Made an appointment at PB on Spring Creek in Plano for 2 new tires installation and alignment for 1 pm on 2/17/24. Showed up, was told it will be 2 hours wait BEFORE THEY CAN EVEN START working on my car. I questioned what was the point of an appointment then and was offered to come back the next day at 9 am. Next day they took my car in and installed 2 new tires in the front instead of the back. At the checkout I asked if the new tires were installed in the back and was told yes. I pointed out that the new ones were indeed in the front and the car was brought back in and the wheels were swapped with no apology of any sort as if they were doing me a favor.While putting old tires back in my SUV, the guy clipped my rear view camera, tried to put it back, was unable to and then closed the car and left hoping I won't notice... Apology was only offered after I confronted him.Alignment report was not included in the paperwork when I left so I had to call back and ask for it. Also, can anybody explain to me what extra "tire handling fee" is when I am already paying for tire installation and balancing?2 years ago I went to the same place to do the same thing and the experience was very different then.Couple of suggestions for the manager: if you are running 2 hours late, maybe call a customer to let them know and not waste their time? Train your employees to know where to put new tires? If you didn't train them properly, check their work before assuring the customer of the work done?

EDIT: Reduced from 5 stars to 3. Two months later, and not happy. Rear brakes started to grind when coming to a stop. Could not figure out why or where the sound was coming from as the grinding was intermittent, and I couldn't duplicate the sound. Took it back in to get brakes re-checked. Mechanic (don't know his name), pulled me out of the lobby and took me straight back to my car, which had been pulled from the bay. To me, that was a red flag, because it gave the appearance they didn't want to be bothered and wanted to move on to the next job they would be paid for. He told me it was the brake pedal making the grinding sound (which didn't make sense). He also told me I would have to get it checked by the dealer. Fast-forward a few days, I was finally able to duplicate the sound. The grinding came from the rear. I pulled the wheels off on my own, and checked the brakes and rotors on my own. I adjusted the emergency brake on my own. It's been 5 days and no grinding. Now, tell me why I have to fix professional mechanics' mistakes and was able to determine, ON MY OWN, what the issue was? And I am not a certified mechanic. I removed 2 stars because of the wrong diagnosis and because I had to fix the issue on my own. Please don't play with brakes - it is a safety issue and families with children depend on PROFESSIONALS to get the job done right the first time.The gentlemen at the front desk (one, I believe was the mechanic) were courteous and knowledgeable. The rear brake work was done quickly and thoroughly. Very happy overall. Thank you!

Bought four new tires. Price and service was good, but the tire technician spent as much time texting on his cell phone as he did working on installing tires. They need to have a no cell phone policy while working on customers cars especially since you can watch them work through the guest lounge window.

I initially met with PK and he is always professional and wonderful and customer service focused. I usually have an outstanding experience as well and the care consideration put on my vehicle is always tremendous but this visit I had a rude experience with an employee. I always appreciate good service when it comes to my vehicle but I do not know if I will return or not based on my experience with this gentleman.

This location is absolutely worthless. I got a quote for some tires on my pick up and the price was reasonable so I told them I would be coming in the following week. Came in with my girlfriend and they refuse to take my vehicle in for tire replacement. What really caused me to lose my cool was when they said we can’t serve you because she is here and she is not on the quote. I said oh really, does this have something to do with her being Hispanic. They said no, no, no of course not. I could tell they were lying through their teeth. Then when I asked them what the quote was for the Tigers the quote was Almost $1000 more than originally estimated. These are racist, ignorant POS people. I will never do business with them ever again.

I recently visited this Pep Boys location with the expectation of receiving a routine tire rotation, for which I had made an appointment in advance. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment.Upon arrival, I was met by the manager, who informed me that the staff was too busy to honor my scheduled appointment. Despite my efforts to explain the purpose of making an appointment and my expectation of timely service, the manager adamantly refused to provide the service I had booked.This level of customer service is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation I had previously associated with Pep Boys. This encounter has left me questioning the commitment to customer satisfaction at the Plano location.I understand that businesses face challenges, particularly during busy periods, but the refusal to honor a scheduled appointment is inexcusable. Customers make appointments precisely to avoid inconvenience and to ensure a smoother experience. The complete disregard for my scheduled appointment has left me extremely dissatisfied. This is something you would never see from the competition like Discount tire and Costco. Thank you for wasting my Saturday.

Horrible place. Everytime I come here it’s always something new. First time I was here the technician kept revving my car as loud as he could and honking my air horn. This time was the limit. Went in and was immediately greeted with attitude. Questions were taken as if I was dumb. I was simply getting a tire put on a rim and in 30 minutes I walked in and I asked for an update and the cashier looked at me with attitude and just answered “update?” And scoffed. Then to my surprise some man walked over and opened the door and yelled at this worker to get off his phone and do my rim to which the worker just walked over and stood by my rim still texting. The man who had originally gave me attitude started apologizing but it was too late. 40 minutes to change a tire? This is ridiculous and needs to be resolved

Had a flat tire late afternoon, called 3 different shops they were the only one able to fix it the same day. Jose took my car in right away after learning that I have to work the next 4 days. I truly appreciate their help, thank you so much!

