We have a 10 month old long coat German Shepherd, Simba. He has been with us about 7 months now! Tia and Dan were the best to deal with, and actually still are. We still text Tia over any concerns we may have and she is always so responsive. Since this was our first time getting a pet, Tia and Dan were so informative and helpful and made the transition so easy. I would highly recommend them.

Von der Otto German Shepherds have been such a blessing for me and my family. We had a beautiful German Shepherd, Cabella, that passed away this past December. After many months of grieving we decided to begin the search for another precious German Shepherd and our search ended once we found Von der Otto GS and Tia & Dan!! I reached out via email and told them our story, and they took the time out of their vacation to call and visit with me! We actually were offered the "pick of their last litter" a precious little girl (Quinn Ann) that they were going to keep. Needless to say the tears of joy began to flow! Not only did they help us feel a huge hole in our heart and our home but they offered to keep our new baby girl, Quinn Ann, an additional month while we were on a family mission trip and vacation to Africa!Tia and Dan are "first class" breeders of an outstanding West German line of German Shepherds .... as well as great people. From the moment we saw their wonderful, family style kennels and all the love they give to those fur babies we knew we were buying a very special GS puppy! Quinn Ann is so VERY intelligent and her instincts are absolutely amazing for a puppy. Also she is such a loving and easy girl to train and can't wait to see the results of her official training in a month! Needless to say - she is a blessing to our lives and home. And we thank you Tia & Dan! And do not think that their concern or compassion stops once you buy your GS puppy - for they continue to answer any and all questions and love to see pictures of their babies!! We had two dogs, a rescue and a re-home. We wanted to add a Shepherd to our home to grow with our at the time 5 month old son. We wanted to purchase a puppy for this reason. We did our due diligence in researching Breeders. Von der Otto German Shepherds were highly rated so we checked them out. It turns out they are right around the corner from our house. It was a no brainer. We set up a time to meet with Tia and Dan. We arrived at the address and heard no Dogs barking. We assumed we were at the wrong place. Shepherds are very vocal. Dan came out and introduced himself and we went inside. We sat down and started to talk. They answered all questions that we had. They then offered to meet their Males. We jumped at the chance to meet them. They brought out Canon and Aaron. We had no idea any dogs were in the house. Incredibly friendly without being pushy. Sniffed our Son, got some pets and went and laid down. I knew from that moment that I wanted one of their puppies. Their Dogs are absolutely gorgeous and well tempered. We put a deposit on a litter and fell in love with Mattis. We picked him up at the end of May and he has made our home complete. He is a Long coat German Shepherd. The only long hair Male in the litter. He is absolutely gorgeous.He is very well tempered, incredibly smart and is great with our young Son and other Dogs. He is very social without being overbearing. He will get pet then go and lay down and survey the situation. I know that he will be protective when need be and relaxed when not. I cannot recommend Tia and Dan and Von der Otto German Shepherds enough. We have absolutely fallen in love with the breed and will go no where else for any future Shepherds. Thank you Tia and Dan for breeding these amazing Shepherds. You have done very well!

This sweet dog was a present for my youngest son, she quickly became a family dog. She truly loves everyone and everyone loves her. I was initially a bit hesitant to get a German Shepard, as I have two boys and they always have friends over, running around, wrestling, and playing. I had concerns that this breed of dog might not match with such a kid oriented environment. Tia and Dan are such kind and trustworthy people. Tia introduced my son and myself to all of their dogs, and every dog was friendly and played with my son, I was convinced. This was one of the best decisions I have made. Our girl, Coco, LOVES children, people, and even other dogs. I am so pleased, as I have heard from other German Shepard owners that their dog is skittish around strangers etc., our girl has none of those issues. This is why good breeding is worth every penny. We live on the lake and Coco goes swimming almost every day and loves to go paddle boarding and on the boat with us. We are completely in love with this addition to our family.

