Had a bit of an emergency ( broken tank ) so I was pressed for time to get a replacement. I called in and talked to Chance - told him what I was looking for and he gave me detailed options of seven or eight tanks and was very helpful. Drove into San Antonio later same day and he helped me get everything together, answered any questions I had and it was just a great experience and great customer service. New tank is up and running! I’ll definitely be back in the future

Good selection of exotic bettas with varying price ranges. Danni was very nice, answered all my questions and she gave some great tips. I ended up getting a male, light gold dragon betta for a 5 gallon neon tank. He's very healthy, active and has a great tail and fins... I paid $40 for him and he's worth every penny... the poor video quality does him little justice.I'd recommend this place (and I'd avoid petsmart/petco/walmart).

I recently found this shop and stopped in a few times to pick up some plants and other random things. This by far the best fish shop I've stepped into. Not only is it clean and kept up with but their stock is awesome and the prices are very fair. Where they really shine though is the attentiveness of the staff. They are all top notch, very knowledgeable and answers any questions you might have. As long as this shop is around, I'll have no reason to go anywhere else.

Staff is ready to assist and share their knowledge on all things aquatic, it was really awesome to hear the passion in their voice as they answer your question with in depth knowledge. Love the fact that the fish and plants look happy as well, will only come here for my aquatic shopping from now on. There’s a military discount on livestock as well.

The owner is almost always there to help, if not any of the staff are always happy to helpI have been shopping here since they first opened and prefer to take all my business to them as they truly care about the well being of my tank and livestock in it. I always refer others to them as well. Great selection of saltwater fish and beautiful coral, clean up crews, and even freshwater fish. All sort of food and any supplies you need even if you want to buy a complete tank setup. If you think the store is small just wait they are about to be expanding soon!!!

After waiting for our tank and stand to be built and after coming home from a long trip we had the best surprise walking into our house with our new beautiful tank set up with the rock they brought and designed the inside of it more perfect then we could have ever imagined. Jason and his brother did a amazing job and we couldnt have hoped for it to turn out any more perfect! Thank you guys! You made the wait so worth while!

My first visit happened to be on Customer Appreciation day. The store was hopping! The staff was so amazing, knowledgeable, and personable. The stock was impressive and well kept. I got some electric blue balloon rams, a bristlenose pleco, and some nerite snails. Every fishy is happy and healthy!

Great selection and even better service! They went out of their way to help us today to find something we couldn't get anywhere else in town. Their "new" freshwater section is awesome for some less common species and I can't wait to see it grow. Great selection of plants too.

I bought some plants from here and didn't have good luck with them. After the 1st week most of them had died. Went back a month later and told them, had no receipt or proof or anything and they gave me a free plant with the fish that I bought. Great people and a nice little fish store

I would like to say this has been the best experience. The employees here are educated on many different types of fish and what fish can go together. I had been looking into honey Gourami’s however very difficult to find. When I thought all hope was lost. They had them but my tank was not ready for them so I went back 2 weeks later. They didn’t have anymore honey Gourami’s however the gentleman was able to help me out in ordering some and received within two days. Was very happy that I received them and are enjoying their new home. I highly recommend coming here.

Save yourself time and money, don’t bother going anywhere else but Elegant Reef! I live 2 hours away and have been in every fish related store in SA and have always been immensely disappointed in my experiences with other establishments, up until today. The first thing I noticed upon walking in was how their tanks are obviously well cared for, parasite and pest free, as well as plenty of healthy stock! Everything was reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and most importantly knowledgeable. They had everything I needed and then some. Extremely satisfied with my purchase, I will definitely be back!

I am new to aquariums and I have always wanted to display one. I went to Elegant Reef to get some information since yesterday I was finally able to set my first aquarium. As I walked in, Mark greeted me and immediately began giving me a wealth of information and educated me on many aspects of keeping fish. I had seen videos on YouTube but for someone to actually tell you the do's and don'ts in person is much better. Elegant Reef has very well informed and extremely friendly people. I can't wait for my aquarium to finish cycling the water so I can return to buy some neon tetras.

Also, when I asked a question the staff member didn't know the answer and didn't fake one either, she went to another team member who was able to get me the right info. This has become my new weekend spot to hit up 😂 I’m new to the hobby and everyone here is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I’ve been to a few other places in town and the selection and customer service seems to be lacking compared to here. They have a wide and beautiful selection of freshwater fish and plants. I’m not entirely sure about how their saltwater selection compares to other places, but I feel like any freshwater enthusiast wouldn’t be disappointed by coming here. Highly recommend!

Went in to purchase an assassin snail, young lady that helped me had little to no knowledge of fish keeping. I asked for the assassin snail, to which she asoed another employee where they are and went and got one and packaged it up. Being a snail, it was not moving, i figured of course not, its stressed. get home, 24 hrs later it still hasnt moved. I call elegant reef and ask about their policy on selling deceased animals. I was told they have no exchange policy and the associates are to remove one that is stuck to something to ensure they are alive. when i watched her pull out the snail from the tank it was on the bottom, not attached to anything. I was told next time make sure it's alive first... Needless to say I wont be returning or recommending this business to any one.