I stopped a minute before they opened. They opened on time, talked to me about my alignment issue and my car was in the shop in less than 5 minutes. Received report on what they did and what they recommended and they actually explained everything to me. Will come back again.

I contacted the Plano store about warranty work on my truck since the Denton store closed. I have receipts, spoke with mgr and he made my appt (he was going to be on vacation and said asst mgr would know all about it). Showed up for my appt and asst mgr had no knowledge of my appt and parts had not been ordered (rack and pinion for 04 Dodge Diesel, Connie Graham). I drove to the Plano store that is about an hour from me, power steering topped off before I left and it screamed at me the whole way. Asst mgr was rude when I was trying to talk to him, kept saying he knew nothing about it. I think he was doing other things on computer before, during and maybe after I left that didn't have anything to do with my appt. He said he did not know when my parts would arrive (today, tomorrow or a few days). He said they would contact me when they arrived, I am still waiting and it's been about 7 months, truck still sitting. I had to drive all the way back home with power steering screaming at me. I stopped at a different auto parts store and bought power steering fluid to get home. Infuriated at the asst mgr behavior, but he didn't really seem to even care. Manager was nice when speaking on the phone but no parts got ordered and waiting for my appt that he made for me. Truck still parked, so sad big corporate and the people that work for them can do this to others.

When we went for oil change there, was Person named JOSE, We just asked him the price of synthetic oil change and he said it is $104, Out of our curiosity, We said it used to be 70 bucks for synthetic oil change,Instead of saying, they don’t do that for that price ,He disrespectfully answered saying, You guys can head somewhere else for such cheap detergent and pencil mixed oils.We never asked for his advice or opinion, He could have just said Yes or No.BAD Customer service

I’ve been here before with my broken down car and had a good experience. This week I went to get my car AC serviced at Kwik Kar and they quoted me over $2k for a repair I didn’t need. Instead I took it to Pep Boys, was told I didn’t need that repair, and wasn’t even charged for their inspection. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Manager refused to help us with our flat tire. Said it would take at least an hour (there were no customers at the store besides us and no one in line -- in the driveway). It was late in the day and about 25 minutes until closing. The employee was hiding behind the front desk (pretending to not be there).

I visit this pep boys all the time and I highly recommend it. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and always looking to help you out. The tech’s and the service staff in the shop are Knowledgeable and courteous. Don’t forget to pick up your Pep Boys membership deal card thing, as there are a lot of benefits to be had from it. I love this Pep Boys, and I’m so happy that it’s really close to my house.

The service took about 45 minutes. I was easily able to use the coupon that was emailed to me and I saved $20, thankfully.The car was brought in within 10 minutes of my arrival. I was able to watch the maintenance from the waiting area. Everyone was polite and professional. Thanks for a great experience.Also got 4 tires for black Friday sale. But 2 get 2 free. Great deal and to avoid upset with customers make sure I’m future advertising to say the installation is an additional charge per tire

I have been coming to this Pep Boys for many years, and fortunately I can say that I had never have a bad experience with them. Not everything is perfect, but if you are reasonable in your requests and expectations, they will deliver and make their best effort to keep you satisfied. I have had very good experiences with Mario, who is always thorough inspecting my vehicles and doing top notch mechanical work without trying to push unnecessary things. In the reception area, I have deal with the guy named PK multiple times, and he is always trying his best to help the customers, and I have had purchased my last 4 set of tires from PK. Very satisfied with the results.

This location is very deceitful. Manager will lie to you and overly quote you prices. If you are a WOMAN they think they can tell you anything and you will believe it. I was truly disappointed with the service I received. Yes I needed brakes but they were trying to have me purchase rotors and I did not even need new rotors they just wanted more money out of me. If you don’t know anything about cars they will get over on you. Ladies beware.

Sunday morning, I got a nail in my tire. I needed the car for work on Monday morning. While most of the tire shops are closed on Sunday, Pep Boys were open. They got the job turned around pretty quick, the tire is fully functional again. The staff working there were very polite and kept me up to date on the progress and how long it would take. Highly recc. Pep Boys. They have a knowledgeable crew who can handle most vehicle repair jobs. Their prices are very reasonable also.

Horrible experience. Do not go to this location!I went in for a battery change for my girlfriend’s car; Ford 2016 sub 80000 because I didn't want to drive back to my house to change it needed more tools than normal because of the location of the battery. After seeing 4 mechanics around the car I went out to see her intake taken apart I told them that is unnecessary and that if you go through the top one 14mm and lifter on the windshield wiper arm two torque bolts and a 4 plastic clips and the battery comes out right below the front window. I was ignored and later got a check engine light for one of the intake sensors went back "fix" that and now continue to have engine codes regarding intake and parts that didn't need to come apart in the first place.

Haven’t completed the service completely. I went for wheel stud replacement and they have to replace my spare tire with the actual tire, which was in my trunk. I told the person from front desk that my original tore needs to be swapped with spare tire after the stud fixing. I even asked twice when they called me that my car was ready for pick-up and they assured that it’s completed. Up on my pickup that I realized they failed to swap my tire. I asked about it and they kept me waiting for 15-20mins and told me that I had to come back again tomorrow for that wheel swapping. Totally messed up.
