There needs to be competition. Brookshires has been in Newton for years and they are the only game in town. We shop there from time to time, but driving to an H-E-B or a Sam's Club is what we normally do because the prices are indeed cheaper and those stores have a larger, more diverse and better selection of what you need or want. I still find it shameful that Newton doesn't have atleast another grocery store chain. Competition matters, it always matters especially in small town rural USA.

We had an impromptu wedding celebration during our weekend getaway at our cabin. My husband, who happens to be a minister, received a special request from his cousin to officiate her wedding to her fiancé. In a whirlwind of excitement, we rushed to Brookshire Brothers in search of the perfect cake to mark the occasion, and what a delightful find it was!We stumbled upon a cake that was not only visually stunning but also tasted absolutely scrumptious. The decorations were beautifully done, making it the perfect centerpiece for our cake-cutting ceremony. It added a touch of magic to the moment, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice.

Great Store on our way to our kids very courteous and I had them to do a 40th birthday cake for my daughter. They did a wonderful job.

Have a deli with fresh cooked breakfast. Got 3 bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches with the bread toasted for 6.50$ They tasted great and the best part was the lady behind the counter offered to make them up. We didn't have to ask.

Doesn't have everything you might be looking for, but it probably has most of it. The produce section and the deli are the best parts of this place. They are quite nice. Prices are also a little high, but not so high that you would be breaking the bank. Cashiers and other employees are nice except that one guy who stares at you with an angry look and doesn't speak much.

Stopped in to get a sandwich before heading back to Houston. The deli didn't have one but a lady behind the counter asked what I wanted and said they would make me whatever I wanted. I told them and they did. Glad I went in the store.

Ran by friendly employees and management. Great selection for a small town store, and even though it won't beat Walmart in terms of price on everything, it has very good sales on relevant items all the time, and most of them far exceed the competition. The deli is one of the best options for breakfast and lunch in town. The fried chicken is as good or better than any of the nearby towns chicken restaurants

Watch out for the meat and fresh vegetables..A lot of the times the meat is bad.. and the vegetables have mold..

Pros: Good selection, helpful staff, plenty of parking, clean and well-maintained.Cons: Can be very busy at times, due to being the only grocery store in town. Certain items are priced significantly higher than comparable stores.Overall, a good establishment. Would shop here more often if the prices on meats and frozen foods were lower. But it's a great place to shop when you only need a few things and don't feel like going to Jasper.

Small store so the selections are limited, but had most things you'll need. Prices are higher than other larger companies, but the employees are more helpful than most. Good location for when I head home after work. Have fuel pumps as well.

Great store and the most pleasant experience that I have in this store is that there are people at the cash registers that really do check you out and bag your groceries!!! Wow what a novel idea. I know their inventories is not as substantial or their buying power is not as massive as Walmart but this family style's store earns its keep based on it's meat products it's great staff and the ability to keep the parking lot clean and neat. This is the Woodville Texas location that I am discussing and again I thank all of you human beings that check me out at the register and make me feel like a wanted customer thank you.

Have updated my review: I DO shop here a couple times a month now. The place is clean. The people are nice. Prices are just like everywhere... got to watch what you are buying! (never go shopping when you are hungry 😂)

Friendly customer service, but the Deli food was a bit dry and over cooked. I believe I came at a bad time. At least I hope that the food isn't that bad normally. The people there make it worth trying them again.

This brookshire brothers is the most comfortable brookshires I have EVER been in. The associates are amazing and friendly and make you feel like family when you're there. They provide a calm atmosphere as opposed to the unorganized chaos of other locations and even shopping with your children isn't as stressful. The store director Mrs. Gina Adams, hand selected her department heads to be so family oriented that is heart warming. I will continue to do my business at this location.

Stopped by for breakfast and the lady could not fix it my way so I left it with her. Real simple put biscuits on plate eggs on the biscuits then gravy overall of it . No don't put gravy on biscuits without the eggs. Sorry thats the way I like it.