Researching GSD breeders was an exhausting process and I recall hearing about Von der Otto German Shepherds. They had so many 5 star reviews, I was intrigued and spoke with Tia on the phone. We met a few weeks later and visited again. Our GSD puppy came home in August 2015.Being new to the breed, I had many questions which Dan and Tia answered. They had suggestions and recommendations which were always in our family's best interests. My obedience and training work was stagnating and asked Tia about options. She referred me to Anna Duke of Duke Canine. Best trainer ever!!!Dan and Tia love their dogs even after they are placed in homes. This summer one of her retired dogs got lost and both Dan/Tia took off from work to find Neva who got lost following a big rain/thunderstorm. Using the power of social media, they found her after a worrisome and stressful few days. That's dedication!I have nothing but great words for Von der Otto and many of their customers feel the same way. I highly recommend them and hope you are able to experience the quality and dedication to the breed as we have seen for the past 3 years!

Meet Canon von der Otto. Son of Sindbad vom Larchenhain. Canon is not only a beautiful and stunning 6-month-old German Shepherd puppy. He is intelligent, a quick learner, and he is incredibly loving. His temperament is wonderful. He is gentle with children.Our wonderful experience can be attributed to Tia and Dan Otto. It is clear they have invested their time and resources in breeding their German Shepherds.When we picked him up, he was four weeks old and wore the green collar to help identify him from his litter mates. Tia arranged for us to meet and play with the entire litter. It was important to meet Canon’s parents both of which had solid, calm temperaments. The kennels are spotless, and the caregivers knew their Shepherds.Tia and I spoke multiple times before we met in person. She is both a kind and honest businesswoman. All paperwork and certificates were waiting for us when we drove down to pick Canon up at eight weeks.Canon is now a member of our family. We will miss our previous German Shepherd of 13 years, but Tia and Dan have filled the hole in our heart with a beautiful, loving puppy.Thank you for all you have done for our family!

We got our boy Voss from Von der Otto and he is the BEST dog ever!! He is so smart, funny, a great guard dog, and gets complimented all the time about how beautiful he is. He has so much personality and is the sweetest snuggle bug at bed time. We love him so much!! 10/10 recommend Von der Otto Shepherds!

After 2 long years without a German Shepherd in our home, my kids convinced me that it was time. I started researching breeders and I was immediately drawn to Von der Otto Shepherds. Dan and Tia’s knowledge and their willingness to share it far surpassed anything that I had seen from other German Shepherd breeders. My family and I made several trips to meet the puppies as well as their parents before deciding on the right puppy for us. We picked “Xenos”, or rather he picked my daughter from our first visit when he was about 8 weeks old. He was a cute puppy, and has grown into a handsome teenager at 7 months. He is the son of Adel and Quantum. We are proud to have him and consider Dan and Tia Otto an extension of our family.

We had the pleasure of getting one of Adel and Canon’s beautiful puppies. Her name is Jäger. She is so sweet and very smart puppy. Tia and Dan are wonderful people. They always texted or called me back almost immediately and answered any questions that I had. I was welcome to go to their home several times to meet the puppies and the adults. I brought my 3 young children with me the 1st time we went. My children were petting and hugging the dogs and they were all very sweet and well behaved around my children. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! These are wonderful people that love and care very much about their dogs. Our sweet Jäger is very healthy and loyal to us. Thank you so much! It was nice experience I have when I got Frodo from Tia and Dan. Our communication started from 2011 and eventually I was able get Frodo this year. I think we liked the most is their love to their dog. It is incomparable. Currently Frodo is almost 8 months and I always reach out them whenever I have question regarding Frodo and they are always available to help. When our first GSD crossed the rainbow we tried to fill the hole with a rescue, but couldn't find one that got along with our college aged daughter's GDS so we turned to Von der Otto from whom the "college dog" came. Tia was so helpful as we considered our options of either purchasing a retired female or getting a puppy. We are now the proud owners of 3 beautiful girls all from Von der Otto and would have no trouble recommending them to our friends.

