in! Everyone is always so nice & my dogs do better here than at other groomers! Definitely recommend.

I was unsure about leaving a review because the staff has been nice but also, dog parents should feel comfortable leaving their pets in the hands of someone else. I will admit, we have a very anxious guy but the first time we visited, we didn't have any issues. I wanted to try another groomer but they were double the price so I chose to come back. We were able to book an appointment fairly quickly which was awesome. Drop off went smooth and everything was fine until I received a text a few hours later saying my pup had developed a small hotspot due to having kennel anxiety. I asked how bad it was and if it was bad enough to where we needed to go to the vet. I was told it wasn't serious just a little scuff. I get it, these things happen. So I picked him up at the time they told me to be there and they showed me where the spots on his head and nose were, which didn't look bad at the time, I could barely see the spot on his head, but instead of apologizing they just told me next time he needs the vip treatment (didn't know that was even a thing) and I went on my way. I felt a little weird about the whole thing but my pup seemed fine so I let it go. However, a day and a half later, I can actually see the spot. It is in fact not a hot spot but an abrasion. It was open and draining last night and today the spot is even larger and still draining. So all of that to say, the reason for my review is my concern for how long these pups are unsupervised in these kennels that are clearly unsafe. Our guy sleeps in his kennel at home on his own choice but I do admit he gets a bit anxious when left alone. My concern again is, how long these babies are sitting in kennels being ignored. If they're clearly not adapting, then why not call the parents to pick them up and make an appointment that doesn't involve them being kenneled? I'm not looking for any sort of compensation as I'll probably end up having to take him to the vet to get antibiotics but I only want clients and ownership to be aware of what's going on in this establishment.

We love For the Love of Dogs Grooming! They groomed all four of our dogs and they loved it! Our shih tzu, Dottie, who is not a fan of groomers was surprisingly mellow and not scared when I picked her up. Our Yorkies haircuts came out so cute! We are going to recommend them to all of our friends!

After over a year of trying different groomers we found Maddy & our search ended there over a year & a half ago. We have been going to her ever since. Maddy takes the time to make your pup comfortable and also puts work into what she does. Onyx gets excited every time we go to get her groomed cause she knows she’s in good hands. Maddy knows how to get that doodle fluff just right! So glad we found her & that she is our groomer now💚

This is the only place I will take my golden doodle, Teddy to get groomed! He went to one other place for his initial “puppy” groom and was reported to not behave well with the groomer. We came to Maddy next, and Teddy was reported to behave like an angel! We’ve been a client ever since, and even though i’m sure Teddy doesn’t always act like angel, they have a great relationship and he LOVES going to get groomed here.Apart from Maddy being great with dogs, she of course is also an amazing groomer! Teddy always looks so good, feels super soft, and smells great when he comes home. Maddy is great at listening to what you want and giving advice if you need it. I’ve never been disappointed with his groom, and I always look forward to the cute photos she sends with seasonal backdrops.Even if you’re not looking for a groomer, the store has tons of cute apparel and stuff for the pups like bones and toys. I’ve interacted with many of the staff and they’re all very pleasant and always ready to help. I recommend this place to any San Antonio dog owner!

We always have a positive experience when taking our dogs here. The groomers are wonderful and kind, and they do an excellent job cleaning and grooming our dogs. The bandanas are a fun addition. The boutique storefront always has cute gift items too!

We love For The Love of Dogs. Maddy and staff are so good to my Riley. He is a 55 pd Australian Labradoodle and is a handful but Maddy has so much patience with him. He always looks great when I pick him up and she does exactly what I ask for every time. We moved 25 miles away from their location but would not think of changing groomers. Getting our second doodle in May and she will be going to Maddy too.

I have to give a big shout out to For The Love Of Dogs Pet Boutique & Grooming!! Aspen & Boudin went in today for their grooming with Gabby and she was fantastic. In fact everyone there is just awesome. They know Bernese - in fact Lea at the front desk (who is wonderful too), has a Bernese Mountain Dog as well. So Aspen looks amazing (not like in the past with other grooming places). This was Boudin’s first time going to a groomer and they said he did amazing and absolutely loved him. I highly recommend them for your fur babies. ❤️

This was our first puppy grooming visit and it was wonderful! Luca is 4 months and he came out looking fluffy and smelled so fresh and clean! Thank you to Katelyn for being so sweet with Luca and he was very well behaved from what she told me. He looked happy and not scared or sad at all! The boutique is super cute and we got some cute shots of Luca after his grooming. Can’t wait to bring Luca back!

At first I was sad when they said they had to cut my golden doodle coat , but when I pick him up, I was so happy to see how cute he was ! They were very clear about the service, and also the price is great !

Took my sweet pup, 18 week old Bernedoodle, to For the Love of Dogs for his first grooming and had a fantastic experience. Not only did Maddy do a wonderful job, but Hank (my pup) did great and didn’t seem to mind it at all. They were so sweet and good with him, too. This will for sure be our groomer from now on.

1st off, we've been trying to find a groomer to groom our schnauzer who was a rescue. He had been groomed with his previous owners. We thought he would be okay with grooming. We've tried a few places and had no luck with anyone feeling comfortable grooming our guy. He is very anxious, nervous with the tools, too wiggly to take a chance on grooming him and accidently injuring him. Which I respect, I rather it be that then to pick up my pup cut up or worse. After a few calls and looking around. We finally found our go to groomers with For The Love Of Dogs!2nd they were so understanding and super helpful over the phone before he even arrived. They asked alot of questions to get to know him before setting our apt. When we arrived they were so nice and taking their time approaching him and making him feel safe. He went with them like nothing. When I picked him up they gave me a cute pawgress report card for him along with talking to me about their experience with him. He looked so good and happy when I got him back. They loved him and enjoyed tending to him at his pace. I can tell they really try their best to accommodate dogs as their own and building a bond with their pups they groom. I feel so relieved we found a groomer for our little rescue guy. If they can groom a nervous guy like ours they can groom any pup and make them look amazing. We are over the moon happy with their services. Definitely recommend them!! 💜🙏🏻

Gabby is my girl! She takes care of my German Shepard. Gabby and the front desk girls are all very sweet and make sure to let me know if there will be any delays. My dog always looks great and smells AMAZING!! That de-shedding treatment is fantastic. My dog gets very stressed coming to grooming places, when it's time to go she wants to GO (lol). I noticed at another location she would almost be sick for a day or 2 after her bath. Since coming here, that no longer happens. I love that the girls will all say bye to her when I come to pick her up too. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for and I personally think it's worth it.

Maddie has been grooming our Sadie for several years. Sadie is a scaredy-cat senior citizen and I only trust Maddie to groom her. Our first time with FTLOD was a huge success! I’ve never had our pups groomed before but they seemed to have a great time (even though neither one particularly cares for baths 🤣). Our big dog has some anxiety but the ladies up front listened to all my concerns and assured me he would be fine. Gabby took care of them today and we will be requesting her from now on! What a gem!
