Every time when I’m here I can see people cleaning their floor. People are friendly. You can tour their little farm. This is my always go to store for meat.They always offer FRESH meat and you can order by phone and pick up in store as well.Place: cleanProduct: cow, goat, hen, eggs (a bit cheaper than Walmart), raw milk, vegetables, honey, fresh coconut with shell attached, seasoning.Service: fast and easy, although they don’t understand english properly but they do understand what needs to be understood.Ambience: just when you reach at the store it stinks but when you enter the store it doesn’t.Parking: ample, free

Buying meat (chicken and goats) for a while. Always had best experience.But last time I bought goat meat online (almost 20 lbs). I picked up meat which was properly packed but when arrived home and opened packets it was the worst meat I ever bought from anywhere.I still go to this place but will never buy any meat online.

Hey everyone! I’m an existing customer and wanted to share my recent shopping experience. I bought 10 pounds of goat's legs, 5 pounds of beef ground, and five chickens from this store. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the chicken meat waste. I contacted the owner and they were really understanding and apologetic. They assured me that they will address the issue. It was an amazing experience purchasing my beef. From the selection process to the pickup, the staff was very helpful and a pleasure to work with.I began thinking about purchasing a whole cow for my family and a friend recommended Alamo Farms. I went several times and discussed the price and options for the services they provide. I was shown around the facility and allowed to see the working of the entire process. I spent time around processing facilities as a kid due to my mother being a butcher. This facility was impressive in their cleanliness and high standards.Once I was ready Abo (the owner) worked closely with me on selecting the right cow and selecting the best cuts for my dollar. He was very accommodating with my request to hang my meat for 21 days. I was allowed to check up on the process and was pleased with the progress of the dry aging.During this time, my son who is studying veterinary science in the AMP school in NEISD wanted to study the biology of the ruminant stomach and Abo allowed us to dissect one and keep samples for the school. He was happy to help us do that because he is very community focused. It was also a wonderful bonding experience for me and my boy. Meat doesn't grow magically in the packaging. This is a great place to learn about the process.When I was ready to pick up the meat, the guys waited for me and even helped me sort and pack it into my bins on my truck. Talk about excellent customer service!!!Ultimately, I am very happy with my meat. The price was spectacular. Bottom line is that I saved a huge amount of money over purchasing my meat at a local grocery store. Without getting too deep into price, I paid less per pound than I would have paid for just hamburger meat at my local store. If you want meat other than beef they have chicken, rabbits, duck, goat and lamb to name a few other options. The only meat not available is pork.I seriously recommend purchasing meat in bulk especially with the instability and the high cost that comes with the volatility of the current market. You don't have to buy the entire cow to save money. I will be a repeat customer, and I hope to see you there as well.

As a loyal customer who initially valued this establishment for its provision of fresh coconuts. I must express my disappointment with recent experiences. While the availability of fresh coconuts was a highlight, the constantly fluctuating pricing has become a source of frustration. It's disheartening to witness such inconsistency, especially when it undermines the trust and reliability I once associated with this place. Additionally, the noticeable decline in freshness further compounds my dissatisfaction. I sincerely hope that these issues are addressed promptly, as I am hesitant to continue supporting a business that fails to uphold its standards.

I ordered a whole goat 25lbs and paid in full. I told them I’m gonna pick it up the next day, I was told that they won’t touch or kill it until I get there. I came the next day, everything is chopped. I paid $430 and $50 tip to make sure I get everything I want, I am very disappointed!!! I trusted you guys. I only got 15lbs in return!!! I hope you all are happy scamming people!!! Never again….!!!!

Super excited to find this place! Fresh meat from right next door. All the beef options were from Fred today 🤓 Excited to make this a consistent stop. Chef said the place is full of families of all ethnicities on the weekends - so awesome.NOTE to those who don't know what Halal means = no pork here!

Wow, this establishment is very clean and well kept. The animals are very calm and look very healthy. Apu took us through the facility and I was impressed. He really helped us pick out a great hen for our BBQ. They also process quickly. They have nice farm fresh eggs and other dairy staples. I highly recommend. It's a clean and more humane way of processing meat or Halal. They respect both the customer and the animals.

