ZERO STARS. My 9 month pup had to quarantine after being on his leash in my own yard. After paying an insane price to this place, I was assured twice via call by the shelter manager that my dog was in a larger kennel with a bunch of blankets during FREEZING weather and that if there was a concern he wasn’t doing well they’d call. (They didn’t) We showed up unannounced to the gate locked on the 10th day to pick my dog up. They allowed us in and brought my dog out from an outdoor shed area in a small crate kennel with one blanket in the cold. The blanket and my pup smelled like urine. He was in the corner of the kennel and looked terrified. He lost a lot of weight. Upon bringing him home, he won’t eat/drink, spirit is broken (he’s different) and most of all he’s very sick. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE.

These people are so rude and don’t care about animals at all. The police had to call for them to come help me and the police were nicer and more compassionate. If I could give zero stars I would. Best to go on Facebook and contact smaller shelters or rescue teams. This place is a nightmare and based on other reviews, it seems like they abuse the animals too.

Called for assistance with a wild animal caught in a trap. They were rude and the man hung up on me. Also they are not very smart, on their website they spelled fortunate as “fortunate”.

I adopted my little Lily, a female cocker-Cavalier King Charles spaniel mix from All American almost 5 years ago and they were great. Not only did they start calling her by her new name for me before I got up there to pick her up so she would get used to it but they were very understanding when I had to reschedule her pick up date a couple of times. They seem to take very good care of the animals and I am so glad a place like this exists.

Our sweet boy got out while we were packing and we went looking for him. Well all American dogs found him before we did and took him back to our apartment. Well they gave us a ticket even though we were out looking for him all night. Well now that he’s back home and ever since the 2 men that picked him up brought him back, he’s been acting very funny and scared. He also won’t eat or drink since they picked him up. The side of his face is swollen which wasn’t like that before. He was gone for 12 hours and we looked for him for hours and hours. Something happened with my dog with these people and I really don’t appreciate it. Also don’t appreciate the fact that the “men” beat on my door so loud it scared our little baby. They were also so very disgustingly rude as well. Wouldn’t trust this place with any animal whatsoever. Too bad there isn’t a zero star review, even that would be too nice.

Excellent service! Saves lives! Like every other city, theres an organization that agrees to take in strays found on the streets. When our cows got out in another city we had to go pay to “bail” them out. We were out of town and they kept them for several days. Broke people get upset and appalled when they have to pay because their pet got rescued. But those are the same kind of ppl that don’t understand you have to work to pay the electric bill and mortgage. They’d rather have their pets roaming the streets.

Adopted a cat that was pregnant and we didn't know it. Looked for a home for the kittens on social media for a couple of months to no avail. Wife calls the shelter and the guy is super rude to her on the phone, tells her she should have gotten the cat spayed, and lets her know it will be a $125 fee to take them in. So she drives all the way to Pilot Point and is already really upset about , but we wanted to give the kittens the best chance for adoption while they are young and super cute. When she gets there, the same guy tells her it will be $125 PER kitten and shames her and makes her feel bad for bringing them in. Just got off the phone with her and she is bawling her eyes out. Great job jerks!

My dog got out of our new house. It very far, if I know that they was close to my job, I would have left from there and made it in 30 min instead of a hour and half. But my baby was ok. She back home safe. If you don't know this is maybe where your dog would be and may not know it. Just look and call and see. But after you dog get out for the 3rd time, and my dog is small she is a Chihuahua mix they make you pay, 75.00 first time and after that, I am not sure. But I made sure if she get lose again, I am not going after her or go there and get her they can keep her.

Very friendly and kind folks! They are a bit far out from just about anywhere but the cool thing was although I was on the edge of showing up after hours the Gentlemen conveyed that they would wait on me making them late to get home to their own personal lives with family or whatever. I wouldn't have traded for shorter trip to pick up someone's animal again, that's right want my pup in the first place but I knew what she must mean to her owner and went to get her and deliver her to get poppa....... I would hope someone would do the same and that it'd be the same experience!!! THANK YOU ALL AMERICAN DOGS ANIMAL RESCUE!!!!!!

We adopted our pup in July of 2019. The staff were amazing! After explaining that we had a 100 lb lab, they allowed us to bring Chief to meet potential adoptees. From looking at the website, we had picked one dog, She didn't work with our male but they suggested Chester. He is less than 40# (25 when we got him) but they play together like they are the same size. This picture is from their first meeting. In answer to some of the negative reviews: Yes, there is a fee. It would cost to neuter them and chip them at the vet anyway. Most shelters aren't able to pick up out of their area. My MIL couldn't surrender her dog where she lived because there wasn't a shelter in her county. I recommend this place to everyone that is looking to adopt!

Great shelter, the staff members will work with you. You can call them after you adopt a dog and get really good tips and tricks on how to help that dog adjust. The adoption price is high, but soooo worth it for our big boy Clipper. <3 i love him so much. He loves his brother Colt, too. :)

Absolutely horrible place. They run a racket with local police departments to charge you fees if your pet escapes. The wind blew my fence down and my dog got out, police picked him up and immediately told this place to come get him even though they have holding facilities. Bad attitudes and tried to charge me extra because they supposedly stayed late even though I clearly told them I wasn’t coming the same day. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.

For anyone adopting a dog from here, be aware that they DO NOT deworm the dogs. While I’m pretty upset that they do not deworm dogs immediately that come into their facility, especially dogs that were obviously strays, they did ultimately take in my dog when he was a stray and in terrible condition. I believe that they saved his life. He was certainly well taken care of while there. All the staff was very friendly and helpful when we adopted our dog, but I wish they would have informed us to give our dog a dewormer. I would have gone out that day and bought him a dewormer, rather than waiting over a week for his vet visit to find out that he had hookworms. Thankfully my vet was aware that they do not deworm (this may universal, not sure if it’s specifically all American) and ran a fecal. I think they are doing great work, but should disclose that they do not deworm to adopters.

My wife and I feed the animals on a regular basis. It's a kick when the donkeys and goats recognize our vehicle and come racing to the fence. The staff is very nice and accomodating.

Absolutely appalling service. First they'll charge you and arm and a leg to drop off the stray we found in a field then they flat out refuse to take her because she's "not in their jurisdiction" even after I said I would drive her to them. I was specifically directed to this place and got absolutely no assistance. I'm disgusted this is actually supposed to be a "rescue" I guess only the dogs they deem worthy.

The building where you meet the dog is clean & does not smell. Of course you pick the animal on line & make an appointment to see them. The dog we picked was happy to see the people who work there, so I know they are treated good.

My dog was on quarantine and when we got him back we knew he was not the same anymore we found out that he got Parvo there! this facility stunk soooo bad! Please don’t take your dogs there. Our dog is fighting for his life now.

Went to this rescue with a friend who was donating leftover puppy food and flea spray. I was happy to see a well-staffed, clean place that's helping companion animals.

Great place where you can really tell that all the workers genuinely care for the animals and their well being, definitely the ideal place to find a furry friend!

I think they focus more on being a third party code enforcement instead of being an animal shelter.
