From the moment we arrived after driving 2500 miles from Canada, we were made to feel welcome and at home. The owner and ranch managers were very friendly and spent time chatting and introducing us to the local area and amenities. As a bonus we were able to extend our stay an additional 2 days due to a last minute cancellation--and that worked out perfectly for our trip. I would recommend Cowboys and Angels to anyone who is planning to visit Texas hill country!

We went with a group for the eclipse viewing. From the moment we arrived, we had no idea what was going on. There were no signs or directions anywhere and it was not even easy to find staff members to ask. The atmosphere seemed to be “figure it out or miss out.”When I went to use the bathroom, someone told me where to go. I stood by a locked door for about 15 minutes as a line of people formed until someone went in search of someone to ask. They found out that we were supposed to walk down the street a bit to some port-a-potties we probably would never have found on our own.The catered vegetarian food was pretty bad. Some sort of wrap with flavorless strips of veggies. The grounds were pretty and the eclipse viewing was great. Whoever arranged the hole in the clouds around the time of totality did a great job.As we were getting ready to leave, someone had told us there was a gift shop and people had been pointing in the general direction of the buildings when they said that. Since, as per usual, nothing was really labeled, I headed toward a gate to get closer to the closest building to see if it was there. A staff member came out of another door on the side and started shouting incomprehensible syllables at me. “Ah ah! No. NO! Uh uh!” I stopped and looked at her and she was making hand gestures as she approached. She was saying “that’s a cabin!” I had no idea what that meant, so I just waited for her to get to me to explain properly. She started using slightly longer partial sentences, and I was able to piece together that there was a rental property where people were staying, but she was giving me very un-useful directives in the meantime. She told me I had to come away from in front of the gate because paying customers were staying inside, which I thought was a pretty bold statement given that we had paid $150 for two adults for just a couple of hours on the property. I told her that I had no problem complying, but that it was very difficult to understand her. It would have been much easier to understand her if she had just spoken to me politely in full sentences rather than shout and point like I was a dog. Of course, if there had been signs posted and directions, it wouldn’t have been an issue in the first place. Needless to say, we didn’t try too hard to spend any more money there.Safety: No signs or instructions anywhere.Food & drinks: Catering was bad.Noteworthy details: Staff were lacking in responsibility and very rude.

This establishment was quite charming, and I highly recommend it. Debbie was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable, providing us with all the necessary information. The snacks provided in the cabin were a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. The chicken was very friendly, so we decided to name it Fluffy LOL. She came by every morning to say Hi and goodbye when we left.

The park host, Amber, was friendly, communicative, and helpful. We enjoyed watching the local wildlife that live on the property as well. The only issue we encountered was the cement-like mud that stuck to our shoes, truck tires, dog's paws, etc. Hopefully, the park owners will remedy this around the rv sites.Food & drinks: Kerrville was about 15 minutes away and had wonderful restaurants!

Went here last yr with my hub for Father's Day, as it what he wanted. It's location is easy to get to, as its right off I-10. We stayed in the yurt, which I had no idea abt. It's the first house on the property and is probably the "roughest" one to stay in. It does not have an indoor bathroom, (which my loving husband lied abt and said it does) just a porta potty. It is the cleanest porta potty, and best smelling one I've been in. Only sucked cause I'm a middle of the night pee-er and after too many scary movies I was not excited to use. But I survived lol. The pool was the best part of our stay, we were mostly the only ones there. There's also a large covered patio with a lot of picnic tables and bbq pits and it has lights so you can keep the vibes going come dark. They have a huge fire pit with rockers surrounding it, which we put to use. They keep deer on property, which you'll see come dusk. There's a hot tub near here, which we didn't get the chance to use. They also had a boat that takes you out on the lake, but it was being worked on during our stay. Kerrville is not too far, and that's where we went and had breakfast and picked up dinner. We got to meet the owners, and they were very friendly and told us the story of how this peaceful place came to be. I'd say if you want to go camping, but are not abt the sleep in a tent life, this place is def for you. We'll be heading back next yr, and I'll for sure make sure we stay in a cabin with an indoor bathroom 😆

The deer are amazing and well taken care of. The pool is clean and refreshing, and there were floats available to use. The entire property was so well thought out and the little details that make the short weekend getaway a relaxing vacation.Rooms: The bed was so comfortable. I haven’t woken up without pain in years. The bedding aroma was even noticed by my kids. They both said “wow mom your bed smells good.” We played games that were provided in the cabin. My son talks about wanting to go back throughout the year…we stayed last year, and will again next year.Food & drinks: We ordered the breakfast when we made our reservations, fresh eggs from chickens on property. There was a basket of homemade baked goods. Chocolate chip muffins, blueberry muffins, croissants, donut holes, orange juice, apple juice, Texas pecan coffee.Noteworthy details: Great venue for weddings or family reunions. My in-laws are staying this coming weekend with my kids again to check it out for family reunion next year. Great location.

