This is such a fun event! Lots of entertainment and fun for young and old. Our kids enjoyed bows and ax throwing. The joust was great to see with horses. Lots to drink and eat. Great people watching with most wearing costumes.

This was my first time to Sherwood forest and definitely will not be my last. Make sure you take plenty of cash to pay for food. They charge a fee to use credit or debit cards. The grounds are well kept and the bathrooms are very clean. They provide feminine hygiene products, handmade soaps from the vendors for you to try and even incense burning so it smells wonderful. Great people watching with the majority of attendees dressed in Renaissance attire.

Great day out of the house. Full of different types of entertainment venues all outdoors. Plenty of eateries expect to pay $15 per person to eat. Beer is $7 for sixteen ounce can and glass of wine about the same. Enjoy a day out in the forest. Visiting two days in April found it was real busy later part of them being open for the season.

This was my second year going and it was super fun! Tons of shopping options, plenty of food options too. They have various forms of entertainment, but I live for the jousting. There's plenty of shade throughout the faire, but the jousting arena has multiple large canopies in their seating area. Perfect to get out of the Texas sun.

Well, on the drive up there from San Antonio, Mother Nature decided to go from cloudy day to thunderstorm. If we didn't have tickets for oysterbake in San Antonio on Sunday, we would've gotten a room and attended Sunday. That being said, we are adventurers, so we pulled out broken umbrellas and small umbrellas and splashed through puddles and made the best out of it. They are open, rain, or shine, but the vendor can close, which they did,so only 4 live performance out of 150 that were shown on the website. Once again, it was our first time. So, no jousting, falonry, fire juggling, or knife throwing, but there were a couple bands playing at pubs. Not much shelter to stay dry. We made the best of it. We did help push another vehicle out of mud. Photo of before during and afterward.

We always have a fun full day and always can't wait to get back to next year. For more fun, food, and the great time and all the new people you get to meet.

This place is fun if you like mythological stuff, food is kinda overpriced but so many good sights and stages fun to visit. Definitely recommend it. If you're going on a sunny Day bring your own drinks. Buy tickets online for convenience. They do have costume shop at the entrance if you wanna rent a costume.

Sherwood Forest Faire is the perfect place to lose yourself in wonder and whimsical magic. Dressing up and seeing shows is a great part of the faire. Artisan's Shoppes with tons of crafts for every thing you could think of.

Had a great time as usual. Didn't get too many pictures because we were having so much fun and there was so much to see. Did snag one of the wonderful lady dressed as the Tardis and the amazing henna done on my kiddo.

First time visiting this ren. faire, and we loved it. Great atmosphere and tons of fun vendors & great food. I love that majority of the vendors were selling homemade wares, and not cheap knockoffs purchased in bulk. We will def. be making this an annual trip.

Attending the Sherwood Forest Faire was absolutely a cool experience! The vendors brought the medieval era to life with their intricate crafts and delectable treats. From handcrafted leather goods to tantalizing turkey legs, there was something to satisfy every craving. The ambiance was enchanting, with jesters, knights, and fair maidens adding to the magical atmosphere. But what truly made the experience unforgettable were the fun-loving people who attended. Their enthusiasm and camaraderie created a sense of community that made me feel like I was part of something truly special.I can't wait to return to Sherwood Forest Faire for another adventure!

We love the faire! We love it all! The shows, the music, the food, the mead! This one is much less crowded than the (larger) one a bit farther away. I enjoy this one more because of that. We will look into being friends of the faire next year as we already have been 4 times this year. My husband rented his outfit this time, it was $45 for the day! We love to bring all our friends here. We will be back again for sure.

Friends of Faire Camping is one of the best values in entertainment. The team that runs this Faire has made an amazing community for us regulars and that community makes it an even better experience for first timers. You won’t find a better Renaissance Faire in the US - and we went to 9 last year.

We try to make this annually! Great atmosphere, very fun activities, and high quality vendors. Parking is organized and the plus is that it is only about an hour outside of Austin. Delicious food as well, have to grab a turkey leg! Wonderful family outing, highly recommend!

Went with my family and out of town family on Easter Sunday. My boy loved all the Easter bunnies and egg hunting all day, plus seeing Jesus. The food is great, especially the duck wings and adult milkshake. Brother in law got a slice of pizza, then realized that wasn't the way to go and got a braut. The pineapple ice cream in a pineapple is great to cool you down. The shows, which are plenty, are entertaining, to say the least.

We had a lot of fun. My toddler loved the merry go round and seeing the horses. It was definitely a bonus to have attended on Easter and participating in the egg hunt. I really enjoy all the shops and the atmosphere.

The best and most organized part was the parking. Pricing was as expected, lots of things to buy!My first time going, I wS expecting more middle ages, more skits, music and battles. Not so much, mostly pirates. It was basically a flea market.

Large outdoor space. Largely shady but bring sunscreen if you burn easily. A lot of the fair buildings could really benefit from expansion and over the years, the fair itself has gotten really crowded. The fair is still a good time with good food options but long lines, scenic setting, and fun performances

We came to this fair in its first year. Now in year 15 it has matured into a nice Ren Fair.

This is the most amazing place on earth. Have had it as my home Faire for 14 of the 15 yrs it has been going. The show is the most friendly, fun, and interactive. The people are super friendly. The campgrounds are the funnest place to hang out after hours. Parties, gatherings, and some of the best fun to be had. And the cost for all this is still very inexpensive.

I've been going for a few years now and it is always a good time. Performers and vendors are so so kind, the food is delicious, and the entertainment is so amazing. I bring new friends every year and love seeing how this faire continues to grow and evolve!

Fun place, lots of food options, unfortunately didn't look like there's was a single sit down restaurant but I guess the whole place isn't in use when the fair isn't being used. Did stalls arent very expensive compared to other similar placesIn terms of activities there's not too many things to do but enough for spending half a day. Ticket price is quite fair.

Great fun. Lots of music and kid activities. Can be costly. We were careful and still spent $150 for the day and we came before noon, which is 2 for price of 1 entrance fees. Loved all the costumes.

We had a fantastic time this year, moreso than last. The inflation bug has definitely ravaged the event, though. You may want to bring food if you don't want to pay $18 for a turkey leg.

Sherwood Forest is rapidly becoming, what I think, is the best Faire in Texas. It is still smaller than TRF, but has the artisans creating beautiful and fun pieces and works of art. It has shows, entertainers and lots of live music. It doesn't matter whether you come dressed up or in regular clothes, you will have a good time. Bring cash because some of the vendors and eateries only take cash.My husband and I enjoy the archery. The bows used are all wooden along with the arrows. Everyday of Faire they compete on the joust field at 1:00. So come and enjoy!!!

This place is like the Texas renaissance festival but cheaper and in my opinion with a nicer, smaller feel. While you still pay 'faire' prices for things, it doesn't feel as much expensive as TRF does. It has many of the same artists participate in both festivals. I also think the grounds is a little nicer here as it is more wooded with more shade.