We visited several breeders before deciding to purchase our new family member from Von der Otto German Shepherds. The deciding factor was how much the owners love their dogs, they are family. Their dogs are in and out of their home, on the furniture, and travel to Oklahoma to run and play on their land.They have received the highest marks available from AKC each time the organization has inspected their facility and home (even being told the organization, set-up, and condition is equitable to a commercial facility ). They protect the bloodline by ensuring overall general health and disposition of the moms and dads. In addition, the parents are hip and elbow certified. We were able to visit our puppy and the other dogs every Saturday. Our puppy is in excellent health, has a great disposition, and is extremely intelligent. They have made themselves available to answer any questions we may have and recommended a great trainer. We are so thrilled we have put a deposit down on a second puppy. You can not go wrong by purchasing a puppy from them.

We had to put our beloved german shephard down last year. My husband has two labs but the house was not the same. After researching, visiting and talking with other breeders we decided to go with Tia and Dan. Their knowledge is vast. Our pup is almost 6 months old and she is amazing. I first visited Von Der Otto about a year ago just to check out the place as an option for getting a puppy in the future. About 10 months later, we were ready for a puppy and Tia was still the only breeder I trusted and wanted to get a pup from. Tia is great. She and Dan are very knowledgeable and experienced with Shepherds. It is so obvious that they care deeply about each dog they own. The dogs' temperaments are incredible and they are gorgeous dogs. When my husband and I met Canon, we knew we had to have one of his pups! I've now had my pup, Milo for a week and I honestly feel so lucky to have him. He's sweet, fearless, beautiful, and most importantly, incredibly smart!! I highly recommend getting a Von der Otto puppy!

They were so professional and responsive in keeping us up to date with any changes with litters. First, sorry for not putting this review in sooner.On Aug 15 2019 Cannon and Adel Van Der Otto had a beautiful litter of puppies. In September of 2019 Mr Sullivan had first choice of male pups. On Oct 10 2019 brought puppy Baron home.Mr Sullivan is so pleased with Baron. He is a beautiful German Shepard. Tia and Dan have in my opinion the top notch service if you are wanting a German Shepherd pup.Tia was super great when taking Baron home that Oct afternoon. We had many questions and she was able to answer and refer us to a great trainer.Baron is a joy and blessing. Baron is now going on 7 months old and has gone to the best trainer that Tia suggest and we are so pleased with the results.Baron the big boy of the litter is smart and loves to play ball and take walks.So if you are looking for a German Shepard this is a great place to find the perfect Pup

Tia and Dan have been just wonderful throughout this process. We went to look at a Sindbad litter in February and as soon as we got there we saw how beautiful all their dogs were and how clean the environment was. We immediately knew that we needed a puppy from Von Der Otto German Shepherds. We put a deposit down for a Sindbad puppy for the fall but Tia informed us that there might be a puppy available for us sooner. We asked if we could visit the Cori and Aaron pups and a week later we brought home our sweet Luchs who we love so much. We are so thankful for Tia and Dan, for all their help and flexibility. Such a beautiful line of West German Shepherds, we could not have asked for more in a breeder.

