We came into town on a whim and looked at Deluxe Hotel. My heart sank. Then we found Coastal Cottages and my heart soared!! We met Marianne, she showed us around, we had an incredible evening. Her hospitality was so wonderful. I feel like we made a new friend! Now we know exactly where to go when we come back. Thank you for an incredible experience! We will be back soon!Rooms: We walked to the Bay Sunday night and saw lots of little sea life, picked up some oyster shells and saw a flounder! Monday morning we walked to The Point where the locals go. We got coffee and some snacks. Next time we will have breakfast. It looked and smelled delicious - a local favorite! We were sad Mike's on Main is closed on Monday's but understand...then we went to a couple shrimp docks with our cousin. Great visit!Safety: Felt safe walking at night. No problem sleeping. Marianne has a key code. The door must be closed all the way or there's an alarm that alerts. We made sure it was closed.Walkability: Palacios is easy to walk around. Bay is close and people are friendly.Food & drinks: We ate with family so not sure but hope to try Mike's on Main next time and have breakfast at The Point. We went to the Asian market but prices have gone up too much to buy our favorite Ginseng drink.

We so enjoyed our time in the cottage. It was so adorable and had every amenity needed. Gary and Marianne are wonderful hosts. They have indoor and outdoor games as well as boogie boards and chairs for the beach. The screened in porch faces the east for beautiful sunrises. Right across the street from the water, you have a nice walkway that takes you to a nice playground if you have children.Rooms: This is a quaint cottage. Very cute and lots of decorating details to make it very beachy and very comfortable.Nearby activities: Fishing, walking, and playground.Safety: Key code door lock. Screened in porch. Plenty of lighting outside.Walkability: Walking path along the beach right across the street from the cottage. About 1 1/2 milesFood & drinks: Several places to eat within walking distance. I highly recommend Danny's Seafood.

We travel around quite a bit and stay different places often. The last few places even though reviews were good were absolutely a let down.We decided to take a spontaneous fishing trip to palacios and they happened to have availability. Both my fiancé and I were so pleased. The owners are incredible, friendly, welcoming, and go out of their way to help in any way possible. The home was spotless, beautiful views, very comfortable bed, there’s not a single complaint we could have. Out of hundreds of places we’ve stayed, this little place truly made the biggest impression. We will most definitely be back, and have told many people about how impressed we were.If you’re up in the air about it, just do it! Fantastic find.

The host are great people.The location was perfect , the most beautiful sunrise you can possibly see. I’m definitely going back.Walkability: The walkway by the beach was beautiful and very relaxing.

Nice and clean. Wonderful view of bay. Great walkway to fish or just stroll. Owner is very friendly. Would definately stay there again!!!!!
