Ordered 10cts. Of Armadillidium klugii Montenegro, Armadillidium maculatum Zebra, Cubaris murina Whiteout isopods, and a mixed culture of pink tropical springtails and white temperate springtails on a charcoal substrate.The Good:I am in Oklahoma so shipping was quick. Heat pack wasn’t too hot and wasn’t cold, both of which are good because isopods die from both extremes. Received package in 2 days after receiving the shipment notification. All of the isopods were great breeding size young adults and were all alive on arrival and VERY active, especially the Cubaris. They took well to their new enclosures and I have already seen activity by a few on the surface of the thick leaf litter.The Bad:I would hardly say any aspect of this delivery was “bad” at all. My only slight complaint is that I have yet to see any pink tropical springtails in the culture. I put the majority in a very similar container as what they were delivered: a sterilite tub with a 1-2 inch layer of water under a lump charcoal bed. The rest were placed in very small colonies 2-7 springtails into each of my isopod enclosures. The colony as a whole was rather small so I probably should have ordered more (which I will not hold against the vendor because that would be ludicrous). However, like I stated earlier, there appears to be no pink tropical springtails in the springtail culture.Another slight negative is that the isopods came with coco fiber in their substrate, which is now known to have no nutritional benefit whatsoever to isopods and can potentially cause blockages.Ultimately I am absolutely giving this vendor a five star review because their work is not easy and often goes under-appreciated and over-criticized. The springtails were active at the very least and are taking well to their new enclosures. I am not upset that I was only given white springtails as whites and pinks will eventually compete to fill their niche, and one of the colonies will die off at some point.I did not think to provide photos of the package or containers they were delivered in, all of which were fine. I will add photos of the enclosures they ended up in.

I ordered some isopods via the website. 20 Panda Kings, 20 Pak Chong and 50 Zebras. Fairly priced & they all arrived healthy and well packaged. I’m very satisfied with the communication and speed of shipping. No isopods were lost or injured during these videos lol. I opted for 2 day shipping with 72 hr heat pack (January in Chicago is cold). I also opted to pick them up from my local FedEx hub. from I’m so glad they offered this option. I’ve not had a very good experience in the past with a different isopod seller that resulted in 2 perished cultures. Needless to say TC is a very welcomed positive experience. It’s very relieving to know the care and consideration TC has for their animals. 100% will be back again!

I finally decided to share my experience, I made a simple order of some Dwarf White Isopods to be shipped to me. After not hearing anything for a few days I was surprised to see a random shipping notification about a week later and they were being sent during a cold snap. They arrived in a non insulated box and hardly wrapped in packing paper. No surprise they were all dead. The reason for my one star review is that I was then pretty much forced to either risk another shipment with no live arrival guarantee (risky since they don't pack shipments well and don't pay attention to weather) or pay almost $50 more dollars for next day shipping. ** to respond to the owner who is not being honest, they waited until our temps dropped to ship. One day before or after would have made a different story. Also, I picked the bugs up at the post office as they were held there for pickup. I never let them just “sit outside” - again I would just stay away. There are enough sellers with integrity out there

This place has perfect springtails and isopods perfect for my bioactive terrarium for my crested gecko.Once the bugs settle, I sprinkle some leftover snake shed, and the calcium in the shed makes them breed like crazy.

Just want to say again, the isopods I got(40) powdered oranges have bred to 1000s since 2020. Such a great line you have! Many stay out in the open on the plant side, when I mist with calcium water, they come running. This is nothing compared to the anole tanks over the years. I always mention where I bought these guys at, as I am amazed they have done so well whether tropical or arid set ups. They have also became a main feeder for my anole's tank, she hangs upside down and just drops on them! She watches them like we do as they go about so that is also enrichment for her.

For local pickup, I just took a screenshot of my online cart order and arranged to pickup the afternoon that same day. I called when I arrived and they brought my order out. They take cash or card. The Dubia’s I bought are healthy and the correct size (unless one of our local pet stores). I will definitely order from them from now on.

