Our first time to visit, we were on the way home from Austin and needed to get a bite to eat. It did NOT disappoint! I had the cheeseburger with fries, excellent! My husband had the Cowboy Up (hamburger steak with grilled onions and jalapeños) with green beans and friea, also excellent. For appetizers we had fried pickles and bottle caps (fried jalapeños) and both were very good. Its not a fancy or upscale place at all, just a really great place to eat. Highly recommend!!

Quick pit stop while passing through. Not a whole lot to talk about outside of the chicken fried steak. The thing was huge (had to take half to go). The breading was done to perfection. The gravy was a bit runny for my taste and lacked a little flavor, but not bad. The quality of the steak is what I question the most. It was off to me from taste to texture. Not local to Rockdale, so cannot speak of other places. All and all not bad, but not great. I would give it 3.5 if I could. I don’t think I would ever stop here again and certainly wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Pleasant surprise. Looks more like a bar than restaurant, but food was great and reasonably priced for quantity. Chicken fried steak and chicken were really good and the service was amazing. Super friendly and attentive. Will go back when passing through.

The last time I got a good meal out of this place was 2008. Now they're either not open when the schedule says they should be or nobody answers the phone to take my water so I can pick it up and not hang around waiting on them while they take their sweet time.Go to Lee's landing, Julio's or China Buffet instead. They've got great food and great service!

I don't give anything 5 stars unless it's perfect, which is rare, but the Ranch is really delicious. I had the onion rings and the chicken fried steak and oh my God! SO good! The onion rings are huge! I will definitely be back!

I order burgers and sweet potato fries every time I go. In this food category I would rate the ranch as a top notch establishment. The service has always been awesome as well. If you ever pass through Rockdale, stop here to grab a bite and then you can thank me later after you have eaten. Good stuff.

Nice lunch experience. Went with my two sisters and the food and service were very good. We all said we would be back with our spouses. Rock dale has many Mexican restaurants but we were wanting something else and we heard about the Ranch. Glad we gave it a try.

The Ranch is one of the best places to have dinner, have your favorite drink or beverage to relax and listen to good music. It's big spacious, clean and a good family oriented place to take your family. The Staff is nice and friendly always. The food is delicious and their burgers are the best in town.

This was ridiculous, I waited an hour for a burger and a half order of burning haystack, had 2 beers and paid 25 dollars. I don't mind paying 25 dollars for a decent meal, but I do mind paying 25 for a burger that takes an hour to make.I get to the restaurant around 8ish, looks kinda dead for a Friday night at 8pm, I sit at the bar, the tender or waitress, whatever she is (there's only two working on a Friday night for some reason) ask if I'm eating or just drinking, I tell her both and she offers a menu, I decline as I already know what I want. Big Bad John on a Jalapeno bun, half an order of burning haystack, and a cold beer, I order modelo. She puts my order in, gives me a beer, takes off.I drink my beer, watch the silent TV at the back of the bar, and wait. I finish my beer, and wait.. and wait.. 30 min go by..I wait.. around 45 min I flag down the waitress as I've not been offered another beer or anything and ask if she knows how long on the burger, she replies "they're pretty backed up but I'll go check.." and disappears. 20 minutes later she brings out my food, and finally offers another beer.I would have left had she come back and told me 20 more min on my burger, paid for my beer and been done, saving myself the bill.Highly disappointed, the first time my family and I ate here the food was prepared in a decent time, it was delicious and the service was on point. The second time we went was on a Wed (which is a reaaally busy night because of the live music, so the hour and a half wait to eat was understandable..) and the service and food were good, but the wait of course was tedious. This last time, the food was good and the service was terrible and the wait was ridiculous. I will not be going back a fourth time as the trend is a downward spiral.

If you want a really great burger you must go here, all the food is good but I love burgers and theirs are the best around by far. My 2nd choice is the chicken fried steak. The fries are cut there. My wife loves the Philly.

I went to Casino Night there. It was a pretty nice experience. I ordered a tequila sunrise and I got an orange juice and tequila. Not very impressive! The food is great though.

This place is one of the Best food experiences in Rockdale. The service is great, waiters are very friendly and in my opinion good at there job. They also have a sweet boutique with some of the cutest Texas bling you've ever seen!!

You can tell the mashed potatoes are not made from real potatoes. I ordered a chicken fried steak and there was about two inches of just fried batter without any steak so it looked much longer and larger than what it actually was. The whole meal was disappointing and bland.

Nice place for indoor and outdoor events. Great for bbqs; has a small pond for paddle boats, a small pool. A playscape for young children and several pavillions for dining under the shade. Indoors has a nice banquet hall for receptions, special dinners and a dance floor. The 9nly drawback are the outdoor bathrooms, they are too rustic and in need of updates!
