Never again. They gave us food that wasn't ours, 2 drinks that had no syrup, and did not tie the bag of ice. So dogs had a wet mess in our suv.I spoke with the shift lead after driving 30 miles back. I asked them to fix the 2 drinks and ice. Decided no go on food. Did not ask for $ back. Just fix the drinks and Ice. We are traveling and we're told the GM would be there in the morning and would be able to talk then. I took it as a lost cause. They cared about 2 drinks and ice. Not customers.

We go here often because there aren't many choices in Merkel but after today I'm not so sure I will go back. I ordered on the app, you get the option of 5 condiments, I order a drink carrier (which is on the condiment list) some picante sauce and 2 syrups. I ordered 3 orders of French toast sticks which each come with one syrup. I get my order and I am given 1 syrup total. I tell the young man that I am supposed to have 5 because they come with 1 each and I ordered 2 extra and he said "I am not going to argue with you, I will be right back". He then comes back and tells me that I will have to pay .50 each for the other two that I had ordered on the app. I gave him the money and he gave me 1 more and I told him that I wanted 2, he said he already gave me the other. I looked in my bag and I told him that he was right. He said "I know, can I go now"? Absolutely rude kid! Oh and the burritos we ordered had no cheese on them.

Boy I tell you what, had to have been the best experience at any sonic, wife and I are on a diet, and the Daniel I believe, went above and beyond and understood what we wanted. Was very friendly and made our order happen. Then to top it off....our order came out looking great, tasting awesome, you could tell the cook actually cared about his food! Cudos to you both,

Melty shake. How do you make a bad shake?? Usually, Sonic food is terrible, but you can at least count on the sweat treats. Not just this location, as it was my first time here, but I think this place generally is going downhill.

I can’t say anything positive about this stop, which is unusual for a Sonic. Took ten minutes to order one meal because the stall or computer wasn’t working. Couldn’t tell which, and that’s after we switched stalls. Credit card payment not working. The worst is the order is completely incorrect despite being 1 of 2 cars here, and it tastes like it was put in a microwave while still in plastic packaging. Such a disappointment during our long drive.

This is not a good place to go eat I went there about 2 years ago and the reason I hadn't been back is because the chili on my hot dogs tasted old and I asked for a soda easy on the ice well that didn't happen. I went back today to give them another chance but I regret it everything was still the same except their prices they're higher. It's worth your trouble to drive into Abilene and get more choices.

We used the order ahead app as so many times before, to order a Single Drink while Homeward bound from Austin Tx. We checked in as normal, waited 11 minutes according to the clock, pushed the great RED button, we normally don't use, to check on order. They were not very busy, 5 cars total with the drive thru, Angel answered, repeated our order, replied "the order would be right out in approximately 5 seconds". We heard the lady beside our stall telling Angel that her order was taking forever asking for a carhop, she had ordered ahead for drinks only, seems to be a pattern. 9 mins later Angel appears with Drink we had ordered as I pressed the RED button again. I reminded her she had said 5 seconds and it took another 9 minutes, she took our drink BACK in as I asked for a manager. I talked with Jacob Breeden aka joedirt he said when he brought our drink back out, about time stamp on the receipt, the time it took after to bring the drink out (another 9 mins) after the stamp, and the overall time from when we drove up actually ordering (*22 mins*). Jacob was friendly, replied he only had ONE carhop today, said he would refund the money but couldn't since it was the app. As we were leaving the stall next to us got their order. This delayed our return time quite a bit.Ty Jacob for the drink disc.

Ordered 3 drinks. After 12 min in the drive through I got out a went in. Was told they had other customers. Said if they didn’t have time to make my drinks they could just give me my money back. Guy said if you’ll wait a moment we’ll help you. Went back to my car. Guy came over and gave me my money back. Wasn’t supper busy.I’ve had to wait at this location before, but this was the worst

Truly the worse Sonic in the whole franchise. I love Sonic but will avoid this location. I know its a franchise but corporate needs to take a long look at this location so changes can be made. Would have given less of a star if possible.

