I wished I knew the lady who checked me out. She was very helpful and tild me about the cushion for the crate I purchased. She took me over to the cushions and went over the different options. She was very helpful. You don’t find customer service like this now days.Later that same day i used your online support to assist with me getting my password reset. Again I had the same experience. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable

I went here strictly for the Saltwater fish selection. I was happy to see that they had a small area, which was surprisingly clean. The one complaint was that there was only 1 young girl working! In the whole store! She was doing her best to attend to the long line of customers she had, Store Management needs to get it together, 1 person? Think of how much business you are losing bu not helping all your customers.

We took our granddaughter to Petco to get some pet fish. The staff was VERY helpful - and thankfully didn’t let us walk out with fish yet. We’ll get the glofish in 1.5 weeks. My husband and I tried fish when our kids were young and they never made it - TODAY we know why!! Thanks to honest staff that gave good advice.

I’ve bought 7 fish between November- August and they’ve all died. Most of them looked somewhat sick from the first day we bought them. I went in to look around and most of the beta fish are dead. Same with the tanks, the fish are getting stuck on the filters and the employees didn’t even care, I had to tell one of them to take it out. I did so because first it’s a bad impression on future customers and second because it isn’t sanitary for the other fish. Do not recommend this store. Find another petshop!!!

The grooming services at this location is amazing. I have two border collies and they are just happy. The staff is very caring. One of my dog is very fearful, however they are alway very careful with her.Update: After a couple of days that I took my dogs to this location, I took them to the vet because they had something on the skin. They have yeast and bacteria, and they didn’t have it before their grooming visit. Vet it’s not sure if it was a reaction to shampoo or they were in contact with contaminated grooming tools. I have been struggling with this for ten days. Medications and sprays. I DO NOT RECOMMEND you take your dog here.

I want to give a very special shout out to all the employees on this particular Petco store. Today I had a very stressful day as I have been carrying for my elderly mother who has become very ill, and one of the things that came with her is her little Maltese Dora. Dora was in urgent need of a groom and we tried last week to get an appointment with the store that has always done her, but they reminded us that during the period of my mother's hospitalization Dora's vaccine records had expired, so I had to get those, then I tried to call that store on several occasions to get an appointment only to keep getting sent to use the online service. Well eventually I did so and this morning we went to the store for Dora's appointment only to find out that I mistakenly made the appointment on the Cinco Ranch store, I was already late for the appointment and now I had to drive some 7 or so miles south to the other store. Needless to say we got to the Cinco Ranch store one hour late. I was a wreck in nerves only thinking what I would have to hear from my mother if Dora didn't got groomed, but the people at the grooming salon were so absolutely nice and understanding and they took Dora in and did such a great work with her, thank you Rafael. And not enough with that, when I dropped Dora I bought some Christmas collars to all our dogs, not noticing that 2 of them where too big, well I could only find 1 small to exchange but one lady offered she would look for the other, and she got it. This people are the nicest, I for sure will shop there more often. I want to give you all a 💯!!!

Let's just start with this is the best Petco & Pet store hands down bar none, Period ! I will literally pass up any petco or pet store to make sure I end up at this location & that my money is spent here ! The store is always in great shape from what's in stock to what on sale all the way down to cleanliness ! I see the staff always cleaning dusting organizing and just overall general retail store duties they are being done at this location on the Daily ! Even the restroom is immaculate ! ( I saw Ron the Manager personally cleaning and mopping it in the middle of the day just to ensure it's pristine) I'm greeted every time I enter the store with a smile a hello and what and how can we help u & your pet's needs today ! They have been helping me get my rescue puppy healthy since day 1, she was a 7lb 7 week old extremely malnourished pup that survived the hurricane Harvey 2 of her sisters did not make it..... With the help of Ron Mayra Stacy and Justin & the knowledge they have and their love of pets, my puppy is now 34lbs (pics provided in the review) and on her way to a healthy plentiful life with lots of highly nutritious food with all the properMacronutrients and of course Lots and LOTS of healthy chew toys and treats ! Ron will go far and beyond his Managerial duties and personal responsibilities to ensure he is truly giving you and your pet needs the best options with value in mind as well as Mayra and the other employees I mentioned ! Before this review gets to lengthy let's just say there is no sales pitch going on at this location just genuine advice and options for your pets needs. If you are ever unsatisfied with something you have purchased or a price you feel it not comparable in the current industry standard they will do their best to find a solution ! Again a big shout out to Ron the Manager Mayra Justin and Stacy for always being on the same page and same common goal of customer experience & satisfaction ! Job well done guys keep doing just what you are ! I'm a customer for life !

