Younger gentleman kept following me around the store when I was looking at fishing gear I assume racial profiling?? Still bought some gear and live shrimp but will not return. Your better of going to gilberts.

This is not your ordinary bait shop! They have anything and everything you might need or think of for fishing! They also have food and souvenirs. They have an awesome selection of caps, hats, visors, t-shirts, and shirts designed specifically for fishing! Even as storm clouds rolled in, I asked if I could go out behind their bait shop and take pictures of the bridge and the water. They were so gracious and accommodating to allow me to go out on the backside of their bait shop and snap a few pics! ¡Mil gracias! I'll definitely be back.

Second year in SPI for vacation and this time the visit was suboptimal. Couldn't tell if the person we asked about bait didn't know what he was talking about or didn't care but came off very short. Aside from that, usually it's a fantastic experience. Great selection of live bait, sunshirts, tackle, and anything else you'd expect from a bait shop.

Nice little bait shop in Port Isabel. We fish a lot, and this place quickly became our "go to" for our fishing needs. Great selection of live and fresh bait as well as frozen. They also sell fresh seafood. Employees are friendly and helpful.

I went in to buy a surf rod and all that I needed to fish from the beach, I intended to spend $500 to $700 in gear, I told the kid that I knew nothing about surf fishing but was experienced fly fishing in Colorado. He helped me pick out a 9' rod and 20lb braded line to put on the rod. I also picked out some weights, hooks, rod holders and swivels, I continued to shop and put stuff on the counter. The kid asked that I pay before finishing shopping. He said that is the way he does it. I explained that I had more to purchase and would pay him when I was finished shopping. He insisted that I pay and that I could continue to shop and they would just ring me up again for another transaction after I paid. I paid him and told him I guess we are done because I didn't want to do a second transaction. He ran my credit card and finalized the transaction. I left and went to Walmart and purchased another $350 in fishing gear from Walmart. Im not sure why he did not want me to purchase from them?? I would have gladly purchased everything from the Quick Stop. I'm in Texas for 4 months and would have purchased everything from a local shop vs a large chain. I hope the owner responds....??

Very convenient stop for fisherman and souvenir hunters alike. Great looking fresh fish and shrimp. I will be buying shrimp in a few weeks and will update this review accordingly if it is not great. Great bait shop. Everything you need to catch the big ones.

Great bait and friendly service. I grabbed some frozen mullet and the kind gentleman offered me some fresh mullet. I gladly accepted the offer. Thanks again for the kind gesture. The skipjack was of good quality as was the shines. We took some live shrimp to boot. Was a good day fishing and it started off at this bait stand. We will return.

You need a Slushee or a white and zebra striped Elephant? This store has most everything else but those two items.Very nice people running this establishment but terribly overpriced items inside.It does have a lot of things inside andIt hasn't seemed to have changed much in past 10 years- except the "creative paint job" done to the outside of the building. That is certainly eye catching

Used to be a good place to buy bait. Now it's a great place to get ripped off with BABY SHRIMP they forcibly make you purchase because "once they're in your bucket, they can't return them because of contaminants". They washed my brand new little white bait bucket out in front of me, then dumped a pint of the smallest shrimp I've ever seen in my life (95% under 2 inches). I will never go there again.

Like always, they had fresh shrimp to take home to cook up. Prices are a bit high but it's good quality. Clothing and Knick nacks Expensive! Over all fishing supplies, bait and helpful suggestions are great!

If you are in need of live bait Quik Stop has live shrimp and crappie. Located in Port Isabel My grandchildren get to fish off the back docks of the Condos we own on South Padre Island And they catch loads of fish with the live shrimp. The best time to fish is after 8pm
