Was on our way home from touring the Stark House, and had heard nothing but good things about this restaurant. So had to try it out while we were here.Chose the famous „steam table“, and it didn’t disappoint. My wife instantly declared we’d be going back.I had the CFS with the standard mashed potatoes and green beans. Of course white gravy. Plus roll & Apple cobbler. Only the cobbler did me in because of my allergy to cinnamon.Next time I’m trying the beef tips, they looked tasty.My wife had gumbo, CFC, greens and black eyed peas. She was ecstatic.Couldn’t get any pictures because the food didn’t last long enough. Probably next time.Remember the portions are huge!Parking: Parking is so close to the road, you have to be very careful backing up.

There were 4 people in my party. Three of us had burgers and the other had a Chicken fried chicken. The burgers had great flavor, but there was more bun than burger. After receiving my bill I noticed they charged $1.25 for a slice of cheese (which seems a little steep). They also have an up charge when you add a side to your plate. My side I wanted was less than the up charge so I had to make sure I had them ring them up separately instead of the plate. There was also a $1.50 charge for a bun exchange which took an $8 burger to $10.75 by the time you add cheese and the bun substitution and then another $3.99 if you add a side. So it ends up being $14.74 for a burger with cheese, a different bun, and a side. Just don’t seem like what I thought I was getting myself into when I walked in the place. The lighting is very awkward. It seems they have shop lights hung in their dining room which gave a not so cozy feeling. They also had entirely too much stuff on the tables for the size of the tables to accommodate 4 people. The chicken fried chicken looked great and was very large. It did however lack in flavor. We skipped on dessert and got the bill. To my surprise it was $68.43 for three burgers, a chicken fried chicken, fried pickles, and 2 sodas. Even if you take off the pickles and the soda that’s $14.11 a head and three of us had burgers! There is also a credit card fee if you use a card. Mine was $2.74. So just be aware of all the fees and how much you’re really getting charged when you sit down to eat. My family of 4 burger lunch just cost me $80!!

First time going to Robert’s Steakhouse…hands down the best comfort food in the area…staff is friendly, didn’t even bat an eye when we came in after 0730 (we thought they closed at 9pm) and they didn’t even try to rush us out the door…prices excellent based on HUGE portion sizes…pix doesn’t do the size justice …WILL be a repeat customer

First of all the Southern charm was here and on full effect with the staff and I loved every bit of the hospitality shown. I ordered some boudin and some chicken fried chicken and it was... Alot. Lord knows I can pack it away and I still had to finish this off the next day. Quality-wise you will definitely not be disappointed but be prepared for a togo box.

First time visiting Orange and while driving around today we spotted Roberts and decided to go back and give it a try. The restaurant is large and can hold quite a few people. It was clean and decorated so cute! The waitstaff are friendly and amazing at their job. The food was excellent. My husband and I split the 16 oz ribeye. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. If you are in Orange look them up and try them out.

I was absolutely astonished on how they went about my experience. I went there to try again and yet they continue to disappoint. Roberts Steakhouse acts like they care and support military families, yet when we showed valid military ID they turned us down. It isn’t about the 10% that we would get off it was the fact of the how they treated us after it had happened. Both Robert, who is the owner, and his daughter turned us down immediately after we showed them multiple valid military ID’s. If you are a military family I highly suggest you take your business elsewhere because you most definitely will not be treated right here. They talked down to us, refused a valid ID, and was honestly just rude. I will however say that our server Ms.Cary was amazing! She tried to do what she can but was unable to help as she was very limited with her options. She was consistently checking on us, refilling drinks without us needed to ask her, and overall just a wonderful server! I will not however return with my business to this establishment!!!

Very good lobster but the steak wasn't done and I had to send it back three times and it was still red they acted like they could only cook a steak how they want it prepared. Also watch your credit card mine got ran twice and they had to refund me.

I've eaten at Robert for years, and it's been great. The food is always delicious. Other than please bring back fried pickles we've only had one issue. We have a very large family, and our kids eat like Olympic athletes, and while the price has risen continuously over the years,, we've never considered it overpriced. However, it's not cheap, as a family we spend about $220 to $250 most times, but we've hit $350ish once or twice over the years, with extended family. Either I, or my wife pay the entire bill, but on our last visit, we learned that groups of 8 or more are automatically charged a gratuity, even though we were never told. I only learned this after my wife asked me how much to tip, in front of the cashier, who was kind enough to inform us. We have been tipping on top of what appears to be a 15% gratuity, an additional 10% to 20%, depending on the service. I agree that I should have done a better job at checking my receipt, but I never worried about it at Robert's. We have not been back since, as we felt robbed and slightly annoyed at the policy. We will probably attend again, but it's not my first choice anymore.

IF YOUR GOING TO THE CASINO* STOP IN ORANGE TEXAS *Roberts Restaurant/Meat Market is only about a mile or so from the highway.You have to stop here.The restaurant is so good.We had the steam table.We had Chicken fried steak going to the Casino and Liver and onions heading home.The Chicken fried steak was enormous.Comes with 2 sides, bread and dessert.The waitresses are friendly and the restaurant is clean.Next to the restaurant is a old fashioned meat market.I bought 3 links of beef sausage.It's so good. Tastes like it's been smoked and it wasn't expensive!!!!3 large links was only 12.00.Not greasy nor fatty.Totally delicious.Planning a trip from College Station to Orange Texas to buy more.It's that good.

So glad they are open again. Excellent place to get dam good quality meat and steaks for a very affordable price.The restaurant us almost as good as I remember. Yet they are still getting back on their feet after the fire. The 18oz ribeye I ordered was dam good. So the food quality is still top notch. Happy to have Robert's open again.

Usually I have a wonderful experience at Roberts. Today being mother's Day my son brought me to eat dinner. When we walked in they didn't ask if we wanted a booth or a table, they just put us at a table. Then we placed our order, it took over 40 minutes to get our food, my steak was cold and dried out my mashed potatoes were cold as well. My mother wanted fried okra instead of salad with her steak and added green beans, they still brought her a salad and took off her green beans. When they brought out the food I had asked for a large rice and brown gravy to go so that way it would be ready by time we were done. By this time our drinks were low after all it was 40 minutes, my mom had to get the waitresses attention and asked her three times for a refill, that's like another 10 minutes and then we asked for to go plates. She brought me and my mother one but not my son. Then we told her how to split up a ticket, and that took a while to get our ticket back to us. When we got the ticket back instead of ringing us up for a large rice, they run it up for one rice and three sides which cost $8. And didn't even bother to say anything when we ordered it, which I would have ordered two small rice and gravy. No one should ever have to pay $8 for FN side order. The only time I will ever come back to this restaurant is if my waitress is Sherry. She is the best waitress there and does not ignore her customers and treat them so badly. I mean if you're paying 70 bucks for food at least it can be warm. Thank you for your time,A very dissatisfied customerSandra Russell

We got here late after a long day on the road. Even though they were closing within 30 minutes, Ruby showed us great hospitality. The chef even came out to check on how our steaks were. I appreciate that at the end of a long day, they still had southern charm. I had a tamale and enchilada combo. It came with a cold plate taco also. The entrees were excellent! The only downside was that the refried beans were fairly bland. Otherwise, excellent dinner!