Great customer service. I take my Pet Bella/Cocker Spaniel to get groomed at Petco. The groomers treat Bella very good. I trust them with Bella. Petco Groomers do an excellant job of keeping Bella calm and they treat her with Love.March 5, 2021 ANOTHER JOB WELL DONE. THANK YOU.

If I could I would definitely have set it to no stars because the service me and my pup received today was terrible! I was called less than 20 minutes after dropping my pup off and was told that I would have to bring him another day the earliest being 5 days later, in the morning( which in this case is a Wednesday) due to him being very aggressive to the point that he was harming himself….. I quickly made my way back just to receive my pup half shaved and was told to bring him back in the morning time at my earliest convenience so they can have more time with him… I walked outside and burst into tears and had to get my husband on the phone to calm me down because I was so distraught were I couldn’t even drive. I was so disappointed that I had to go back inside and demand that something was done because I refused to bring my pup home like he was. The cut was so bad that it looked as if my 9 year old got scissor happy with him. Once they took him back in I watched from the window just to be a witness that he was not aggressive at all. I was told I could leave and they would finish him up. Once I came back to pick him up, the finish product was a mess. My pup’s fur was cut uneven, cut too short, and had patches that was completely missed. I feel like Jose did not take pride in taking care of my pup today to were he wasn’t even there when I picked Thor up. To add icing to the cake, I didn’t even receive a report card and I ended up giving a tip that wasn’t deserved at all. I hate that they have you pay before even getting to see what your pup look like….Thor has never been a problem when being groomed at this location but for some reason this is what I was told for today’s visit. I honestly can say this will be my last time giving my service to this location. The service I received was unacceptable.

The on-site staff are fantastic, but the one star is for their corporate and technological issues. We've never had scheduling grooming appointments online but have been unable to do so for one month. Never had any canceled appointments. Never had a no-show. We called the store groomers directly, and they told us they do not have any issues with our dog, and they do not know why we were blocked or how to unblock us from making online appointments. We tried calling corporate customer service but was told they couldn't help us. Literally told us that once we get blocked from online booking, we can't do it for that store anymore. That we have to use another store...So now the only way to make appointments is to call directly, and with the place as busy as they are, usually have to be on hold for 10 minutes and/or no one picks up.

Place is dead, besides the fish in tanks. I saw many gasping, unhappy and no one maintaining them. Aquarium plants have algae, melting. This location does not have the tissue culture plants in cups. Employee/cashier was on phone and ignoring us, no one said anything as we were looking at fish. Petco needs to step-up their game for the aquatic area, it's worn, old, very small and not pleasing to fish keepers, fish are not well, dead fish in tanks, algae, poor assortment, no cherry shrimp, barely any bettas. I'd like to see enthusiastic employees that have interest in the department they work in. Does anyone work at this location besides the cashier? Is there a person dedicated to the aquatic section?? It shows.

The staff has always been very friendly when I visit this location of Petco. The store is always clean. Staff is great about asking if I need help. The manager, Joey, is very attentive. I recently had a situation and he went above and beyond to assist. Managers can't always fix everything, but Joey listens and does what he can. I will continue to make this my preferred Petco location.

Horrible experience. The groomer wanted me to take my dog to the vet to get a grooming. I took my dog across the street to another groomer and they had no problem at all. Petco is such a waste of time. Would never come back here again. The groomer was lazy and did not want to work. He was also very rude.

Wonderful and knowledgeable staff! You will more than likely see the same staff every time you visit. Which is a good thing! Very clean and organized. I would've given 5 stars if the fish supply department was regularly stocked, had more options, and carried what I needed for my FX6.

Took my MIL's Mini poodle for wash and cut, Kendall did an excellent job! Kendall was patient with me corralling the dog and my MIL (she has Dementia) and having to pull up digital vet records. We were overjoyed with the cut and have one happy pup on our hands.UpDate: Kendall gone, last trim was too short, dog covered in ingrown hairs and rash, body wasn't washed. Never returning.

