I have been a customer of this little shack of restaurant since they opened 10+ years ago. Never disappointed in their food despite its curb appeal. This shack stands out from the more appealing tourist attractions and shops as it is built in-between two obviously separate buildings. The welcoming atmosphere and hustle of the women behind the counter is very reminiscent of your grandmother's kitchen; complete with one of the best burgers in the area.Parking: Street parking spots available however they are limited.

Lovely little spot with tasty food, great service, and yummy vegan and plant based options. While in Texas finding a good salad or vegan anything can be a challenge, this place will hit the spot. I ordered #12 I think for a portobello burger with golden sweet potatoes fries. It came out fast, fries were delicious and burger was full of flavor. Thank you I will be back!! Did I mention it has perfect location with local jewelry store next door?

You get to eat inside (which is kinda outside but with a roof) or outside (without a roof). We picked a lively day to eat outside, so we did. Do be careful when you go in to order, the ceiling is a little low, and you don't want to bump your head. The burgers are pretty good. They've got the real old fashion flavor I was expecting to experience! Not to many places hit that note. One of us tried the fish sandwich and was not impressed.

Literally a dive!! Family operated. They put heart and soul into some great kitchen burgers. Come here and give your money to local-private business. Fries and mozzarella sticks were great!! Very polite and courteous. I had the Ben’s BBQ and the wife had John Dillinger.

The food was outstanding. The staff was ultra polite. I had the cucumber water with tasted great. I liked the last 60s / early 70s theme. Refined me off eating at restaurants in the warmly 70s even we would come down for a vacation. The food serving was very large and reasonably priced. Worth the visit and money. The restrooms were clean.

I am so sorry to say that this little burger shack was extremely disappointing. I remember when they first opened, the food and atmosphere were amazing. Burgers were fresh and tasty, and the decor was so cute and unique (gave me Austin vibes). However, (maybe new owners?) here most recently, eating here was so horrible. Tables were dirty, walls were so dusty and chipping paint, the only AC was two window units with so much dust and mold (causing a bad smell), and bad service. When it comes to the food, the burger was dry, bread was old and hard, fries were not fresh, mayo was sitting out in the heat all day, and all this was served on plates that didn’t even look washed. Also, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!! :(

Wow, what can I say. Showed up right as they opened and they found out it was our first time here. The lady was extremely helpful on making up our minds. If you are looking for a fantastic burger that is different. Not sure you could find better anywhere.Ordered the gyro burger (lamb) and with the home made tzaki sauce over the top.

Excellent burgers! After a fun day on South Padre we stopped and had dinner. Each burger was yummy both the meat and bun were excellent. We also had the mushrooms and fried pickles which were eaten quickly.

Great burgers and chicken sandwiches in eclectic settingLimited menu, no frills. Local favorite- known for easy going way. 1/2 lb. Burgers are cooked fresh and not pressed - steamed ... so juicy. Place is definitely a hole in a wall- and old wood BUT it is a great place for lunch. Usually just a cook and waitress but great service. Be patient if you go with a crowd. They have patio seating - dog friendly. But they also have a small eat in area that is air conditioned with TV. Cash only but ATM on premises (May have to try a couple of times as it is an older model) no sweet and low but Splenda if that is important.Burgers are in $10 range but if you add bacon may pay a bit more. Fries with meal. Soft drinks and Tea - large glasses

What a near place-inside or out! I enjoyed a scrumptious grilled chicken breast sandwich with avocado, grilled onions, bacon, and all of the trimmings! I washed it down with refreshing Cucumber water--- just the ticket on this warm, Summer day! Friendly, attentive, and personable individuals working here! They made me feel right at home. I'll be back! Thanks again!

I'll start with the bad so I can end on a positive note. When we walked in we stood around for a few minutes because nobody was around to tell us if we sit ourselves or wait, eventually I found someone and asked and we sat down. The words "beer garden" are in the name. I expected more than a few domestic beers and a few Mexican beers...big let down. Water is only served bottled which was a little annoying and when our bottle came out it was splattered with what looked like salsa. The place is cash only and they do have a sign and an ATM, but it would be nice if the server told us just to make sure we can pay. The service was ok, not bad, but nothing spectacular. I could have done without her texting while I'm trying to pay.The good: The burger and fries were very good! I would get food from here again but only to go.

Wonderful place for those visiting Port Isabel or South Padre. It's right next door to the lighthouse, which at times has movie nights. The staff is very friendly, there's a spot for those who prefer the indoors like myself and an outdoor place to enjoy your email. It's also a very delicious burger. They also have a Vegetarian option!

OMG the burgers here were so delicious I was considering going back the next day for another one! Juicy, cooked to perfection. The veggies were fresh and crisp. The bun perfectly toasted. The fries just right. I ordered the #9 burger, comes with bacon, egg and cheese 🤤🤤🤤 literally better than my homemade burgers. The "decor" of the place is not too well, the outside seating is that of someone's old backyard but then have a indoor seating area, with ac and tv, that's better option then sitting with the flies. But the burgers, the best!

Called the Burger Shack with the change in ownership. Relaxed, laid back beach vibe. Burgers were great. Stoner burger had everything on it and did not disappoint. The meat itself could use a little more seasoning but still worth the trip. Good fries.

A very unique place.. to say the least... Don't let the RUSTIC outside (or inside) fool you, they have great burgers. If you're looking for something besides the typical fast food burger joint stop by and enjoy a fantastic burger (get the Chile cheese burger,)!!

Great doesn't even begin to describe the food or atmosphere here at this burger shack! Burgers so tender and juicy , fried pickles that leave you wanting more, and the service is outstanding !! You can't go wrong coming here, no matter what you order!! The Stoner burger is beyond amazing.

Went on a Friday afternoon after walking around the square and touring the Lighthouse. We had fried pickles and a 420 Burger. They were cooked fresh to order and they were very good eats. I recommended Will and Jack's "Burger Shack" on the square.

Cool place to eat a great burger. Patio is pet friendly as well. Price is reasonable for a burger everything is about 10 bucks

Not sure why people rave about this place. The burgers are avg @ best. Mine was not very hot & it was dry for 13 bucks a burger, they serve it plain with little packets of condiments instead of making it to order. The place itself is basically a hut with no air conditioning with 90 degree temps & the cook sweating over the grill. I won't go back thats for sure.
