I got my second cat, Taco, at thIs shelter. Every now and again i let them know how she’s doing. The staff is always enthusiastic about the updates. Theyre very kind and caring and you can tell they really love the animals. It makes me really happy to know that, despite this shelter being very small, the animals here are all shown lots of love. Pictures of my now grown up happy baby as proof that healthy happy kitties come from this shelter.

Bought a kitten in I found on the highway, and was told he was going to put the kitten down because of a POSSIBLE infection on the ear. Found the kitten a home the same day, the cat is healthy and never had to see the vet. If you don’t like your job there, find another one.

One of the only shelters that has the human compassion to actually respond to me when I was very upset dealing with a sick stray cat. Gave me sound advice and heard me out. Lady on the phone was knowledgeable and helpful. Based on the current performance of other shelters that simply tell you they are full and goodbye I'd say this place is pretty darn good.

Thanks to Ms. Goffney at the Missouri City Animal Shelter, along with the staff at Pet Supplies Plus, Missouri City, TX, we now have a perfectly blessed addition to our home. The adoption process is more elaborate than I had anticipated, but definitely worth it!

Excellent work all around! A very cute dog was just added to my family. She is extremely pleasant to be around, and she hasn't caused any mishaps in the house. She has the ability to sit on command and is very helpful. The service is wonderful, and each of the canine customers is given excellent care and respect. The submission of the application took some time, but in the end, it was well worth the wait! ❤️😊👍🐕

I rescued a dog off the street right in front of the shelter over night and waited till the shelter was open to bring her only to be told that I need a appointment to surrender a stray. If I have a stray and I take her to a animal shelter doing the right thing and get turn away WHAT HAPPENS TO THE DOG!!!! she’s safe with me but I went out of my way to make sure she was safe while others wouldn’t do the same. After this frustration the man apologized and accepted her after her 3 day hold she was transferred to Houston humane in hopes of finding a forever home ❤️

Don't come here expecting any promises. This shelter has you fill out 20 minutes of paper work and lets you meet your new pet and tells you that the dog is getting spayed/neutered for you to take them home, just to give them to another adopter the next day when the dog was supposedly getting spayed/nuetered. They openly advertise their dogs while considering adopties. Horrible experience at this location. They mislead people into thinking they'll come home with a new family member, and then deny that they promised you this pet after telling you she's been given to another adoptee. Full of misleading info and inconsistencies with their work ethic. I completely understand some adopties will be denied and I think it's wonderful that they don't just give everyone a pet, however. If you're denying an adoptee, be upfront with them instead of misleading. Was so disappointed letting all my friends and family know that I was in the process of adopting, just to have her be given away just after meeting and filing paperwork for her. Don't come here with optimism. Go somewhere else.

If I could leave zero stars... I would. No one here was helpful. The staff were incredibly rude and kept trying to dissuade me from the animals I was interested in. I even started filling out paperwork but was told that the kitten I wanted was already adopted. Clearly an unorganized office with no communication.

Already read many bad reviews before came to this animal shelter, we still decided to visit. However we were not allowed to get in even for a short visit without an appointment. Kids are so disappointed, tell me they will Not come to this place anymore. Will make donations to other place.

Don't know why doors are closed and you have to be buzzed in ir make an appointment. It's obvious, there's a population explosion of dumped or stray cats and dogs but no where to take them. Why are they open for business if that's the case? Are we just to leave them on the streets?

Employees where very nice only had to wait about an hour for 1 cat and 1 dog vaccinations, and the cost was significantly lower than local vet offices, going back to neuter the cat in October.

They picked up the two puppies someone left outside of my house. It didn’t take long for them to arrive the guy who got there was friendly and caring and I felt like they were going to a good home.

Came last week picked out a dog, filled out paperwork, they made promises, we were so excited, they never called and wouldn't return our call about the dog we really wanted. We could have went somewhere else.

Would not take new born kittens because I live in Stafford. Stafford does not take cats. Kittens were rejected by mother and had not eaten in i dont know how long. Thanks for your lack of compassion Missouri City.

This place needs to be shut down employees are rude misleading and very unprofessional. I came here to adopt a man's best friend i was giving one on hold till i came in to pick him up they gave the dog away to some one else
