Bought 3 jewel Cichlids from here as well as some aquatic plants and drift wood. They were friendly and knowledgeable! All my fish are doing great and the plants have grown exponentially since I bought them. I will definitely be coming back here.

Texas Aquatics was a friendly experience with tons of different kind of fish, used and new tanks, feeder fish, etc. I called about some plants and they had guppy grass where no other stores in the DFW area within my reach had, plus lots of other plants. I will say that I didn't properly quarantine or treat the plants as I didn't have time and ended up getting Bladder Snails in my tank, so be aware that you may get some freebies that you may or may not want.

I spent over $120 here on fish and supplies and within 24hrs all fish died. I had two water samples done and both passed. Before adding the fish to the brand new tank, I set it up with their solution they sold me. They tested the water and it passed. Bought $60 worth of fish and by the next day, all my fish were dead. Attempted again with more fish and within less than 5hrs, those fish also died. They gave me feeder gold fish to see if those would make it and again within 3hrs those fish were also dead. I bought a brand new larger tank and gave it another shot and again by the end of the night the fish were dead. My beta from PetSmart is going strong though and it’s it the exact style tank I put the first batch in. Don’t worry, I was refunded $8 for neon tetras that died within 2hrs of having them but the $60 worth of Barbs I bought, that’s a loss. They “replaced” them with fish that also died. So I’m not sure where the replacement was because now I own a $150 tank and now I’m spending more on fish elsewhere because all my fish died from here. I highly suggest getting your fish from somewhere else. The 5 star reviews are most likely friends and employees because they can’t be from customers. I really wanted to love this place because the girl I dealt with in the beginning was so amazing but in the end I’m out money and having to spend more elsewhere.

I was looking for a place to get a new ranchu goldfish for my tank and I found this place. I was helped by Jacob, he was great! Fairly priced wide variety of freshwater fish. We will be back!

Disease infested tanks. Bacteria infections, parasite, white spot diseases, blisters, and more. Most tanks are not maintained. They don't turn off the lights at night to let the fish rest. They are always turn to pale, or lose color after being there for a week. If you want to purchase here, quarantine and treat the fish before letting them in the main tanks. I made a mistake and half my tank 30+ died due to bacteria infection. Heavy antibiotic was used to save the remainning. I attached some photos of their fish in 1 tank so you can see. Check out other tanks, same issues. Healthy fish will be excited to see you everytime you walk by. Not here.

Liked the staff very knowledge able and helpful. I am setting up a new tank and am trying to decide on which fish to get. A lot more service friendly than other shops I have been to.

I ordered 2 trios of Dumbo Redtail guppies and 6 Cardinal Tetras. 1 male guppies didn’t survive the trip. Contacted them and they are replacing the guppy so I ordered another trio. Fish were packaged well and transitioned to my aquariums without any issues. I even had babies in transit!

Reasonable prices and a great staff. The place looks kind of clunky, but that is the charm of its esthetic. I really liked how their plants looked, and they are also reasonably priced. Also, one of the few places I have found that sells scuds. I highly recommend getting a bag of Scuds.

This is absolutely our go to place for fish. It is a bit of a drive for us(slightly over an hour) but the variety of fish, knowledgeable employees and comparable prices makes it worthwhile.

Amazing staff and huge selections of fish and all freshwater needs. Good luck because you’ll be inside for hours looking at fish. I picked up three pea puffers and was given a small bag of snails for free. Excellent packing at no extra cost to survive a 22 hour trip to ny. I also picked up a plant and when I got it home it was the perfect plant for my tank set up.

This has been my go-to for freshwater aquarium fish for over a year. Very knowledgeable staff and very patient with both customers and a new staff member. Even though busy, they will walk the entire store to find a certain fish if you forgot where it was. The prices are quite fair and it's not a super "pretty" store, but everything I've gotten from the pretty Dallas stores don't live their expectancy and the staff gives really bad advice, like telling me a crayfish (lobster) won't chase my exotic goldfish.. yeah.. the crayfish killed them. . I've not had any issues with TA. You won't please everyone who walks in your doors, but I've not had a bad experience here yet. My brother and his gf bought fish from them and drove all the way to Memphis, Tennessee and every fish made it to their new home alive and well.. after an 8 hour car trip.Great place to buy used aquarium set ups also.

