I use to love this store. I grew up shopping at this store. Was my grandmother’s favorite. But here as of late, the experience has been uncomfortable for me as I AM singlehandedly being followed as if they are trying to make sure I’m not stealing. I can’t even shop in peace and the last time I went in there, it was worse as if they are purposely not wanting me shopping there because I’m black. It’s uncomfortable and unsettling. Get a camera system so that shoppers don’t have to worry about your employees looking up your behind and ur face every time I turn around. I will never go back.

great place to shop they have helpful cashiers and stockers all over the store.. if you have a question or need help finding anything you don't have to look for assistance.. everyone should support their local merchants I guarantee you would miss it if it wasn't here and if everybody shops at Walmart then that's what what happened to losers they have the best meat of any store ever I hope they stay open forever and never close great store to shop for groceries .

Great grocery store. It the only one in ore city but absolutely love this small town family owned store not too many around anymore unfortunately. Just wish the prices weren't so high because there are a lot of poverty level families living here that sometimes cant afford food but that's not isolated to Newsomes that's every store seems like... Newsomes prices for their merchandise has most likely gone up too. - sad.

Love to shop locally and it’s a pure joy to shop here. Clean store and when the pandemic was at its worst they had cleaning products and tissue paper. They have great variety and I hope to see more sugar free products for diabetics, like soft drinks and such. They’ve really made a lot of improvements this past year I hope they continue to.

Here is the truth, Sean Morgan doesn't know what he is doing.I was warned by a guy named Jacob that he over orders then blames the department manager when the product goes out of date.When I took over dairy I recommended ordering less milk than he had advised me to order the first 2 weeks.Guess what, I threw out 10 crates of milk those 2 weeks.I decided to order what I knew the store was moving based on sales and simple math and and suddenly once ordering what I recommended in the first place; we weren't having anything go out of date.He over ordered cookie dough for the 4th, blamed me for it when it went out of date as well.This is the very reason I quit, I refused to continually be blamed for his ordering incompetence.Then today I ask to simply borrow a strip of tape. They hand me the tape then ask me to hand it back and buy my own.I said "Wow, that is sad and pathetic. " and walked to my vehicle.Sean Morgan followed me to my vehicle and started punching my driver side window, I asked him to step away or I will call the police.As I rolled my window down he knocked my phone across the car.The man has issues and likely has a drug problem, probably why he is working at his mother's grocery store and not Eastman.Wow, Sean Morgan had me criminal trespassed because of this, what a pathetic being.

Prices are Way too high. Shouldn’t take advantage of the small community they have like that. Me & my husband lived here 2 years and drive 25 minutes to Longview to go to wal mart for our grocery shopping. My mom lived on a fixed income with no vehicle & had to get her groceries there. The prices were so high her food wouldn’t last her the month.

Stopped to check out the local grocery store in Ore City, Texas. Sign says it has been in business since 1917 and is family owned. Does have a clean yet small produce section, good selection of fresh cut meats, and frozen foods. Has basic dairy items and some household goods. Even has toys for the younger shoppers. Very friendly and helpful staff and still provides carry-out to the vehicle.

Everyone is so friendly, and helpful. Always has a greeting for you when you come in. Small grocery a true small town grocery. Prices are good comparable to large stores. I would rather shop there than any place else. Glad we have Newsomes.

I love that it's still family owned, and it means the world to me to get the familiar "hey, Claire" every time I walk in the doors! Great little small town grocery. It's located in Ore City, TX. Very helpful staff showing us where all the stuff we needed for a fish fry at Lake O' The Pines in East Texas. Surprisingly, they had most of what we needed without having to drive 30 miles.

I was visiting the area from out of town and needed a few groceries. I was very impressed with the nice selection of meats and produce. The lady who helped me in the deli was very nice and accommodating. The check out clerks were very friendly.

Older lady checking me out was very unfriendly. Never greeted me. The guy did not offer to carry out my 6 bags after bagging, including a gallon of milk, gatorades, eggs, bread, etc... I am lucky my eggs and bread did not get messed up. 1st and only time going here! Back to Brookshires!
