Fun and unique place to go! They have many antiques at reasonable prices. Just watch your step going in, it's a bit small

Stopped in here. Really cool spot. Picked up a couple of good deals. Prices are not bad like you see in so many shops. If your looking for a nice piece and in the area stop at Mel's. The owner Mel is really cool. He and I negotiated a couple of block and tackle sets. He is really a tough negotiator. I tried all my old pawn shop tactics. I say Mel is a man I would be proud to know.

I went to Mel's Antiques & Collectibles last year 2018 while visiting family in Brownsville and loved it. I'm a big antique shopper living in the Houston area and I go to many shops in a 100 mile radius of this area, and Mel's is one of favorite, and since it's about 6 hours south of Houston I haven't been back since last year, but the good news is in a couple of weeks when my kids are out for Spring Break we are all going back to Brownsville to visit family and my main goal is to go back to Mel's and find some more antique treasures there. Last year I bought several cool items and could barely fit them in my wife's vehicle. I almost made my kids ride back to Houston on the El Expresso bus, "Just kidding" :) This year we're going in my truck so hopefully I find some cool stuff to load up. That's pretty much the only antique store I found in the valley in that area. Not only was it a great antique store, but the owners an older couple were very nice, and I enjoyed talking to them. This store is amazing, the first I went in, it felt like I went back in time. They have many antiques and collectibles that it makes it look like a museum. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend anyone passing by to visit.

Wow! What a great variety of antiques and collectibles. Everything from elegant glass to vintage slot machines. Large selection of smalls and toys, coins, jewelry, pottery, you name it.

Great place...a bit pricey, but the stuff is NICE and the place is CLEAN. It's a mom and pop sort of place ,so it's a great place to shop local for something unique.