Tried To give this company another chance but they messed up again my fish have hole in head and they were trying to blame other places but it’s fish from that location that are sick 🤷‍♀️🧐 The young lady and her husband are crazy they called the police on me and banned me from location and now I am out money on expensive fish even though it’s there fault why fish are sick they only care about making money they don’t like me because I used them for water change there side business that’s not part of fish store I stop using them because I spent a lot of money and ended up with half of my tank wiped out they don’t know what they are doing they told me they have kids so they really need money that’s not a good reason to get in fish business if you don’t know what you are doing her husband was taking photos of my license plate and they know my personal information they are crazy if you come to my house or harass me I will call cops very low of you to call cops over a fish matter I did not break any laws so I don’t know why you were trying to get me arrested I guess anger gets the best of people your reviews don’t look so good about this business so don’t try to blame me or other fish stores very sad I also have camera hope you’ll can learn to deal with situations better and move on!

We were in Texas Aquatics Christmas eve near closing time. We went back on the 26th and were greeted by Shyann. She was the best ever! Answered all our questions and assisted with fish selections. Canton bagged and packed our fish individually in a styrofoam cooler. We had an 8 hour drive and were assured by SHYANN and CANTON our fish would arrive safely and alive. They were correct. We now have 11 happy and healthy new fish in our aquarium. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TEXAS AQUATICS, SHYANN, AND CANTON!

The owner Page and his wife are always nice, courteous and helpful. Ask Page any question about african cichlids and he will have the answer for you. I live 34 miles away and the trip has always been worth it.

They have sick fish and the young couple killed all are fish and take no responsibility we spent lots of money here they called the police on my wife just because she was trying to get medicine for hole in the head because fish we bought at this location were sick and money back for fish that die she called and asked and they said yes then they were trying to pick a fight with her and saying she can’t come back makes no sense they ambushed her and called police trying to get her arrested for no reason just because of personal reasons they did not like her review now my wife is scared to go places because of crazy people like that they took advantage of us they take no responsibility for there actions and love to take people hard earned money I hope there Business goes in the ground reviews speak for there self not only people that don’t like This company or the young couple that work there

Here's my angel's fish tank. Thank you guys for helping us to find 3 more different angels and Shark. This is our collection , with some friendly sharks and plecostum fish( vacuum 🐟) 😁 the one that keeps our fish tank clean and amazing. I'm SO proud of this company! They've got a new location and it's HUGE! Good selection of fish, AMAZING prices, customer service is PHENOMENAL. WAY BETTER than Keller Farms. Keller Farms used to be my go to place, but always despised the customer service. These prices are better and they make you feel at home. They're very knowledgeable on their fish and are willing to educate you if you're unsure about a fish.

Okay, I had to edit this because I bought a new fish from here about a week ago. This is the 3rd chance I've given this store but I'm officially never returning. I bought a calico plecostomus, it looked fine and healthy. Now today, all of my fish are COVERED in ick. I have never struggled with this issue and the pleco is the only new thing I've added to my tank in months, so I know who the culprit is.I really enjoy this store and their collection, but time and time again I dont see the effort to maintain the fish tank quality. I am really disappointed to have to leave this review.

HOW DOES THIS PLACE HAVE ANY GOOD REVIEWS?!Horrible. Period. Yes they have a wide selection but almost all of their fish are sick. It’s clear they are overstocked and under staffed or something. They’re literally selling huge exotic fish covered in illness’. The front staff was seriously eating pizza pockets at the counter and sitting them next to the spot they keep fish for people on a paper plate. A lot of them are just chilling and doing nothing meanwhile all their tanks look awful.Their fish interbreed so a ton of the guppies they have have severe spine issues. They claim this is “common” but it is only common because you allow it and provide terrible water conditions.I was extremely disappointed and left feeling very depressed. Maybe this place was great at one point but they have fallen far from that.

Great little store with big variety of fish . Staff is awesome and super friendly. If you have large tank and you are looking for big fish this store is for you. Just visited it with my kids for the first time and I can tell you we will go back again. I got two beautiful ornate bichirs, I was looking for this fish for ever, and this store had a bunch of them.

Since this store has a similar name to another, I accidentally called the wrong store when looking for help. But actually they ended up being super helpful, probably moreso than the original store I was trying to contact would have been. I would definitely contact them again if I needed help. Their staff seem very knowledgeable. I can only imagine how good their actual store must be.
