Update: gave them a 3rd chance, best 2 outta 3 ya know? Well they killed it. Super friendly staff and the vibe is back. Had a great time. The flies are crazy outside, flocks of 20 flies raiding the table once food arrived, but overall, I’m happy with this place again.Update: came today, 4/5/24, and our waitress was the worst I think weve had anywhere. Looking me up and down, staring at me the entire time we dined, and gave my lady ugly looks. Did not clear our table once so the flies were terrible. Had to go tell the hostess that we needed our table bussed and we need water refills. Ridiculous. Have really enjoyed coming here twice a week, but I can think of better places to spend $60 bucks in the morning.Absolutely the best Brunch I’ve had! My lady and I came out here this morning, staff is super friendly, you order and pay through a QR code so not much human interaction. Food is absolutely amazing, got a whole bottle of sparkling wine with orange juice for $20 or so buck. 6-7 mimosas. Will definitely be returning every weekend!

Read all the reviews before coming. Decided to come for mimosas and was sceptical on getting the food due to reviews. But let me tell you! This place has amazing brunch nachos and the countless options for mimosa flavor mix-ins were so good. We got there at like 830-9 and stayed til close at 2. It's a wonderful place to just drink the day away with a gal pal and eat some good snacks! They also had some cool flights of drinks that I admired from afar. We will be going back for future friend dates. Let me add we got two bottle services and the nachos. And they have legit the best priced bottle service!

Food was good. Flour tortillas were good. Salsa is good. The service is really bad. Wait staff dress liek they are serving at their home after a long night drinking, so they are dressed really bad. They should look better if they are serving food. They should Look clean and well maintained. There was a long wait for the food even though it wasnt busy or corwded, u gonna see the pics. I dont recommend this place to anyone or will b back at all.

We miss the old place across the street. No menus everything is done on your phone from ordering to paying. Quality of the food seems to have decreased, items not very flavorful, hollandaise was missing something being too thick, salmon didn’t taste very fresh. The fruit was good. We ordered bloody marys not realizing everything was wine based. Flies were horrible although they have fans for the table still pretty annoying, not sure how to fix that. This place use to be a go to for us. When we pulled up Nola was packed with a long line waiting for a table. Now we know why there wasn’t anyone waiting for a table here at Candlelight, just disappointing.

Wonderful experience with equally as wonderful food. It was a bit chilly out that day, but we had heaters surrounding us & I got myself a delicious hot chocolate. We enjoyed cat views and an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere while we chowed down on our food.

Have to admit I wasn’t to sure about the food. Idk why but , let me tell you the fish sandwich with the papas was so good too ! the pancakes were awesome! Would definitely come back plus the mimosas were damn good ! The ambience in the front is one thing but once you walk to the back and realize how big the place is really just pulls you in to sit down and relax. We were seated towards the very back. Fans on sun out little umbrellas were all up the music matching with the beautiful day was great. Thanks for the food and the chill vibezzzzzz

Not impressed. Maybe we just came on an off day. We were sat at a very small patio table for 2. There was only 1 other small group dining during this time. So there were plenty of seating options. It wouldn't have been bad if we were only going to have a few small items during our dining/drinking experience. By the time our food came and our beverages, including a bucket for the mimosas, there was little to any room to dine comfortably. The flies and mosquitos were a nuisance. We had to ask for a centronella candle, which needed to be placed on the ground near our feet. Well after our food arrived, they brought this fly deterant propeller thing. Which kept hitting our beverage cups, and it didn't help much. It was like a small obstacle course on our table. The mimosa to cost was reasonable. The food was good. Big portion sizes. We felt like this establishment, for food, should be more in the $9-$15 price range. The staff was very friendly. I dont think we'll be dining here again. Drinks probably.

I wouldn’t say this was the best breakfast I’ve ever had. But it was Sunday at noon for a table of six and there was no wait. And a whole bottle for mimosas was only $12! I got the eggs Benedict and it was not good. the Barbacoa was watery and barley had flavor. I would come back for the good drink prices and atmosphere. The backyard was so spacious and beautiful

Impressively Terrible. Had a reservation which they lost so we waited an additional hour to be seated. 45 minutes to get drinks. Over an hour for our food to come out. I ordered chicken and waffles. I paid almost $20 for a cold, pathetic, quarter inch thick waffle and two terrible chicken tenders; one the size of a chicken nugget under the mountain of breading, the other full of cartilage and vien, both tough and overcooked. They also forgot the syrup and honey. Took another 20 minutes for my partner to get his food. Brought up issues to staff, who said they would check on our order and never returned. I will say one girl who was not our waitress saw we were having terrible service and offered us a free mimosa which was very considerate of her. I couldn't be paid to eat here again.Parking: Must park far away due to location in residential area