We had a very short but pleasant visit. This place is perfect if you're trying to get away from the busy city life. Our kids loved the pool and the wildlife. My husband and I enjoyed star gazing at night. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It's best to take groceries because the closest grocery store is about 20 minu away. We will definitely be back!

Staff was super friendly! We were late arriving with our camper and showed up after dark. They came out and lit our site up with headlights and helped up get backed in without issue! Site was very quiet and had a lot of wildlife to observe close by. Electric, water and sewer all looked new at our camp site and the site was very level also which makes setup very easy. Would recommend!

Love this place!!Debbie and her husband were so helpful. The location was perfect. About a 15 min. Drive to Ingram. The grounds were spacious and full of fun amenities like a saloon on site, fresh eggs and produce . Our cabin, Wild bill, was the perfect size, and the sweet treats in our welcome basket was a perfect touch. Thank you for a fun time. We will be visiting again this spring!!

I believe God lead me to find this perfect getaway from home. My daddy passed last year and as I looked for the perfect spot to take my momma on a small quiet place to reflect on all of Gods goodness there it was Cowboys and Angels! My Little ones loved it also I thought it was so sweet for them to have games in the cabin as well as a little welcome package waiting for us with all kinds of sweet treats. Definitely a place we will be returning to. 😊

This place is Awesome, the cabins are quaint and color coordinated. Beds are comfortable and very peaceful. Within the campground. White tail Deer, Axis and Fallow roam freely throughout The property. There are even some Antelope too. A big fire pit, a bar, nice pavilion, swimming pool and hot tub to boot. The owners and staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. If you want a nice getaway that’s something different than staying in a hotel, this is the place to go. Thank you Cowboys and Angels for a great weekend.

We found this place by chance looking online. If you want to get away and relax, this is the place to go. We had a fantastic time. James is an awesome host. Upon checking in we were given a complimentary basket of goodies including fresh eggs from the chickens raised right there. The cabin was very clean and the beds were really comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need if you're bringing your own food. In the evening the saloon opens up and you can enjoy beer and wine on the large covered patio and meet with the other guests. We actually made some new friends. Cowboys and Angels is the only place where we will be staying whenever we're visiting the hill country. So leave your stresses behind you, turn off your phone and relax with some great folks. We loved it and highly recommend it.

Seeing deer in morning was amazing! James and Kelli are great host! They are super kind, helpful and we enjoyed them sharing about deer and ranch. The pool was great and restaurants in Kerrville were good The Lakehouse catfish and Pier 27 ceviche and sandwiches. We loved the River Rat and would recommend doing it, we enjoyed pedaling and floating in river. James joined us in water and that was awesome and it was amazing we got to have some lunch and dinner with James and Kelli, truly left as friends- family . Great couple get away weekend for us and would definitely bring family next time!

Absolutely loved everything about this place. Found the website and was very impressed. Met James and Kelli the first day and already felt at home. Had a burger that evening with other guests and had a great time. Burger was delish!! We stayed in the Lodge! Was so clean and smelled wonderful! Was almost like being at home. Full kitchen including the dishes made it easy to prepare our meals including the fresh eggs from the friendly chickens. Enjoyed all the amenities including the pool for a refreshing swim and the lounge chairs as we set back to gaze at the stars. Complete silence at this place. All the staff are very accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed all the beautiful wildlife as they came right in front of the lodge. Perfectly located with many activities just minutes away. Never felt so welcomed in all my travels. Will definitely be returning to visit our new friends James and Kelli and enjoy this wonderful place again.

Very relaxing. Beautiful star lit sky. Very cute cabins, each one is unique. All the cabins were built by our host James with the support of his lovely wife Kelli. And soon they will have an awesome wedding venue. The deers, chickens, and exotic animals were beautiful. Pool, hot tub, fire pit and games available. Even a little bar. Fun for the whole family. The hosts were great, very welcoming and available. Thank you for sharing your dream with us, we had a great time exploring the hill country.
