The person who makes the appointments for grooming was very nice and helpful, so I was looking forward to a good experience with getting my dog groomed for the first time. They told me to make sure and bring my dog's rabies certificate, which I forgot and had to run back home and get. No problem. That was not their fault. Then I was discussing with the groomer what my dog needed to have done, letting her know that my dog was nervous because this was her first time, but that she should be alright because I had given her one of her anti-anxiety pills before we came. That's when the groomer says, "Oh, no! We can't groom your dog if she's on any kind of medication!" I said, "Seriously?? You tell me this now? Why didn't you tell me that along with the other instructions?" They were 100% serious and refused to groom my dog. First - I understand and support the need for me to present a rabies certificate to a groomer and they made sure I knew that. Second - I understand their policy about not grooming a dog on medication without a vet's release. All of that makes sense and I get where they are coming from, BUT all of that important information should be disclosed to a pet owner BEFORE they come to their appointment. Had they been professional enough to tell me this, I would have not given my dog her anxiety medication even though she was about to be in a high stress situation. The entire mess could have been prevented and they would not have wasted my time or theirs.

My husband and I fostered a stray. He was in horrible condition, his skin, nails, and fur were were in serious need of treatment. The ladies helped me out in deciding a package and explained he will have to be shaved down due to having many knots. When we picked him up later he looked and smelled amazing! Petco was definitely one of the most affordable grooming services in the area compared to petsmart and local grooming services. I definitely recommend to be open and honest about expectations and budget at the beginning so their wouldn't be any miscommunication.

Ashley cut my 🐕 nails and buffed them. She did a great job as always. Whenever I ask my vet to do(when she has a regular appt) they don't buff them or clip them short enough. Maxie loves and trusts Miss Ashley. I am very pleased with her services!!!!

Unfortunately they don't take dogs who barks and growls. Bro common, I have been to so many places, they do provide services to my dogs. Maybe you guys are not that expert in all that you do. Maybe you need a proper training on how to handle dogs who barks and growls. Lost my business. Booked appointment twice and was sent home twice. Maybe add to your website a pre-check-in option that allows customers to fill-up an application to which you should add questions about dogs barking and growling. If they say yes, decline their appointments so people don't waste time coming down there and wait in line and be sent home. Got it? You can checkout petsmarts grooming appointments. You will thank me later for my free advice. Huh!

My 5 month old Yorkiepoo, Cairo, came in for a bath and his first haircut. Cairo had some matted areas and I was told that he had to get all of his hair shaved off with the exception of his face. When I picked up Cairo, ALL of his hair was shaved off, including his face. I could not even recognize him whatsoever! I believe there was a better solution to this issue. I believe the groomer could have taken her time to comb out the knots instead of resorting to shaving all of his hair off. Additionally, the groomer was not friendly or patient at all and I felt judged by the condition my dog was in when I brought him in. She also complained how difficult it was to groom him because, in her words “he’s not trained at all”. He’s only 5 months old!! I expected professional services which I did not receive. I will never return to this location, ever again.

Grooming policy is inconsistent, they will turn you away for any reason they can.Then argue with you about the policy they are unable to provide. Being on an anti-inflammatory is not a medical condition that would require the dog to be groomed at a vet. I spoke with other petco locations, they said they will not groom a dog that is on any sedatives or pain killers. he partially tore his ccl a few years ago, no surgery needed thankfully, and his leg is sore from the scar tissue. "Medical condition" psh please
