This place is the bomb. They are Veteran friendly and very appreciated. Show your id and get a whopping 50% discount on food and drinks. They have the best food with large portions for the hungry and smaller portions for the smallest appetites. A diamond in the mine, a gem in the desert, this find keeps me stopping every trip. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to feast for small or large appetites. This place has an amazing selection of displayed antiques, heritage, and history. As you exit interstate I-20 and turn into this small village you enter another era of time.Don’t forget to visit the antique store, more like a museum next door.

Drove by this place for years and finally stopped in on a Saturday. Cool little place. Super nice people and the local crowd was there to support. Have a feeling they have quite a few regulars. Food was down home style cooking. Portions sizes were great and the price was amazing. Omelets hash browns, toast, oatmeal, and a full order of biscuits and gravy, and a full side of bacon came in at a little under 30 $. Oh ya, a medium orange juice too. Real nice. Left feeling very satisfied and in better spirits than when we arrived. That's what really matters now isn't it?

This was a last minute stop for a late.lunch off I 20. Wow I'm glad I stopped. This place had great food with plenty of parking and great service. This has a lot of character and history. Well priced plenty of seating. Clean and easy on and off the highway. Has inside and outside seating. A lot to look at inside to see the history of this old coal town. The restaurant has been there since 1971 and the town established in 1903. If your passing by and want a quick bite this is a place to check out.

Stopped to check out the smoke stack. As I was walking to it I smelled the aroma from the great smelling food and said, yeuuuup, I am eating lunch there! Immediately I knew the staff was great and noticed they worked very well together. The food... I had the meatloaf, loaded baked potato, and green beans... It was a great meal. Great establishment and decorated with local history. Five star rating all around. Thanks for a great experience!

Smokestack is a great place off the beaten path with friendly staff, great service and food. Plenty of parking with handicap accessible parking. The serving sizes no matter what you order is enough for two. I had the vegetarian Burger with homemade onion rings, very tasty and filling. Nostalgic decor throughout the restaurant. I'd recommend it. Thank you.

I was on my way to DFW and in need of food when I saw the billboard for The SmokeStack Restaurant so I decided to give it a go. The special was chicken pot pie, green beans, salad, and a roll and a brownie. With my Dublin Peach Soda and a tip, I was in and out in less than 45 minutes for $14 and completely satisfied. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

This charming restaurant is one we have been driving by on the highway for years and wanted to stop, but were on a time constraint. Finally, we had the pleasure of getting to walk in and partake. We were immediately greeted. Our drink orders were taken, and our food order shortly after. They were very busy, which says a lot. We were not only impressed with the service, but with the numbers of diners, and the diversity in ages from too young to walk, to old enough to tell stories about the second world war. One small group even brought a board game with them and commenced to playing after their meal. Clearly this is a place where people become comfortable. Our food arrived hot and so delectable that we wanted to order more (but didn't). The restaurant is kept clean and ready for more diners. The restrooms are clean and well stocked. And when you are done, there is a store, just as charming, next door to peruse. We loved that the buildings are original and historic. So glad we finally got to stop.

Right off the Highway and our waitress was friendly. We had fried green beans appetizer-soo good! Then chicken fried steak, sirloin steak, fries and homemade chips. All was very good! Great place with history and great food!

Good1. Servers are kind and attentive2. History of the building and area is enjoyable and atmosphere is amazingBad1. FoodI went with a friend and gave this place a shot again. I have eaten here multiple times over the years, and it used to be very good. Unfortunately, I started having issues with the chicken tenders around a year ago. Everytime I got the chicken tenders they ended up being under cooked, and when my girlfriend would go she would get a grilled chicken sandwich and ask for special items off of the sandwich, but when we got our food the items are normally always on there. I got to a point of asking them to cook the tenders, and make sure they are cooked all the way and it would be about 65 percent of the time they would be undercooked.I ordered my food this time and I asked for chicken tenders with fries and asked for them cooked all the way. When they came I gave the bread a shot, and I hate to say it, but was very disappointed in the bread. Ive never made faces off of bread until now and I wasn’t a fan. When the chicken tenders came out they were a light color. I tried them nonetheless and the tenders were very hot but tasted undercooked and didn’t seem to have a taste it just tasted like hot undercooked meat. I do love their French fries, they are some of the best fries I have had. I love this restaurant even if the food isn’t great just due to the history, but I think I’m done eating here for a while.

A quick stop for lunch and found this restaurant. We came in and got entertained by a very friendly waitress. Food was OK, the price was affordable, and the ambience was just cool. It was a good dining experience but the building was old and needs some updating.

Amazing. The pie! The croutons. The gravy! Even the lettuce tasted better here. Didn't care for onion rings, not enough batter. Over all awesome little place. I ate the food so fast I didn't take a picture.