Judging from the negative reviews on eBay, I see who the scam artist is. Truly unprofessional and we won't do business with again.

UPDATE:Very happy with the response of the business and so quickly. Due to the explanation, I have revised the rating from 4 to 5 stars. The extra "care" shown for the customer was very appreciated.Previous:Love the availability of feeders, but last order of crickets was not good. They arrived in a brown "lunch" bag and were near impossible to get out. More of them landed outside during opening than I would like.Wish you would ship in the deli cup.

A little slow sending out deliveries. If you order something on a Thursday or Friday...it should be shipped out at latest the following Monday. It ends up taking 7 days or more to arrive. Edit* After a couple mistakes everything was corrected. I am very happy with the order I just received. The packing was improved and everything arrived quickly and alive.

Ordered some Isopods and Springtails for my Indonesian Blue Tongue Skink enclosure.Everything arrived overnight via FEDEXMy isopods were in great shape - went straight to work finding a place to live in the new enclosure right away.The springtails were active and moving around when I put them in the enclosure.The price for my order wasn't cheap given the extra cost of Overnight shipping and added Cold Packs - HOWEVER ....I feel that the value is definitely there. Knowing that they will for sure arrive within 24hrs of shipping, and not be delayed causing death to the inhabitants of the package - that peace of mind is EASILY worth the extra cost.Knowing that they are shipping via FedEx and not UPS - even better. (I have HORROR stories of how packages from UPS arrive)I will absolutely be a return customer in the future.

We found TC almost a year ago and have not gone anywhere else since! I was surprised at how close they are to me and that they do curb-side pickup. The owners are so nice, the service is fast, and most of the time I can get same day pickup (cause I forget to order BEFORE I run out of bugs). The bugs are healthy! When I use to buy from the pet stores, half of my bugs were dead writhing a week or so, these things rarely die, and if they do it is only a couple out of the 100 I buy at a time. We love TC for all of our scale-baby needs!!

When I first got my dragon I purchased his insects from a private pet store but he ended up with a gut full of parasites. (I also didn't want to support them for other reasons) Through research and reviews I found TC's and will never go elsewhere. I just came across this company a couple of days ago. After some research I decided to place a small order for some things I needed. Wow! Is the one word that comes to my mind. I ordered on Wednesday and kept an eye on my package tracking. I received my order today. 2 days and my insects were in my hands. They were packaged correctly and not one single dead insect. Their prices are very, very reasonable compared to other companies out there. I now know that I will only be ordering from TC insects in the future.

Very nice and professional.I have a small chicken farm and needed heat packs for shipping day old chicks. I searched "reptile store" on Google and TC Insects was the first on the list that had them and was willing to sell to me. I don't think it is an item normally for sale but rather their own shipping Supplies they were willing to sell to me. I don't even think price was marked up.

I bought 200 silkworms from TC and on my first shipment nearly half didn’t make it. I blame fed ex for using my box like a football. Some of the chow had come loose and crushed my soon to be lizard food friend. I messaged TC with photos and videos they didn’t respond right away.. but when they did they didn’t hesitate to take care of me and sent another order out. I’m hoping I can get some of them to become moths and I can get my own eggs. As silkworms are expensive but TC was the least expensive ones I could find! Thanks again for taking care of me!

Cute farm house pick up location at this family business in North Houston. The feeders insects are plump and juicy. I like to order in advance but sometimes when I am in a pinch I just swing by and Feeder Insects from their prepared menu. The owners are super nice and Tommy gave me all sort of tips to make my order go a long way.If you love supporting family owned business with great products then this is the place to shop. My daughter also got to hold a cute little Chameleon.

So happy to know there is a place in Houston that sells feeder insects for my reptile babies at low prices. Awesome customer service. Drove 40 minutes just to get fruit flies and isopods and was worth the drive. Also, very nice packaging they come in very clear containers and the bugs don't look messy or dead at all. Way better than getting your feeder insects from Petco or PetSmart which come all dead and are to expensive.. REALLY RECOMMEND FOR ANYWONE LOOKING for feeders insects for their reptiles.