This is July 2020 and I visited them last Friday. These guys just opened few weeks ago. Alamo Farms is the best Meat shop and farm I have seen so far. They have all kind of meat cuts. They also have live chicken, lamb and goat which they will slaughter for you right there. The whole area is very clean including the slaughter and processing area. They also have a small shop inside with all kind of dairy products, cheese, eggs and what not. They may NOT be the cheapest in town but they are very good. I would recommend this to anyone and would love to visit them again.

Happened to stop by on their 1 year anniversary celebration. Had about 5 vendors in the parking lot, live music, and a raffle. It was a nice event, but the heat may have kept people from hanging outside. Decided to enter the raffle and was lucky enough to win 2 prizes of an embroidery fiesta blouse and some jewelry. They were very nice and will buy something to support those vendors.Inside Alamo Farms, it's very clean and organized. There's a large selection of meat, dairy products, and miscellaneous items. The meat prices were fair, but probably cheap considering the halal processing. The eggs were extremely cheap. There were plenty of employees working behind the counter and saw a lot of employees bringing in freshly processed meat. There was a small bottleneck of only having 1 register, but that was minor. Overall, good experience and will stop by again for fresh meat and dairy products.

Fresh meat. They have fowl, livestock, goats, and more. You select the animal you want, they clean and prepare your order as you wait. They have some cut meat in the counter and an assortment of eggs and spices. I would recommend if you like farm fresh meat.

Great products and staff. Food is as fresh as you can get without living on a farm. Can't say enough nice things about the knowledge and courtesy of the staff. As a bbq pitmaster I encourage you to try fresh over the grocery store meats and you won't regret it.

Great place to get all your live animals. Chicken, rooster 🐓, goats 🐐, sheep 🐑 or lamb, cows 🐄 ect , you name it. They do have a technology to get it all processed and ready for you to take home.I love going there not just because of the above statement but because of the outstanding customer service that I get every time I go there. They genuinely make you feel welcome and needed there for the success of their business.You can actually save time by calling ahead and all will be ready for pickup upon arrival. 👍❤️🙂🙏

This place is a welcomed addition to the San Antonio fresh market scene. Walking in we were greeted by every employee, with actual EYE CONTACT (imagine that)! We were able to get a tour of the facilities, which were extremely clean and well kept. We purchased chicken and beef products. The eggs price and flavor are worth the trip alone. The food was delicious and knowing it was fresh, even better. The owner of this family business truly wants to serve his customers. Five stars is not enough.

We had the pleasure of visiting for a special they had in ground beef and eggs. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful seeing how this was my first time visiting a butcher shop. They had fiesta brand spices too. Their meat and eggs are delicious and the freshest I’ve had ever. We will be shopping here for our meat and egg selection from now on.

This place is a real gem. The people are so nice and care so much for your experience and, moreover, for the animals. They showed us around and everything is so clean. And, to have the animals treated so well and blessed is such a gift. Would be nice if the chickens had some room to roam. But, this is a great find for anyone looking for humanely raised and processed local meat in the heart of the city. Highly recommend.

Coolest place I’ve been in some time. I don’t eat much meat and didn’t for a long time but I do know all about meat processing and production from majoring in Agriculture. This place is super clean and they process their meat right in front of you Halal style. I did not know what that meant until then and am blown away by their respect for the animals and cleanliness. It put me at ease and I even went to the back and picked out my own for our bbq tomorrow. Something I thought I would never do but if you’ve never done it, it’s not what you think. This place is great. Definitely a go to spot in SA. Got a tour from the owner and it’s just a great concept and cool place. Looking forward to going back again.

Alamo Farms provides a service that no one else offered before they existed, the value of having fresh, clean, halal meat options inside the San Antonio city limits is amazing! Anyone who's complaining about prices doesn't understand the costs of running a business. Alamo farms the service is just outstanding , very nice place , the staff and the manager “ abo” are very friendly and helpful. The store various , chicken-lamb -goat - beef , everything wonderful ( fresh meat ) , As a Muslim I’m very satisfied because the Halal meat .This year eid Al Adha was excellent Al hamdulillah, the price acceptable, some people complained about the pricing yes is normal but I think they haven’t an idea as what quality is ( meat fresh and service professional )very recommended ..
