I have been taking my 2 cats and my dog to this vet for years! They treat my animals as their own and have always taken such great care of them! I appreciate their attention to detail, ability to identify any issues with my animals, and provide them with the best care every time!

It was the week of Christmas and my cat got attacked by dogs and broke his leg and was in bad shape. Took him to urgent care and got his x rays and everything but couldn’t do surgery. Called numerous vet clinics and they all turned me down and didn’t want to give me no info on cost until they saw my cat. Quinlan since the first time picking the phone were super nice and professional and actually cared about my cat. Gave me a quick estimate for surgery and took me in very quick, I believe it was the next day after calling them. Dr. Claxton and his staff deserve all their Christmas wishes to come true! They took my cat and got the surgery done and were super affordable. I can’t speak enough of how good they took care of my cat and I. Definitely recommend this clinic for all your pet needs. Thanks again.

Took my dog to this vet for an allergy shot, Just a shot, out of nowhere my dog has heart warms and instead of an allergy shot he said give my dog pills and now my dog is puking everywhere and blowing snot out of her nose and a horrible cough, I hope this vet office isn't making other people's dogs sick on purpose, Just to see how much money he can get out of our wallets. I DON'T TAKE TO KINDLY TO VETS THAT DO THIS.

Decent place for normal checkups or med refills. If something is ailing your furbaby take the to Greenville or rockwall. These folks don’t care much for sick/injured babies. Also good luck getting an appointment within a week.

We love and trust this clinic. Dr. Claxton has treated my boxer, all my yorkies, and when my daughters Persian cat who no one local would groom and needed a shave down they helped us out.

A month ago I would have given 4 stars. I have been going to this vet for years. Notice the good reviews will refer to a she, while the bad reviews will refer to a he. That's because the good vet, Dr. H, was indeed awesome, she cared about your pet. She is now gone. Dr. C is now the only vet, and by his attitude it seems like he cares more about the money in his pocket and his own ego than his patients and their owners. It is now worth it for me to drive 30 minutes to another vet. My pets mean something to me, as they do to most owners, and it is aggravating having to constantly haggle over keeping the bill down or explain your actions to a know-it-all who knows nothing about you because he didn't take time to read the patient card. With Dr. H I didn't have to worry about these things. She knew my pets and was more than fair on the bill, so that I could concentrate on my babies! Avoid this place until they find a replacement for Dr. H!Update: I'm still going here because they are so incredibly cheap, but the service has definitely suffered. I found out that Dr. Hendel is now at SPCA Dallas, and she is just great so go there if you can but the staff at Quinlan are very nice and helpful just be wary of the doctor and do your research because mistakes get made!

I have nothing but good things to say about this clinic. I have a couple of indoor/outdoor cats that keep getting into tussles with critters that trespass in our yard. Each one of them has had to take a trip to the clinic and they have been so kind. I can tell they love each animal that comes in. They are also very fair on cost of services. I've taken a pet to another local clinic and payed twice what Quinlan Animal Clinic charges.

I have used this veterinary clinic for over 20 years and I have never had a problem in any area that's concerning the staff or the facility. The only bad that I experienced was the problems with my feelings concerning my animals and what was going on with them. I believe many people are giving bad reviews because they don't understand the Quinlan Animal Clinic has been around a very long time! Their business hasn't been to keep up with style or fashion but to help animals and people to be able to get help for their animals. This clinic is not expensive. Check prices before you believe what people are saying. I did price check and they were the less expensive. If you are from the city you may have a problem with a very country small town veterinary clinic. It's not glamorous and the staff doesn't sugar coat their work, they are doing their job to help many animals and people daily. They do the job they are supposed to do but if you have sensitive feelings that's not in their job description.

I realize that there may well be a whole host of variables that I am not considering due to not having been informed of them. But I will readily say this much...When I called the Quinlan Vet and inquired about emergency services they flatly and quickly said that they do not offer ANY kind of special circumstance and or emergency service in ANY way shape or form. So bad news for all a yall who's pets have run afoul of a fast moving car or truck. In an effort to get my pet some help I ended up calling the Emory Vet and they readily told me to bring him in and they would do their best.. so clearly one office cares about animals where the other cares only for the money that they may be worth to treat them.

