Had a feeder fly emergency of sorts when the current batch unexpectedly died and I suddenly had 100 hungry baby mantises getting ornery. This was the only place in the area I could find that sells them, both the large and small varieties, and at better prices than those you can get shipped online.But I came for the flies, stayed for squeeing at all the critters. Huge variety of insects & reptiles, and they seem to keep their site updated regularly with what's available. They advertise pet boarding as well, which I imagine is a godsend for those with scaly and/or invertebrate pets that need a sitter--I bet they're not as easy to find as furry pet hotels! They seem to take great pride in the care of their tenants, with very clean and modular enclosures to ensure adaptability to the right size for each resident. Highly recommend, looking forward to stopping in again soon.

I bought our first tarantula there. Vesper helped us decide on a T. albo and even suggested which one she suspected was more likely ♀ and she was right. We later bought a GBB and Vesper was right again! I love this place for the invert selection and knowledge. Oh yeah I also bought a sassy potato that strongly resembles a Northern blue-tongued skink from them. 😂

Amazing private tour by Crysta today! We got to take four boys for an hour tour before the store opened & it was a dream-come-true for my reptile-loving little guy. Crysta was so kind to all of us - answering all of the questions & letting us hold many animals (snake, lizard, roach). Excellent option for a small birthday party! Highly recommend! (PS - We also own a spotted leopard gecko purchased from here & have loved our guys plus all of the store’s support!)

This is by far the best place in the greater DFW area to go for herps and critters.I've built 6 enclosures out of this store, and the staff has always been eager to help answer questions. Not only are they knowledgeable about the products, but also the animals they sell. I have avoided many unnecessary trips to the vet because of their knowledge base.This enclosure was built with the advice and guidance of the staff here.

This place is one of the best pet stores I've ever visited. I drove an hour and a half just because of the reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. The reptiles and supplies are reasonably priced. I love that you must have proof of a proper enclosure to take home a pet. This place wants to sell to actual reptile owners. They offer to board reptiles which not a lot of pet stores do. The employees know what they're talking about when you ask them questions. I will be back!

Dude this place is awesome. My husband and I go regularly just to see allllll the reptiles they have. They have so many reptiles to choose from. The staff is super nice and helpful. They are also very educated and passionate about these reptiles. I posted a photo of our Schneider skink Gideon that we got from them! I highly recommend paying a visit even if it's just for fun.

I absolutely love it here. They have an amazing amount of reptiles and birds. The whole experience is incredible. Even if you just want something fun to do, it is awesome. I come here for my bearded dragon. I buy supplies and live food and they always deliver top notch quality! The staff is incredible and always friendly.

Enclosure and setups were great and they definitely had a variety of invertebrates, reptiles, etc. Lots of supplies too! Was helped by one fairly knowledgeable employee and appreciated the information he provided.The only con is that you can't purchase an animal without proof of setup. While I do respect this as I've worked in both the pet store and exotic veterinary communities and always advocated for quality husbandry, it was a bit of a downer when we left the store empty handed after driving an hour and a half to get there. We were stuck between deciding which animal we wanted to adopt and when we asked if we could purchase all the supplies in house to ensure we had the adequate set up, we were turned down.Since we aren't local, driving an hour and a half home, buying and setting something up, then driving all the way back to see if the animal is still available, or if they approve of the setup unfortunately isn't practical for our situation. We are avid reptile lovers and caretakers so missing out on adopting a species we were looking a while for was a bummer.Hopefully in the future their adoption/purchase method can be restructured to ensure a good home for the animal while also aiding the customer so they return and are overall happy with the experience.My recommendation is to call before to check what animals they have available and to receive general information on the one you plan to purchase!Response to the owner: Sorry you feel that way! Just based things off of our experience to make others aware. I'm sure this does not occur every day in your store, it could have been misinformed or new employees which happens sometimes! Thanks for the response though, much appreciated!

Was denied purchase of a bearded dragon due to my 4x2x2 bio active enclosure being “too big”. Feels great doing month of research making sure everything was setup perfectly and driving almost two hours out here to be turned away by salespeople who don’t there is no issue in starting a juvy in their adult enclosure.

I absolutely love going there. I have gotten multiple reptiles, spiders, rats, and feeders and fruit flies for my snakes, spiders, and turtles. The is staff extremely friendly And extremely knowledgeable. I really like going here because I know that they know what they’re talking about and the right person will be there to answer my questions. I can’t tell you how many years that I have gone here and they are the best. I can always count on this place to give me the best, the best advice and the best product. We love DFW Reptarium! They have a wide selection of reptiles for sale as well as to view like a mini zoo! They also have the supplies to support your new family member from enclosures, lights, heating, enrichment, and food. They have live as well as frozen feeders and a large variety of feeder insects and insects to support bioactive enclosures.We have bought two pets from them, a ball python and a bearded dragon. We have bought supplies, food, and enclosures for our other reptiles as well. It's a bit of a drive, but well worth it!

So thankful for the kindness of all the workers there! It was so welcoming, I’ve been to another local shop whose vibes were just snooty. The people here are so sweet and have patience! I did some research before picking up our new pets for my daughters vivarium but they were helpful to ask any questions we had. We picked up some dairy cows for $20 and some mealworms and bark too!We will definitely be back once we get another tank to get a spider!

