My fiancé had inquired about a dog that was posted online. This dog was an identical match to our current dog, we where told that we would be able to see this dog first at 11 am on wed 2/14/24 however another person was allowed to take the dog without us being notified we had already taken steps ( paid money ) to have our house prepared for a new friend … we where torn apart when we where denied the ability to even see the dog before he was taken away … I don’t want to play the race card but in this instance I know that’s what happened due to the other person being a fancy white person.

Started volunteering to walk the dogs so they can get out of their cages for a bit. Stories of how they ended up there are heartbreaking. Took a quick look at the cats and kittens - yes, i would love to take all of them home. If you have a couple hours a week to spare, I know Calhoun County Humane Society could sure use your help!

I gotta tell you folks, this is a first rate place run by some fist rate people. They're doing wonderful work over here with what little the state allows them. Btw, donations are ALWAYS appreciated! This is a backbreaking and sometimes heartbreaking job. Stop by, lend a hand, and say " hi" to Debbie for me.🙏😸✌️

Perfect place. Clean and friendly. Willing to work with people to help the pets in there. And they are always willing to let people volunteer it helps community and the pets to have that human interaction. The pets are adorable no matter if your looking for kittens are puppies. And the Fur babies that are older are so friendly and full of love and energy.

I just want to say on how heartbreaking it was not being able to see a dog that I had an appointment to see after speaking with the lady about my interest and made me aware that I would be first to interact. I’m just in tears

The gals that's worked there are absolutely amazing exclamation point the animals are so well care for comma and loved comma but we would like to find homes for each and every one of them of one of them