Please understand Quinlan Animal Clinic is not an emergency clinic, it is a General Practice that has been serving the community for years. That being said there are TONS of clients seen there on a regular basis and only one doctor to see them all! They cannot see every emergency that comes in or there would be no time to see all of the other patients new and old constantly coming in. The people on the schedule that go in for their scheduled appointment times that they made in advance around their own schedules would be left unattended to unseen or even rescheduled for a later date if they just took in any emergency at the time of others appointments. Think of it this way, If you rushed into your regular Dr. office demanding to be seen for an emergency I highly doubt your request would be accommodated and you'd have to be seen at AN EMERGENCY ROOM. The front staff has been nothing but AMAZING and helpful in the event of not having anything available and getting you several other numbers to surrounding clinics and or emergency clinics. This tiny clinic does their best to accommodate the entire town as they are the only clinic here. What ever happened to the phrase "If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all" ? Be kind. And keep in mind this clinic does their absolute best and sometimes that is all they can do!

I have had multiple breeds of animals over the years, I have used vets for each one but never have I dealt with a clinic so unprofessional. First off it was really surprising they don’t know their breeds of dogs as I have a miniature Aussie German shepherd mix and they tried to tell me that she has chihuahua in her. Secondly we had my puppy and my daughters 13year old mix dog, I clip my puppies nails at home however my daughters dog will not let us do it at home we told them we wanted my daughters dogs nails clipped yet they came in and starting clipping my puppies. Mind you my puppy is black, tan and white and my daughters is white (which was marked on their charts) how do you mix them up. Thirdly both received their shots and the night of they were both lethargic and the next night throwing up when we called about this their answer oh that’s normal it will be fine, almost a week later they still aren’t acting themselves. Finding a new vet ASAP

I normally keep my opinions to myself myself, but not when it comes to the care of something I I care dearly about. I called this establishment which up to this point was the caregiver for my dog which suffers from diabetes to see her. Explained to them it was an emergency that she had been in a lot of pain all night and had pretty much just shut down and not able to move. They told us that they couldn't see her due to the fact that they were overbooked and even the relief vet that they had called in was overbooked. Keep in mind that this is one of there patients that they have been treating for diabetes. This doesn't say much for the abilities of the administration in charge of appointments nor does it reflect the passionate care for your pets that's portrayed on their loving website. I was just simply told to take her somewhere else and that's exactly what I will do. Absolutely no compassion or willingness to do anything to accommodate an emergency situation with one of there patients. Needless to say I won't be going back and I always been one to support my local businesses even if it costs a little more and not as convenient just so my money stays in my home town.

Staff is very unprofessional, receptionist yelled at me for asking for a invoice breakdown. Doctor is cold and will make any excuse for extra testing or exams that are not needed. Facility is DIRTY and smells of feces. They locked my 200 pound mastiff in a tiny wire livestock stall, maybe big enough for a small goat but my dog couldn't even turn around in it, overnight after his tail dock and left him there until I picked him up. He was covered in urine, feces, and blood from rubbing his tail stump on the walls of the stall, they didn't even clean him up before giving him back to me. Never take your animals here!

Absolutely horrible customer service! The lady at the front was so rude! I don't get why they treat customers so poorly. I also don't understand why they still don't allow customers to go inside the clinic. Covid is over! My husband has been taking our dogs here to get their yearly checkups for a long time now, but we are done. We will be taking our business else where.

Brought my dog to get neutered. I told them he was aggressive and they told me they'd tell the vet. When I came to pick him up his eyes were bloodshot and hemorrhaging. I flipped and demanded to know what happened. The vet came to talk, didn't apologize once. Told me he tried to bite them so they had to use a catch pole. They strangled my dog with it. I've seen plenty of dogs caught with them including aggressive ones. Their eyes never looked like that. I feel so bad for my dog putting him through being tortured. I will be reporting the vet clinic so nobody else has to go through this. If you can't use a catch pole correctly then you don't use one. They didn't even mention any problems when they called or when I was picking him up until I said something. If I could post pictures of him with his eyes here I would. Do not go to this vet clinic if you care about your animals.

I went here one time & they were amazing!! Buttt 2days ago I took my daughters dog & they refused to see him because they closed in 5 minutes. I explained that he’s been throwing up. He’s weak. Somethings not right. They still refused. Tried to take him back today after I got off but they were already closed. Called the emergency number, but again wouldn’t take him. Said to take him to urgent care. Which the closest one to me is 40 minutes away. They didn’t care. He passed away 20 minutes after trying to take him to Quinlan. I feel like if they would have seen him the day I took him, they could have help me save him.