Came in this morning with my kids. My kids were super excited to see different types of reptiles and even wanted to touch and hold some. When I went in I wasn’t greeted but they seemed a little busy anyways. It was amazing seeing the snakes and so on.. I ask one of the employees if it would be possible if my kids could touch or hold any of the animals and she stated that I would have to be wanting to purchase it if we wanted to hold of I guess even touch the reptiles. But she did state that if I wanted to know about any of the reptiles she could get a brochure…. It was disappointing that in order for us to touch any of the reptiles that we would have to purchase or think about purchasing it. This was my first and sadly my last time. Overall it’s gets a 2 star.

We went to get my son his first snake as part of his 10th birthday. The store was full of snakes, lizards, turtles and more. It was almost like going to the zoo/aquarium.After looking around and taking in the sights, Justin came over to help us. He was very knowledgeable and helpful as we zeroed in on the snake we were gong to get. He was great with my kids and explained how to best care for and maintain our snake and habitat. They had everything we needed to finish furnishing our new snake enclosure, and at reasonable prices.I highly recommend DFW Reptarium for any and all of your needs with more exotic critters. We will be back!

I'll have to give then a five, the people have been so chill, I get the prices are intense for worms for the bearded dragons so yes ordering does top it. But I love the decorations, so many pieces of wood to apply to my tank, I was planning to go out to the woods. And then I saw all the pieces there. Solid!

This store is awesome!!!!I'm building a houseplant terarrium and not very knowledgeable about the clean up critters but the staff here is so helpful. They're friendly, fun, knowledgeable and most importantly, approachable!!!I was able to get my temperate springtail culture and even found some gorgeous live moss! They have almost everything you could think of and will happily guide you along the way. I'm excited to return and see what other moss they get in stock.Please visit them. It's such a fun store and the employees make it welcoming and wonderful.

I foster for a tortoise rescue. So often we get tortoises from families who were misinformed as to the extent of care the animals require and as a result they often come to us with health issues. Our daughter who has been a huge help with the fosters had her heart set on a hatchling. Outside of rescuing, the only place I would trust to go to for a new addition to our family is DFW Reptarium. It made me so happy to see that they required customers to provide photos of set up prior to purchase and that the staff is knowledgeable, passionate, and makes sure you know what is required prior to purchase. Healthy animals, clean conditions, quality products, and knowledgeable staff! I wish all pet stores were operated like this!

We revisited the store after realizing they moved, and quite honestly it feels very different than it did several years ago. Way better than any other reptile, bird, or amphibian store we've ever been to. The notices on animal habitats that they require proof of proper setup to allow the purchase of the animal is amazing, thanks for making sure animals go to proper homes!If you haven't been in a while, then you should give them a visit!

My son had his birthday at the DFW Reptarium yesterday and it was the best experience! We did not know what to expect when we first booked the party but my son LOVES this place so we went for it! First of all, Christa (the person who runs the party) was AMAZING with the kids. She was super communicative the entire time from the booking of the party all the way to the end. I cannot tell you how knowledgeable she is about the reptiles and how good she is with the kids! I was so impressed with her! I would definitely recommend DFW Reptarium for a birthday party to anyone who likes this place because you will not be disappointed! She even had a sign with my son’s name outside the store when we arrived. He felt extra special when he saw it!

I love this place! It's been my go-to for frozen feeders for my boa for a few years now. It's busy on a Saturday, but they are well staffed with friendly and knowledgeable folks. Most importantly, the animals are clearly well taken care of - healthy and calm.

They have a great range of things. Sort of 7-11 of reptile needs. But the only downside is that things there are pricey. That’s it. I go there only when Petsmart or Petco does not have the thing I am looking for. Overall, great place with nice people.

We have a family lizard and usually go to the neighborhood pet store but since they were out of crickets we came here. OMG, I felt like I was at the Fair Park reptile house. This place is awesome. Amazing selection of reptiles and matching selection of terrariums and accessories. They even have some talkative parots in the back.

Incredibly awesome experience all three times we went. We had been considering getting a slink or bearded dragon for a while, but had lots of questions before we comitted.Our first visit we asked a lot of questions and learned a lot, including what kind of costs we could expect. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and we didn't feel like we were rushed into a purchase at all. In fact, they even made sure we knew we could safely use a smaller enclosure than the one we were considering.A week later, we made our second trip to buy and set up the enclosure, and our third to bring home the Blue Tongued Skink, which they graciously held for us while we got everything set up at home with a deposit down. Since then, they've continued to help and support us when we called with a few questions to clarify some things about our skinks habits and care.I cannot recommend them enough, whether you're looking for a pet, or just want to learn more about them. The staff is amazing!*Everything in the photos of the enclosure was purchased at the reptarium

I ALWAYS go here for supplies when I build a new tank for reptiles/amphibians. I live over an hour away, but it’s so worth it. Their store is stocked with awesome supplies and a great selection of feeders/bugs. The habitats (honestly, just pure art) are where I get some inspiration from when I build my natural bioactive set ups. They even have much more exotic animals that are fun to watch and visually interact with (can be a fun outing for kids, just be mindful it is still a store). The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. They made the experience perfect, and even though they were SUPER busy (it’s the weekend, as to be expected) they stayed so sweet and offered to help us take our tank to our car. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, I’ve always loved this place. Can’t wait to go back again! Thank you to the staff for being such rockstars.
