We decided to come check this place out after reading all the great reviews. Food did not disappoint. It was very homemade and the flour tortillas were the on point. The portions are kind of small but I don't eat a lot so it wasn't a problem for me. My kids were still hungry though. It wait time was long and getting the food took a while also. The service was alright, could have been better. I think the restaurant needs more staff for its size.

Flat out love this place. Add in that it is a Port Isabel, Texas favorite. We recommend a stop in when visiting. This is where the locals eat. The prices are reasonable, the portions will fill you and the staff is great. The parking lot is now redone so it's easier to find a spot. Everything is good here, but breakfast is where it's at!!Vegetarian options: They have saladParking: Now that the road construction is complete and the town fixed their lot parking is better. However, this is a good place so spots fill quick in the morning and weekend.Kid-friendliness: The menu has many choices kids will enjoy.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps here which is not an issue to go inside. However, they can get busy so it can be tight inside.

The moment you walk in they are courteous and very welcoming. We came for breakfast and I had the Mexican plate#1 and a small chorizo and bean taco. My husband had the huevos rancheros and were perfect. The salsa on the table was great flavor and just the right amount of spice. The tortillas are homemade and amazing. All the food is very well seasoned. Excellent food and reasonably priced. Thank you and many blessings of success for your family.

Love this place on the way home from a great vacation spot. Good service. Wonderful pricing. Great flavor. Love the little mom and pops feel too. When you come down to South Padre finding the local hole in the wall joints is the way to go. This place is that hole in the wall. Not only is it extremely tasty, but it is affordable. A family of six can eat for less than $80. The parking might scare some away from this place, but find a spot and get inside to enjoy the atmosphere and food.

I’ve never left a review on google (that in itself says a lot)! The restaurant feels very welcoming (like I’m at my grandmas kitchen). The service was amazing!! My plate omg… my jaw dropped! It’s the homemade tortillas for me. I got the “taco contodo”, and it was delicious. I overall loved it!! I made sure to tell them before leaving it was the best breakfast I’ve ever had.

Small family restaurant serving authentic Mexican food. Wasn't sure what to expect but it was fairly busy but we were greeted immediately and warmly. The way I knew it was homemade was when my wife asked if something could be tweaked or replaced and the waitress said of course. I was worried that since the pricing was so affordable that it wouldn't be satisfying. I was wrong. The portions weren't huge but definitely satisfying. I actually brought some home cause I couldn't finish it. The food also had great flavor. The service was great from everyone we interacted with. The only problem was that we went once so I didn't get to sample more of the food. When we get back in the area I will go back.

Small mom and pop restaurant so don't expect anything fancy. You feel like you are in a house instead of a restaurant. First of the staff is a little slow but they were busy and staff is great you get the southern hospitality. Food was delicious and big portions I had 2 breakfast tacos a small and big as you can see in the picture it's more like big and huge. Very reasonable prices too. Overall it was a great experience and would recommend.

The staff were friendly and the food was really good and very affordable. Plus they make their tortillas in house! The food may not look super fancy but the flavors were good and it’s so filling. When we went they were packed, but the service was still timely and friendly.

A restauratuer told me once that my reviews would be helpful if the negatives mentioned things that can be changed by the owner. Saying it “sucks” never helps anyone and is bad karma.In that vein, let me state the POSITIVES:- open Sunday mornings. (Therefore can be crowded if you come after 8:30 or so.)- solid takes on breakfast classics. I had the western omelette, which came out piping hot. A medium sized portion. Not sure if 2- or 3-egg but it tasted good.- friendly and competent staff.- good value.- good place for small groups and for kids.NEGATIVES:- biggest is the plastic utensils. Makes eating difficult. I was trying to stab a couple of home fries and they squirted out of the plate and onto my lap. Yes, I could have *maybe* used better technique. But the plates are not disposable and are washed, so there’s little reason from a budget or labor standpoint this couldn’t be adjusted. If this one aspect is changed, I’d be glad to edit this review. I also wish they’d use those cheap plastic drinking cups instead of styrofoam. Easier to hold and drink with and better on the environment.Anything else that I’d point out as a negative is petty. It was a good meal.

This is a "hole in the wall" restaurant with great food that comes to you quickly. It's popular, so sometimes you may have a short wait, but it's worth it. The large tacos are so big, they hang off both sides of the oval plates they are served on. You don't go here for the atmosphere. You go for the food and excellent prices. Don't miss it.Parking: Parking can be a challenge when they are busy.

It was truly a treat to eat here. The staff was so friendly. The food was excellent and homemade. I had the French Toast, eggs and bacon, the French Toast was crunchy and sweet enough. My husband had the enchalada plate which he said wad good. The best part was the handmade corn tortia so good. And like all the reviews say the prices are great. Try all you can to either have breakfast or lunch or dinner here, you won't regret it.

My family and I make a trip to SPI at least twice a year from San Antonio. Isabel’s cafe is a must stop for us. Food is delicious and hotThe restaurant is family owned and operated very clean and welcomingThe staff is on pointThis is a very popular place among locals and vacationers so you should prepare to come early or plan to wait a whileI’m an inpatient person but I will wait to come eat here

The best part of this place is the simplicity of good food. Consider this a hidden gem near SPI with authentic Mexican food. You might have a hard time choosing between lunch or breakfast. You can actually order both for less than most places charge for one. This is a place to visit again and again. The staff is very friendly too.