It saddens me to write this review. I’ve been a loyal patron of Candlelight since 2011-ish. I live within walking distance so I’ve spent a LOT of time there that I don’t remember, thanks to the bottomless mimosas at the old location back in day.Candlelight has never been inexpensive, but I don’t mind paying more for quality/service/etc… now I’m paying top dollar for 2 measly slices of a 2.99 Jimmy Dean’s breakfast sausage loaf (but for these 2 paltry slices, Candlelight will charge you 4.50$). I’ve taken my dog here over the years and used to pay less for 2 HOMEMADE sausage patties, not stuff out of a plastic wrapper from H‑E‑B that was probably 50% off.Last time I was here, in October, I took my mom and my dog. I’ve bragged to my mom about Candlelight repeatedly over the years and was utterly embarrassed when she ordered the salmon Benedict…… they brought out the cheapest, thinnest English muffins a la Hill Country Fair on clearance in the bargain bin. They weren’t even toasted. The salmon that accompanied said stale English cardboard was ice cold, slimy. It was that salted, pickled, vacuum sealed plastic bag of salmon that you can get from H‑E‑B. The capers were also cold and tasted like straight up vinegar. The eggs are abysmal, like it was laid by a runt, defective chicken who died months ago.On a positive note, I ordered the garden quesadillas and they were GREAT!! ‘Twas a YUGE portion, fresh and delish. My former best friend ordered something that sucked, but she is so boring that I can only assume the dish was boring as well and that’s why I can’t recall it. Her opinion means nothing anyway, due to said boringness.I won’t be back until there is new management. I truly used to love this place (old location).

Came here with my sisters and everyone was so amazing. Not from texas and we all were just so amazed with the hospitality we received. Jonathan and Adrianda were both so amazing and I can’t believe how personable they were. As someone who used to work the service industry, I know its hard sometimes to keep that vibe going. I want to come here everyday!

Simply the best brunch spot in San Antonio. Family-friendly, excellent food and $2 mimosas, what more could you want on the weekend. The parking is a nightmare for all of North Saint Mary Street; but the YMCA has a massive lot within a few minutes walk. Now is the time for the community to keep supporting the businesses during the construction.

Really cool brunch spot/ coffee shop. I had the spinach and bacon scramble and it was cooked perfectly with great taste. Also had the cappuccino and it was prepared very well. I would definelty recommend if you are looking for a cool brunch spot or if you want to do some studying on the couches. 10/10 would recommend

This place is amazing. My first trip to San Antonio, wanted to find a place to work and grab breakfast at the same time while in town for a conference. It was a 10 minute Uber from downtown but well worth the trek! Great menu, great Kenyan coffee, and relaxing atmosphere. Diverse and welcoming safe haven for all customers. Chocolate chip pancakes and a plethora of fancy syrup flavors, serve your own unlimited coffee and stay as long as you like no rush.Would come back here all the time if I lived here!

My first time to visit. My partner and I were greeted with friendly smiles instantly! They have an amazing choice of foods and a beautiful area to relax and enjoy your food and drinks. The owners and chef were super nice and gave us recommendations off their menu. Absolutely loved their fruit and cheese plate!

Ken's Healthy Platter was really good. The Almond Bliss coffee…delicious. The only negative: the bagel and lox platter left much to be desired. Having lived in NYC for 10yrs, I am well educated in the bagels and lox department-it should be taken off the menu until they can meet basic expectations. Other than that, this place is great. The other breakfast/brunch platters look amazing, the decor/seating is cozy. Definitely putting this place on my list of places to return to.

This place has delicious food with clean flavors and you can choose to sit outside in a relaxed quiet ambience or inside that's busy and loud. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and it was cooked perfectly. The wait time was less than 10 minutes after I ordered my food. The servers checked on me several times. I gave it 5 stars because the food was high quality, the service was great, and the ambience was relaxing. I will definitely be returning.

Service and food was outstanding. They were so considerate for us, and lineient. The drinks were fab and the waffle and chicken so freaking good. The number one reason why I would go again is because of the service. The back garden/patio is so cute and it’s in this small house looking restaurant

Great hip #Bar/coffee shop/ #restaurant with cool vibe and atmosphere. Great friendly attentive staff. Owner has skin in the game and can be seen watering clients. Coffee prices are reasonable. Ask for.free Wi-Fi password. Kids friendly but not much room inside to run around. Big open space at the back. Good for dates and meetings or just to chill. Problem=in a city where horchata can be locally produced, it was a shock to see Kern's manufactured #horchata go in my latte! (3.18$retail) 🤔

Didn’t get to eat due to our timing but good reason to come back. Love love the outdoor ambience. Very trendy and chill.. the hours said it’s only open on the weekends I wonder if that’s true.