This sonic used to be the best sonic i ever went to years ago… now.. it’s the absolute worse! My order is literally never correct, the lids to my drinks are never put on correctly causing it to spill everywhere!! I understand that these are mostly high school kids working here or whatever but damn… it’s a fast food joint it should never be so difficult to get a order correct especially when you work there day in and out!!! This place needs better management, better employees.. something!!

We heard the story about you uninviting a autistic employee who you decided not to schedule him anymore. Your sonic is really horrible the way you excluded this 15 year old and should be ashamed! Also, not accepting the free lemonade free coupons from teachers? I hope people see this and not go to your restaurant. I know that karma will find your behavior. You should work with your community and not against it! Shame on you!!

First time trying it out and really didn't expect it to be sooo bad. We got chicken sandwiches... Wow. The bread inside was completely burnt. Black. The chicken itself, didnt taste right. Couldn't have more then one bite. Chicken popcorn was terrible as well. With a bitter aftertaste. We're not picky eaters and normally don't leave bad reviews, but this just beat it all. Waisted $20.

My daughter who loves sonic said, "that was the worst Sonic I've ever been to."Pressed the button to order. Waited 5 mins and never answered. So I ordered from mobile app. Still took 15 mins to get food and it wasn't busy. They brought our food out and the order wasn't correct.If you're looking for "fast" food, this is not the place for you

Would like to give a higher score but they cant seem to get it together on a steady basis. Some visits are great however some are not so good. On many occasions they get my order wrong after i have repeated it several times. The order may read right on the order board but they still get it wrong. On other visits they get my order right but one or more items will be cold. Some times every thing is right and the food is hot and fresh. I tend to visit at slower periods so I don't understand the mess ups on my orders and I am more than happy to wait for fresh warm food. Most of the carhops are friendly and polite. I will always check my order before leaving from now on, I just hope they start paying more attention to the food quality.

I'm only giving 5 stars because I've never had an issue here before till this visit. The food is always good and staff very pleasant but this time when I received my order my large onion rings were only half full. Unfortunately I didn't notice it till after I was back on the road and I drive a truck so turning around to get it fixed was not an option. I should've checked my order before I left but like I said, I've never had a problem there in the past but I will in the future. I will return hoping this was a one time deal.

Placed an order ahead on the app. Unbelievably slow. Arrived & still had to wait about 15 minutes to get our food. Our order on the app (that we already paid for on the app) included the condiments. When she brought the food, she said that each condiment would be 25 cents. Ranch has always come with the Buffalo popcorn chicken, and marinara always with the mozzarella sticks at every sonic we have been to. Ordered light ice on our drinks, and I don’t think they could have put one more piece of ice in them because they were filled to the top with ice.What’s the point of being able to order/customize your food on the app if they’re just going to serve it all how they want & not honor the prices.Worst sonic we’ve ever been to.

Have never had a problem with the Merkel Sonic. Food is always good and price is reasonable. Right now it is hard to find people who want to work so having to wait a little bit sometimes does not bother me. The staff and owners are always smiling and eager to please! Glad to have them in Merkel!

I always order ahead on the app. The app gives you options to add sauces and obviously I am going to want at least one when I get chicken. The past 4 times I’ve been there the carhops have brought me my order without giving me my dipping sauce THAT I ORDERED ON THEIR APP. I let it go the first two times because they were super busy and I didn’t want to bother them. When I finally do ask about it, they tell me they’re not going to give it to me without me paying for it. IF THE APP OFFERS FREE DIPPING SAUCE WHY AM I BEING TOLD I NEED TO PAY FOR IT?

The food is good and the people are friendly although the service can be rather slow. Come ready to enjoy after a short wait, for things like three simple drinks. Came this morning 8-16 on the way to sweetwater and had to wait after ordering three simple drinks. A lemon water extra ice, and two sweet teas with raspberry and Blackberry. Order was correct but seemed to take a bit too make and they only had three cars at the time. Don't know if it is short staffed or not.
