What can I say, Carmen is awesome. She took care of our fur babies like they were her own. I think our doggies were upset when we took them home. Will definitely bring them back next time we are on vacation and will highly recommend her to everyone. Thank you so much!!

My three Chihuahuas stayed here for a little over a year while I was either out of state or out of the country. Karen took such good care of my babies letting them go outside on nice days and play in the grassy yard. They were well fed and in healthy condition when I came to get them. She even gave me updates on how they were doing anytime I called. The price was really good and Karen even worked with me when I was finally able to come get them on payment to get them out. I would recommend Have A Heart Kennels to all everyday and twice on Sunday! Thank you so much Karen from Mike Howell and his baby girls - Sandy Brown, Annabelle and Baby Doll!!

I posted my review on yelp buy some people, don’t use that app so I am posting here too.I read all the reviews and saw the change ownership so I gave them a try. Is a kennels with a lot of possibilities if you give them a chance. I really love how Carmen and family treated my three pets. She texted back, very quickly when I need it an answer and keep my updated about my pets. My two cats came home, more relax that when I left them in others kennels. I will recommend you to give her place, a chance. Very friendly staff and very welcoming. Definitely will use again.

We had our two puppies there over the weekend and were so nervous to leave our babies with anyone.Carmen at Have A Heart really made the process easy and seamless.She and her amazing family took such good care of them and they came home so tired from playing they went right to sleep.I love that they got so much attention and love just like they would have had here at home. It made the process pleasant for us and them.Carmen was so sweet to my family and I, when we recently went through a hard time and I can't thank them or recommend them enough to anyone looking for a friendly family owned business to look after your pets.

We left our four dogs for a week snd came home to healthy and happy pups! Ms. Carmen sent me pics of the boys enjoying the large and shaded play area! Coming back in June for another visit - this is our Go-To place to make sure our fur babies are well cared for!!

I have been to several kennels in San Antonio and now in San Angelo. This is the first one to take me on a tour without me asking. Nothing to hide! Everything clean. No urine smells. The dogs all happy. This is also the first one that actually allowed my large dogs out of the kennel to play in the yard. I know my dogs are a handful but she was able to give them a vacation! She didn't mind me checking up on them, because I am a worrier when it comes to my dogs. She sent me photos of them in the yard. The kennel had me so at ease, that I actually extended my stay and didn't rush back like I usually do. I am always so anxious on how by dogs are doing. I was actually feeling good about them. I highly recommend this kennel. I will definitely be taking my dogs back. I can now leave town!

My pup was cared for far beyond my expectation. She was bathed and her bedding clean the day I came to get her. The owner is responsive to texts and let me know exactly how my pet was doing in my absence. I can't imagine a more loving environment. And every time I've ever been there, everything has been clean and has smelled great. They have also always had quite a number of pets any time I've been there - which seems to say that many trust these people with their pets. I would trust them any time with my pets and recommendation them to anyone in the area looking for exceptional kenneling or pet day care.

It was my fault for waiting until the last minute to look for a kennel. I was ecstatic when I found that Have-a-Heart still had openings to cater to my dog while I was away for two weeks. When I took my pet in she weighed 30.4 lbs. Upon picking her up, and weighing her the next day when I could get to a scale, she weighed 17 lbs!!! I have heard of dogs loosing some weight while boarded, but she had been boarded multiple times before at other kennels for the same length of time, and never lost that much weight. In addition, she seemed extremely dehydrated and was still wet from a bath that she was given, per my request, the night before. I guess I didn't expect them to blow her dry, but I was disappointed that she stayed in their outer building all night long, damp. Finally, it is normal for my dog to sleep more after being boarded, which is understandable from probably not sleeping well from other dogs barking. However, she slept for 19 hours straight, only waking up a few times when I wanted her to go potty. I will not be returning my dog to this kennel and would suggest you don't either.