I have been taking my two labs to Quinlan Animal Clinic for almost 8 years now. The staff and Dr. Claxton are the best! They truly do care about the well being of animals. I do not understand the negative comments posted here at all. Keep in mind folks this is not an emergency clinic, for that you'll have to head into. Garland or Mesquite.

Most of the staff just want to be in charge, there is constant turmoil between staff. The front help are either stoned when they come to work. Argue with customers chase them out the door or they have to stay on mood stabilizing medications to deal. Dr. Claxton is a good man, I feel he is just tired and ready to retire same for Charles. Jennifer is their best an only certified tech and Kim is a real sweet girl. The Veterinary assists try taking over a room and give advice when they shouldn't. I gave up on the clinic and quit and went back to my horse vet. DR Eberhart and his staff, they are the best. Dr. Claxton is a good person, its his staff that is the issue. I wish them well but I wouldn't return. Canton Veterinary clinic is awesome.

This clinic has under-diagnosed my service dog for over 2 years, failing to even attempt to help my dog! Instead, they just charged me over and over and over for the same diagnosis and the same medications. When I finally called, fed up with my dogs, yet again, inflamed ears, the doctor told me that I needed to bring her in again (and of course pay for a SIXTH appointment based solely on her ears) so he could either put her on steroids or put her down, whichever, since i cant afford the highly expensive auto-immune suppressors. I have compiled all of her ear "diagnosis" receipts and am making a malpractice claim against this clinic with the Better Business Bureau for purposely being negligent in treating my animal, while milking money from me time after time. They are the only animal "clinic" in town, and they certainly act like it. I will NEVER subject one of my animals to what they consider treatment ever again.

I will never go back to this vet again! My dog got hit by a car and he would not help him, said it would be a couple thousand to fix him and before they let me make payments but now they wouldn't. I had to put my dog to sleep because I could not afford that. 5 months after they put him to sleep they sent me a coupon with my dead dogs name on it for some parasite medicine! He is dead what good will that coupon do now? So heartless that they couldn't care less!

I brought my little dog in five minutes or so before closing not realizing it b/c my dog was attacked. Therefore not much time to think, just do, & like anyones first reaction, I looked up the closest place to me to get him the immediate care he needed from the terrible wounds he was left with. This place was VERY unprofessional! They didn't even sedate or give him any pain meds after examining him & then proceeding to tell us to take him to Mesquite b/c they couldn't do anything, yet, leaving the mesquite emergency vet they tell me I can take him to this vet AGAIN to get the surgery he requires! I don't get why they didn't even bandage up or clean my baby like Mesquite did for us! Oh yeah it wasn't closing time in Mesquite. They weren't off the clock, yet they had us leave with a bleeding, wounded, hurt, non medicated dog & directions. Mind you we also got caught in bad traffic on 30! I would not recommend taking my pets to this place, I was very displeased & honestly disgusted with how things were ran here.

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!!!!!! We brought our new puppy in to start vaccines. My husband walks up to the counter and the VERY RUDE lady told my husband to take a seat and that she would be with us in a minute. 20 minutes goes by and people are walking and dogs are being called to be seen. I finally walk up to the counter and again the VERY RUDE lady has an attitude with me. She asks if we are new , I said yes and then proceeds to hand me a packet of paper work to fill out!!! This should have been done 20 minutes ago!!! After waiting another 30 minutes a lady who looks to be a vet tech walks out and tells us they had a very sick dog with a highly contagious infection had been in thier office recently and that our dog needed to stay off the floor or our dog could catch it. No signs were put up, no one at the front told us , NOBODY until thet lady walked out. So our BRAND NEW. Puppy had been at this vet for almost an hour and could of caught a highly contagious infection! So unprofessional and very very rude. We will never be back. If our dog gets sick, we will take legal action! DONT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE AT ALL!

I have used Dr claxton for 25 years. A few visits not so good due to my dogs health and age , which are not his fault. Clean environment. Jennifer, Kathy, and Brenda are excellent to me and my fur babies. I appreciate all of you and thank you for all you do! K.holloway

Awesome vet! They are professional, kind, thorough, and fairly priced. I have been there many times with only gear things to say about them...then again I have raised my dog to be a lady, instead of a ravaging beast like that complainer.

The lady at the front desk was rude and down right hateful. I'm sure that the doctor might be wonderful but when you get yelled at for walking in the front door that does not leave a good impression.

This facility has some of the best Doctors and staff that I have ever known. Their prices are very reasonable and they will do thier best to help you , when they can. Dr Claxton is a really good Veterinarian. We will not go to any other place, unless it is after hours.
