This is specifically a pet boarding service review. I’ve contemplated making this review for a longtime now but ultimately I think it’s important for people seeking to board their pets to understand the risk they’re taking.As many know, the Serpentarium caught fire last August. I was unfortunately boarding my ball python there at the time as I was on vacation in Japan. I received a voicemail at 2 am while abroad informing me that I needed to come pick up my snake ASAP as the building caught fire and they were evacuating all animals. Luckily, I checked my phone briefly in the middle of the night and heard the voicemail. I called them back in tears (because I’m sure as many of you can relate- I absolutely love and adore my little guy) and spoke to someone on the phone trying to confirm that my snake was okay and to understand when I could get him picked up. My friends FaceTimed me while picking my snake up and an employee with soot on her hands handed my snake over, with soot on him, and asked no questions pertaining to their identities or if they knew me, the snake owner. I understand this was an extraordinary emergency, but they didn’t call to let me know my snake had been picked up or to confirm they could pass him along to my friends which somewhat floored me, as I expect boarding services to commit to the care and wellbeing of animals boarded there. I also want to add that since then, there have been no follow ups on how my snake was doing or if I had taken him to a vet to check for injuries.When I originally spoke to the employee, I asked if they would be covering vet bills. At the time, I had no idea if my snake was burned or exposed to smoke and the employee could not confirm his status either, which is why I raised the question. The employee told me she would ask and get back to me. She never did.So, eventually I reached out via Facebook and asked and they said no, they would not cover any vet bills related to the incident. Fortunately, my snake did not have any burns, just soot on him; however, I still took him to the vet to see if he had incurred any internal injuries due to smoke inhalation. I racked up a $350+ vet bill as the vet recommended taking x-rays of my snake’s lungs to confirm if there was any damage. So, then I asked the Serpentarium if they would at least refund me for the boarding days I paid for that were cut short due to the fire and they asked me what dates my snake was boarded because they didn’t have that information any longer. So, I just gave up trying to get any reimbursement and took the L (somewhere around $500 for the vet fees and missed boarding days). I have to make it clear that at no point did anyone reach out and offer to refund me for the boarding days missed or to even check on my snake.I also want to add that when boarding your snake there, you do NOT sign a waiver pertaining to the health and safety of your animal. You only sign a document stating you have to pick your animal up on time or face additional fees or forfeiting your animal. So, I figured this would mean the boarder would take responsibility for any incidents incurred while boarding.I would NOT recommend trusting them to board your pet. In cases of emergencies, they truly don’t take on the responsibility necessary to ensure your pet is safe or even okay in the case of emergencies. Before this, I boarded my snake here a few times. I thought I found the best boarding spot in Dallas and I was wrong. I hope everyone understands that I’m not writing this review to bash this business. I even had a membership here before the incident. I’m writing this review to ensure that pet owners can make a fully educated decision on boarding pets here.I've run out of characters to respond here, but I cannot stress enough that no one ever followed up with me to check on my pet. There was a blatant disregard for my pet and I'm highly offended the owner is suggesting otherwise in their response.

This is an amazing store and they have some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced! I got a background installed in my terrarium a long with some soil and pods. The worker that assisted me with the process of setting it up was Mark and I enjoyed all the help he provided me with! The store is one of one and would recommend it 10 out of 10! Excellent prices on products, especially the crickets. 100 crickets for $6, can’t beat that!

Feeders are highly priced. I'm not sure if they were thawed previously and refrozen, but they were very bloody and messy and smelled once I thawed to feed. Aspen was a good price, but it had bugs upon inspection.

Just bought a red foot tortoise from here. Great service! Hawk and Dru were really helpful and insightful. They answered all our questions without missing a step. Very knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend!

OMG, such a good place to go! I got my frilled dragon baby back today, it is so adorable. The service was great, they helped us set us the "house", gave us great instructions, and they even tried their best to keep everything available under our budget. We would go there often! RECOMMAND for you to go!!! This place is nicer and cleaner than DFW Reptile store, and better price here.

Would give more stars if I could.Been faithful to this shop for just about 2.5 years now. Discovered them when we were desperate for help for a new python (who petco had in an unsuitable enclosure). Staff are always respectful, helpful, and friendly. Attentive, and extremely knowledgeable. The wide range of services they provide make it a one-stop for every reptile owner. High-quality feed, and you can tell each person here genuinely loves the animals.Ally put together a beautiful cage for my python (pictured below) who was ready for an upgrade. Wildly exceeded my expectations, and we were again met with unbelievably great service.

Took our little one to find his first baby dinosaur and the staff was excited to show us their recommendations and let us handle a few lizzies.Although we are still in the research phase rest assure we will return once we are ready because of our first experience with The Serpentarium!

We went in to look at Gargoyle geckos and Will introduced us to a wonderful leopard gecko that had been surrendered that we took home with us. Extremely nice, helpful people that seem to really care about meeting you and introducing you to new family members. We had a great time and my daughter was excited to talk about animals. Will was amazing. Our new leopard was named Sunny and he's happy and healthy in his new home.We live over an hour away but we'll definitely be making the drive back out there if we need something, it's worth it.

We purchased a Ball Python today was helped by Carter. He was extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. He took the time to explain all the different options we had and allowed us to make a decision without pressuring us. Carter designed a tank for us that was beyond our expectations. You could easily tell that Carter is passionate about his job and wants to make sure you have a good experience inside their store. I definitely recommend this store!!! Thanks Carter for all of your help and your willingness to explain everything to us.

Love this place! They are super helpful and knowledgeable about about the reptiles. Each of them own some of them so they can tell you from personal experience as well as professional. The pricing is definitely competitive and they are conveniently located. I purchased my bearded dragon here and will definitely be going back for all my feeders.

I just wanted to give a big shout out to Alex for all his help regarding my Tomato Frog, who sadly passed. He did such an amazing job with her when she was toxing out and completely revamped her enclosure to even include a water feature. I live in Rockwell and definitely make this drive every time i need feeders or have questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and don't make me feel uncomfortable like other places..They even set up a bioactive tank for my ball python. (THANK YOU Alex 🐍💜)She is so happy now!

I mean, where else are you going to get a poison dart frog, unless you travel to Guatemala.Good selection of geckos, turtles, snakes and other animals you just absolutely need to impress your workmates and friends. Apparently poison dart frogs are not poisonous in captivity according to one of the friendly associates, so there goes my idea of hunting squirrels in my backyard with a homemade bow and poison arrows, but they sure are pretty in my paludarium. Great store. (I'm joking about hunting squirrels)