We have had such an amazing experience with Von Der Otto. We’ve had German shepherds in our family for decades, but our most recent puppy has been the first time we have worked with Von Der otto and WOW! We are beyond impressed. Their knowledge and love for these dogs is unmatched.They allowed us to come and meet all of their dogs and tour their property prior. I can not say enough about Von der otto German Shepherd Dogs! I bought my Indie Girl just over 11 years ago and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. When I first contacted Tia I explained to her I wanted a long coat dog and how much I loved the German Shepherd breed. She understood and provided me with all the information I needed to make an informed decision. After documents were signed and payment made Tia and her Husband Daniel arranged to fly our new puppy to us. When ever I had a question or concern Tia was always there to answer and provide good information and suggestions. Von der Otto cares deeply about their dogs and their customers. They are experts in their field and strive to provide the best customer service. My Indie Girl is a little over 11 years old now and although she has slowed down a bit she is healthy and has been the best family dog we could have asked for. You can't go wrong with Tia Otto and her company. Her German Shepherds are first class. I did quite a bit of research before deciding to go with her. She was also recommended to me by a breeder I trust. Let me say first that besides the excellent quality of her Shepherds, she is a very good business woman. I called and contacted other breeders and received calls or emails not at all or maybe days later. Tia, though she was busy at a dog show, emailed me immediately and answered all my questions about the dog I wanted. She emailed me pictures of the dog and directed me to her guarantee information. She talked to me on the phone more than once. I was nervous about it, still, though I had some recommendations and had done research. I noticed in doing my research on her that she received glowing reviews from other customers and that her German Shepherds placed in dog shows. When we arrived to get our puppy, I was pleased that he was all we expected. His temperament was indeed excellent, as she told us. In the first five days of his time with us, he learned to climb stairs, is potty trained and is learning to walk well on a leash. He is very intelligent, loves being the center of a attention, but can be quiet and confident. He doesn't bark much because he isn't afraid of much. He is fascinated with his new home. One morning, he decided to help my husband with some repairs by carrying a pair of needle nose pliers! He is quickly learning to do little jobs around the house such as help with carrying in the groceries. An update to this posting is that he is going to puppy school is is one of the advanced puppies in the class. His coat is soft and beautiful and his eyes are alert and bright. Just as she said in our talks, he had all of his shots and was worm free. He is so healthy, that the vets marvel and his growth and height. It never fails that when we're out with him, someone says what a beautiful dog he is. He has adjusted well to his new environment and catches on quickly. He's a keeper. Tia and her group know what they're doing. My hat's off to them!

My husband and I were looking for a dog suitable for young children, one being partially blind and dealing with some other issues. I reached out to Tia via the website to ask for more details on the German Shepherds they breed and If she believed they would be a good fit for our family. I got an immediate response and an invite to meet parents of a future litter.We have had nothing but amazing experiences with Tia and Dan who have really welcomed my family into their home on multiple occasions to meet with our puppy. Tia has responded to every question and given me advice on everything related to our puppy and then some.We got our boy from the recent T litter (parents Xena and Cannon) he is the sweetest little boy, he is very mellow already and loves to sit with us which is wonderful for my visually impaired son and my 14 month old.

We just bought our second puppy from Von der Otto German Shepherds. I first girl Leska is now 3 and we couldn’t ask for a better dog. She is sweet, smart and perfect temperament. We take her everywhere with us and she is good with kids, people and other dogs...she even loves the cat! Our new baby Yader is 14 wks old. He is smart, loving and full of energy. The vet said he was one of the best looking dogs he has seen. I highly recommend them if your looking for a wonderful bloodline with excellent personalities. Tia Otto has been amazing in helping with anything we need. ❤️

Let me first begin this review by saying I've always wanted a German Shepherd but between living with my parents and being very busy outside of school I have never really been in a suitable position to take on such a huge responsibility. Finally after many years I've found myself in a position that I feel comfortable enough to adopt a German Shepherd puppy. I choose Von Der Otto because their name constantly appeared when I searched through google, forums, and other various methods. After getting in contact with Tia she graciously invited me to her house to see her dogs and talk in person. To say I was blown away is an understatement! Her dogs were beyond beautiful and very well behaved. She showed me where she keeps her puppies once they're born and what supplies (dog food, vitamins, etc.) she found to be best when owning a German Shepherd. When it was all said and done, after talking about why I wanted a German Shepherd and the activities I'd find myself doing with it she recommended I sign up for a upcoming litter that she felt would meet my needs! I will say I haven't received a puppy from them yet but I feel compelled to write this review early on because I don't believe I'd find this quality of a breeder anywhere else!
