There are so many 🐕 and 🐈 that need a home. They are all sooo CUTE! The staff are all well informed about the rules and regulations of owning a pet, and are ready to help you adopt a new best friend 🧡

I got me a nice dog. Her name was Rebecca we named her. Katie took her back in today for her surgery. Can’t wait to go get my little sweetheart and she’s very good trained. It didn’t take much to train her. She’s a very good dog. Thank you Jesus.

Visited today to get information about adoption and volunteer work. I'm looking forward to setting up a date to take a team of volunteers. Thank you so much for all you do!

Went to surrender a cat. They are not taking in any pets unless it’s by appointment and they have none available anytime soon. Your best bet is to call Brownsville animal control. They won’t refuse if it’s a stray. So just say you found a stray.

The most recent and this is when I was working there, anyway, this is why I believe new kennel tick quit there. There's this bet. Take that thinks that she and yes she's a girl. She is above everyone and therefore she can treat you like a dog. Saying that you didn't clean this kennel to her standards and telling you to redo the whole section . I don't know if she's still working there but she was a reason. New kennel techs quit and I quit at the time , if it wasn't for the Wait she treated me one day. I would have probably still kept working there and not have done a no call no show .love working with animals.

This is the hardest place to have someone answer the phone. Their office hours are 9 to noon and one to four thirty and don’t open on the weekends.

I called this shelter in the long shot hope that my old Corgi would be there. He got out yesterday, and we are leaving today to move out of state. The kind woman took my information and told me she'd call me if someone brought him in. I didn't have high hopes, because he's really old, and it's really hot.She did indeed call me, the second some kind citizen (whoever you are, thank you) brought him in, as we were departing our home for the last time.Hats off to this shelter, and very deep gratitude. My kids are overjoyed!

I literally pulled in right as they were closing their doors. For a lost kitten that we found. And they reopened the door to help us out and take the baby kitten 😸 such awesome people

We believe in "adopting " not "shopping" . We had been interested in a Belgium Malinois for several reasons. One of our furbabies was adopted at the shelter in 2012 and we still have him. Upon arriving at the shelter we weren't too happy at first. The first two persons that greater us had other responsibilities (they were microchipping) and didn't have time to really help us. They told us the dogs available were behind a window. I had previously looked on line through petharbor for a dog that caught my eye but the guys weren't able to bring him out. Another worker came out and she was so awesome. She brought out the dog we were interested in. He was beautiful but wasn't for us. She offered another dog that was the same breed. She (worker) really cared about the dogs there. We took her for a walk and adopted her. She had been in the animal shelter for over 2 months and we are so happy we have a new family member. We really recommend the animal shelter for your next furbaby. You can't go wrong. Ours had shots. Ours was spayed and heartworm tested. She had microchip and even 1 month of flea and tick guard.

Staff is excellent, doing a great job despite the out come of difficult situations. I had to drop off a fierce feral cat with its newborns. Too many cats running loose breeding like rabbits. This place needs low cost clinic for spaying and neutering.

Great shelter, doing the best that they can do. BROWNSVILLE NEEDS BETTER LEADERS, ITS NOT THE SHELTERS FAULT!

The staff is super sweet, friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. I just adopted a chihuahua puppy from them and he is just amazing. The whole adoption process is super easy and comes with first time shots, neutering, flea and thick prevention and heartworming prevention. I recommend y’all to go adopt a dog/ cat it really changes there lives. We don’t just become there heroes but there family.

We have called BARCC multiple times over the last 3 weeks in regards to a loose Pitbull in the neighborhood. We keep receiving the same response that BARCC can not locate the dog, and yet, the dog is outside everyday that I walk my own. Worst service from Brownsville, minus PUB.

Dr. Antonio Caldwell is one month in and already making a huge impact; you can tell his heart is in the right place and that he is all about saving lives. Huge props to their veterinarians and staff for saving our fur babies and all their hard work! 👏🏼

A kill shelter that discourages people from adopting their dogs. I went to look for my dog at this place because he ran off for a few days, and they would not allow me or anyone to go inside the shelter. God knows what they do to the animals in there. The woman at the front refused to even let me near the door and only said it was policy. She went inside for 30 seconds and said they did NOT have a dog that looked like mine, but it’s impossible to make sure it’s not yours by simply trusting them to look for your animal. You disgust me. All you can hear is the poor animals crying and whining from inside.

I like going and just looking at new updates. They have a nice dog park also for the public. So I take all my dogs to play there.

These people are doing great things for the community. Before you choose to become a pet owner stop by and visit with the dogs and cats that are looking for a home.

This place is super. Never been here before. Reason for the visit was 1 1/2yrs ago granddaughter lost her cat(she lives in San Juan). Anyways the place was clean, no smell of animals they had individual holding areas for cats. If I were to adopt I certainly wud go there

I had called about a juvenile bird with distorted walking abilities. I was informed that they would be able to retrieve it. After a two hour wait I called back and apparently animal control had left for the day. It's a bit disappointing because I can't care for a bird in my unit over night.Edit: the animal did not make it through the night. It was of relative health in temporary housing with frequent water.

Wanted to adopt a dog, had a couple questions but the lady in the front on the computer, had a really bad attitude. Everybody there was so nice but unfortunately she was the one set up to “help me” Her first name is Laura but I didn’t catch her last name. She is not the most welcoming, be aware when visiting this shelter!!

Literally the worst animal shelter ive seen in texas. Staff is almost non existent and they make it as hard as possible to get anything done unless you personally know someone that works there.

Does this place allow rabbits? I have a rabbit myself and I don’t have time to take care of it. Sadly I have to give it away but I don’t know who to give it to.

Recued a stray dog with a collar and no tags. Kept her in my work office and called animal control to come and pick her up at 11AM. After waiting I continued to call them and they would tell me "someone was on there way". 5 phone calls later nobody every came, I waited until my office closed at 5PM and ended up taking the dog home with me since nobody came. Taking her to the vet to see if she is microchipped.

Worst dog conditions I have seen. My dog was suppose to stay there for 8 days for some said " legal" reasons that weren't even true or possible because she was a service dog, so we fought the shelter and got her out the 2nd day! However, when we got her back she was swamped with fleas and ticks. We had to take her to the vet to get her medication to prevent infections and diseases. I cant imagine all the other doggies....