DO NOT SEE KENDALL to have your dog groomed. I have a Yorkie that just needed a bath and a hair trim and he came back shaved to the bone. She basically told me that he moved a lot and she was just done with him so she shaved him. I was mortified and it was a totally horrible experience she has a terrible attitude!

Brought my dog in at the scheduled grooming time and then was called about an hour and a half later that she was taken to the hospital. Her hair is all uneven as if she was rushed, her nails were not touched, and she is bleeding by her ear. I called for a report of what happened to her and was denied any information other than what "the vet says"... when my family is currently at the hospital with my dog. 100% unacceptable and the lack of even giving insight on what happened is beyond heartless. I am beyond disappointed. I'll presume not sharing what happened to the dog parent is a corporate rule so I will never come back to this petco nor any other one.

Never will I ever return to this location. Walked in and wasn’t greeted at all no biggie can careless. Waited for “Jon or John” with grayish white hair and glasses walked up and already seemed put off. Clearly you can tell that I had some sort of injury due to me wearing my shoulder sling after having surgery I let him know that I am here for my online order. 47lb bag of Purina Pro. He checks my ID and the just leaves the dog food on the counter. I ask him for a cart and he points and tells me their over there… okay well I can get it no worries welp just when I thought it wasn’t gonna get worse he then stands there on his phone and I ask him can you help me load it into the cart. He takes a breath and says NOTHING TO ME. Loads it in the cart and that’s it. LUCKILY we had my father in law with me cause I can’t drive. Just disgusted with the lack there of customer service from this place. I’ll go back to PetSmart

I am taking my dog to this place more than 3 years. There were always some incidents which I just closed my eyes. But today after 3 years they decided that my small size Maltipoo is a medium size and I have to pay extra $25 for that. I tried to get some reasonable explanation for that, how it can be after 3 years? The new manager Kendall, she didn't try to explane anything. She was rude and she said I am new manager and decided that she is medium size, that is it..... It looks like Petco doesn' t care about customers satisfaction and hiring this kind of employees who doesn't have any experience how to talk with customers... It is really sad to see how they are losing their loyal customers

Went into the store looking for dry dog food. I had no idea how many different types there were. Then a voice asked "May I help you?" and yes I needed help!! Ashley was/is great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Made some great recommendations and my dog is loving it. Ashley, make sure Ron sees this!!!!

I have been looking to buy a metal kitty litter scooper for awhile and could not find one until I came to the PetCo in Richmond, TX. I keep breaking the plastic ones. I immediately found a very nice wide metal one for $13 at this store and am very happy with it. Also, I bought a second one for some of my outside gardening projects that require sifting soil away from the flower bulbs I am going to be digging up soon.

Great store. The people working there are friendly and knowledgeable. They offer the advice to understand the dog better and the best way to teach them when I took my puppy in. I always find something my dog needs there. Highly recommended.

Not even worth one star there was this rude black guy who didn’t want to work. He had a very big attitude and ignored us when we were trying to check out. When we tried to load our coupon he gave us an attitude and said it takes 12 hours and then just sat there with a big attitude. We have never had this type of problem before and it was our first time there.

We have been coming here for grooming and other needs. Since Linda left, the new groomer is not the same. The quality has varied greatly, and the last haircut for our pup ended up with a skin infection. I believe it was Luis and another lady that were doing the grooming that day, and we had to go back the same day to fix irregular spots that they didn’t cut.The skin infection on Sherman was pretty bad and we ended up going to the vet with a pretty hefty bill.Never coming back here again if this is the new standard.

I usually shop at petco on Mason road because the young lady in the fish department is very knowledgeable and my pick up orders there are timely and accurate. They didn't have the stand I wanted there, so I opted for the Petco on 1093 in Richmond. Order was ready when we got there, but it took a while to find any assistance. No one at the register, no one in the fish department. We waited by the registers and after a few minutes, a clerk came out and helped us out. No big deal though, they had just opened up and were probably setting up the store for the day.

My sister recently brought her dog here. The groomer Jose clearly needs more training. He cut off ALL of his whiskers and he is now acting strangely! He also had dried up spots of blood and irritation on his neck!
