Fantastic shopping experience at Academy Sports!I recently made a visit to Academy Sports and had a wonderful shopping experience. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who were ready to assist me with any questions or concerns I had. The store was well-organized and clean making it easy for me to navigate and find what I was looking for.One of the highlights of my visit was the wide range of products available. Academy Sports offers a great selection of sporting goods apparel fitness equipment outdoor gear and more. Whether you're into hiking team sports or simply looking for a new pair of running shoes you'll likely find what you need at Academy Sports.Not only did the store have a vast selection but the quality of the products was impressive as well. The merchandise seemed durable and well-made giving me confidence in my purchases. The prices were also reasonable with regular sales and promotions making it even more affordable.The staff at Academy Sports deserves special recognition. They were extremely helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. Whether I needed sizing assistance product recommendations or information about warranties they were always willing to assist me. I truly felt like a valued customer throughout my shopping experience.Another positive aspect of my visit was the checkout process. The lines were minimal and the cashier was efficient and friendly. The transaction was smooth and I was out of the store in no time.The only reason I am not giving a full 5-star rating is because I encountered a slight inconvenience in finding a particular item that was out of stock. However I understand that inventory can fluctuate and this did not overshadow the overall positive experience.Overall I highly recommend Academy Sports to anyone in need of sporting goods or outdoor equipment. With a wide selection of high-quality products excellent customer service and reasonable prices Academy Sports is a top-notch retailer in its field. I will definitely be returning for all my future athletic and outdoor needs.

Good store, best place around to buy charcoal. But checkout is slow as they don't seem to open enough registers. And the worst part is having to endure a hard sell for a store credit card every time.

Ordered a present for my son. When we opened it, things were taped together and pieces out of packaging rolling around in the entire box. When I returned it, they didn’t have any other ones and they couldn’t ship one to my house. The irritating part is that it was clearly returned because it was taped together on the outside of the box along with everything not in the packaging on the inside. I don’t know why they would sell it again without looking inside it to confirm it was in good shape with all the pieces. With how all the insides were shredded with pieces everywhere, there was no way to see if all the pieces were there. Last time to order online from there. Of course this close to Christmas there isn’t anything instore to replace it because they are sold out of a lot of things and I got a gift card for store credit.

Went to purchase a new putter today. Golf section was unmanned and HORRIBLY DISORGANIZED and littered with trash (see pics)!!! Would spend our money elsewhere, but unfortunately we have a gift card.

They are selling Nike clothes for more than what original tag from Nike is on. And putting 25% off from the tag price the are putting on top of the original price. The manager Christina with a very rude and nasty attitude said to me she doesn't have time explain to me why they tag the clothes with a higher price than the msrp and leaves me talking to my self and the cashier that was trying to be nice.Why academy is doing this to clients?? Be careful people with this store and the nasty manager attitude!!!

I love Academy Sports. Fantastic products at fantastic prices. Bought a pair of shoes that had a minor defect inside the shoe. When I felt it while running, I was able to replace them with no questions asked. Very helpful.

wait time is getting to be like the post office. one thing I asked the cashier about is why the company only sees our military and first responders worthy of a 10% discount 3 weeks a year. can anyone provide an answer?

I picked up a pool today that I ordered online. The pool was incredibly heavy, and it was a tight fit to get into my van. The three young men who helped me did such an awesome job! They were very kind and professional and worked hard to make it fit. Their names were Josh, Drew, and John. I highly recommend this location!

Shady sales. Asked customer service if they were getting more of an item in. They started taking my info, thinking it was to contact me when the item were back in stock.Instead they were wanting to charge me for the item plus$83 to deliver it. I said no thanks. I'd rather just pick it up at the store. They said we don't do that... I then asked to return the item I had just bought. Alternative was then presented to go to a nearby location with the same item about 10 minutes away.

Made an order online and didn't receive them because they were out. I told whoever was the shoe department person that I would be up shortly to pick out a new pair. They called me to tell me. I came up there and they already cancelled the transaction. I came from ft worth and they didn't let me get a new pair of shoes. If they were going to cancel it why tell me I can come and pick up the shoes. Really inconsiderate. I hate places that operate like this

Friendly faces who were helpful. I only made it to the front of the store to pick up online order but store appeared to be set up in a similar fashion to most chain sporting goods stores of the like. Don't buy the Magellan shower/ utility tent. Spend $20 more elsewhere for better quality and longevity.

Came in this evening for an FFL transfer. Greeter lady didn’t say anything; looked at me and my family (4 kids) like “are you really coming in here at 840p when we close at 9p?” lol. Nice one!Gun counter dude was helpful as always.Then his mngr (lady w/ dark short hair) got involved, made it really obvious I was bothering her with a transfer, flipped me an attitude & told me to “go upfront and pay then walk back to the gun counter” (at 855pm).The cashier in the front thought that made no sense, so she asked the Mngr to walk my gun up front.Mngr lady came up, obviously upset, and refused to let me see my own gun in front of a bunch of other employees (she’s power tripping) - she wouldn’t let me touch it until she walk me out of the entire store. As if I’m somehow safer 1 foot outside the store.And yes, she was clinging to her giant mask, virtue signaling the entire time.There’s a reason all of us are moving our business out of these big box stores to local companies.They just lost all my business, along with all my friends + all the upswell opportunities.Marketing pays $100,000s to get people like us to walk in the door - sad when greeters & power tripping middle mngr block Marketing’s efforts and chases us away.I hope a GM or exec in the company cares about these things.

Placed an order for whistle Fox 40 online yesterday. Today on 12/2/2022 received confirmation email for pick and come to the store. 15 minutes associates are not able to find out my order. Finally said they don't have this type of whistle. Promised to cancel the order and get me full refund. Instead of refund I have received an email : my order was picked up. Very poor inventory control, my credit card was charged and I have not received my item.

Decided to give Academy Sports another chance after a horrible first experience at a different location.What a night & day difference in service. This location actually has staff in the store to help customers. We were asked 4-different team members if we were finding everything okay.

Is Academy trying to get out of the business of fishing gear?My son-in-law gave me a $100 gift card for Fathers Day. I could not find $100 worth of stuff I wanted.I asked a guy stocking the shelves in "fishing" to help me find some particular stuff. Eventually he just admitted that he didn't really know anything about fishing. He asked another guy if he knew anything about fishing. He said "No" as well.I later asked him if they had some Circle Hooks. He just looked at me like a dog looking at a sound he didn't understand.Later I ran into some kind of manager who made the mistake of asking if we found what we needed. After I told him the story, he said, "Most of our people are into hunting and both the "'fishing' guys were off today."When I had purchased some stuff for camping, I didn't really need, the cashier asked, "What kind of fish are you fishing for?" When I told him salt water he explained that the nearest coast was 5 1/2 hours away. That was his explanation of why there weren't any weights or hooks for salt water.I'll never go there again.

Selection was lacking in many areas of the store, especially the camping area. It looks like they were in the middle of moving things around but there were tons of empty shelves. We were also hoping for more selection of items in the camping area.

After visiting another Academy, I came here and everything was great. I was greeted at the door asking if I needed any help finding anything. They had numerous registers open for checkout. The wait was no more than 30 seconds.