The first time I dropped my dog off it was for a 12 day stay. When I arrived, I wasn't offered a tour but instead had to specifically request to see where my dog would be kept. Organization was lacking and the smell of the kennels were horrible. When I arrived to pick her up, the comfort toy that I left with my dog was found on a shelf in a separate room than where my dog was. When my dog was released, she came out looking confused and drugged. She was also missing her leash and the kennel owner went on a 15 minute search for it. Once found, again on a dirty shelf, it was soaking wet. Against better judgement, I made arrangements for a second stay as I had to go out of town for five days. I called to arrange a drop off for a Saturday and was informed that I would have to drop her off by 8:00 am due to church plans. No problem there until I arrived at 7:31 to find that no one was available.. She had left long before 8:00 as she had forgotten that I was coming in, due to lack of organization and not have written it down. Being pressed for time as all kennels appear to close onSundays, I had to rush to drop her off on my way to the airport. When I picked my dog up five days later, it appeared my dog wasn't drugged this time, but when my dog came out, she ran straight for the door and was more than ready to go home. After driving home, I noticed that her front elbow was swollen and missing skin. Needless to say, I won't be coming back, nor would I recommend this place to others.

If I could rate this place at Zero stars I would. Two summers years ago We had planned a 4 day family vacation but I had never taken my dog to a Kennel before so I wasn't all that sure of what was to be expected. We were running late trying to find a kennel but all were full. We finally found Have-A-Heart. With it being our only option, I didn't critique the place too much. Upon arrival I told them she just had a bath and that she didn't have flees or anything so she didn't need a bath. When we went to leave her, she started freaking out trying to leave with me, in the process clawing a hole in my dads shoe. When we went to get her, she crawled all the way to the car with her tail tucked between her legs she was so scared. I noticed she had lumps on her back and her skin was hanging in some spots. a few days went by and she hadn't eaten anything, the lumps on her back got hard and was starting to smell really bad. We took her to the vet and turns out, she had severe chemical burns. She still, to this day has huge bald patches on her back where the burn scars are. It burned her so bad that her hair never grew back. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!!!!

Have-a-Heart Boarding Kennels provided a loving and safe environment for our babies. When I picked them up they were happy to see me, but sad to leave Ms. Carmen. I will use this kennel again because I can do so worry free because my babies will be cared for with love.

Was not impressed! Took both my dogs in, was not asked for shot records or to be shown around. I brought just the right amount of food for them along with the cup, to last them the 5 days that I was gone. When i went to pick them, up, they both pee'd inside of the place as if they have not been let out of the kennel in hours! There was still half the food left in the box that was brought in, they both smelled dirty. Once I got home I gave them a bath to make them smell batter. I can them both a cup and a half and they both ate it up as if they have not had anything to eat for days. WAS NOT IMPRESSED!!!

Me and my husband rescued a great dane she had severe problems when we got her such as being very scared of being alone and aggression towards men we got to have a heart and spoke to the owner about these problems she let us know that she would take very good care of her and would nkt allow any men around her she allowed us to see where are dog was going to be kept it was very clean are dog was very scared but the owner talked to her and pet her to calm her down we then left we called that night and spoke to owner to check on our dog the owner was great there when our dog got scared she comforted our dog i will definetly use this place again the owner also gave us her cell phone number so we could text her about our dog the best part was that we got to pick up our dog sunday most are closed on sundays. Thank you again for taking such good care of our baby

If friendly staff, great service and love for your pet is what you are looking for, then I would definitely recommend Have-A-Heart Kennels. These are all the items that we received while my dog was in their care. This makes my heart grateful. The new owners go above and beyond.

As you start looking for a place for your four legged kid. This is it. I have a one year old boxer. This was the first time we had been apart. She took care of my little boy and sent pics of him playing. I will say he was wore out when I picked him up, but that was because he played so hard. Will be going back next time I have to leave him.

Sam and Sasha have “vacationed” here a few times. Holidays and weekends that I won’t be in town. I love that I’m able to message to make reservations and to check in on them. Plus with them being 90+lb Rottweilers many kennels are intimidated by them but not here.
