Needed a place to stay on our way home. Childress never has any rooms available. It was further than we wanted to drive, but we made it. The guy on the phone and at the desk is very hard to understand, but he seemed very nice. The rooms are awesomely quaint, comfortable, cute and affordable, but they are a little dated. Bed was amazing and comfortable. Plenty of parking from compact up to trucks and trailers. Allowed our fur-baby to stay with a deposit (of course).Breakfast in the morning was lacking. You get waffles or cereal. The muffins were toddler sized, and it would've taken a dozen to make even 1 satisfying breakfast. Coffee machine had sign saying we weren't allowed to fill our own travel mugs, and there wasn't enough coffee, cream or sugar in the room to fill the mugs. Had to go find a gas station for our morning pick-me-up and a good breakfast.

This place was horrible!!!!! We tried to get a room we were being evacuated because of wild fires in the panhandle! All they did was try to squeeze every last dollar. . we had children and pets ! I would not recommend this nasty bed bug infested place! And they do have bed bugs beware!!!!!!

A well-maintained, older hotel fronting Route 287. Good value for the money. Big outdoor swimming pool and generously large parking lot. Rooms are clean, secure, and everything works, especially the water heater. Comfortable mattress, sheets, and pillows. In-room microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and color TV. Raj and his team are friendly and responsive. Laundry room, cozy breakfast area, and a guest computer with printer. Complimentary 'make your own' Golden Malted waffles (Texas sized), cold cereal, muffins, milk, coffee, tea, juice available for breakfast. Perfect for travelers towing a trailer and in need of a good night's sleep before continuing their journey. Memphis is a small town, so restaurants and shops close early. However, a nearby 24 hour truck stop has a nice selection of things to eat, both hot and cold.

Got here and Priceline said it was $57, so we went up to the front desk to see if they would honor it. It was the owner, he didn’t. But it was 2am and we couldn’t drive anymore so we didn’t have a choice, he charged us $97 for the night. Here’s why it’s not worth $97, Covers were stained see photos, there dried urine on the toilet and the floor was uneven. The continental breakfast was white bread, cereal and a sad waffle maker. Walls were so thin we could hear our neighbors snoring.Good things: as far as I could tell, there weren’t bed bugs. And I was able to pull off the road and get some sleep safely.

1/8/2024 7pmDiatribe below...I had no choice but to get a room here. A huge tumbleweed took out my Fords cooling system. The car was broken down in Hedley, TX.The tow truck driver wasn't going to take my car to Amarillo, TX as planned, due to serious weather conditions, so he offered to personally take me to Clarendon, TX or here to Memphis, TX.The Choice app showed absolutely nothing in either city. However, the Wyndham app showed this location, so we drove here.I arrived, and the power was out in certain locations of the motel, and fact also prevented the owner from properly renting myself (and another gentleman that arrived after I did) a room. So he just got ate DL info and manually opened our rooms for us. Luckily, the room had power, and the Heating/Cooling system was working.Ok, so the room has dated furniture, and the bedding wasn't the best to look at. I read the reviews and the complaints. Do you think any of the petty complainers gave thought to the fact that they are in town with a population of less than 3000 people. This town is not a destination center.Considering the random income this hard-working owner is trying to wrangle out of this place. I have to give him an A for effort and be thankful that I was able to have a warm bed, heat, and hot water in this 27-degree cold. With a disabled car, 13 miles up US-287 and having had barely one bar of service with ATT & Verizon... I'm thankful.Maybe you can be thankful too. The man is not getting rich off of this place.*Memphis, TX - WikipediaThe median income for a household in the city was $23,102, and for a family was $27,367. Males had a median income of $24,620 versus $18,816 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,856. About 18.5% of families and 23.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 38.2% of those under age 18 and 15.4% of those age 65 or over.

Hotel is OLD....Linen is old, fixtures are old....carpet is old. It's just old...not the cleanest either. Had to ring bell 3 times for service .....rooms more expensive than posted on web. Really disappointed....after 8 hours of traveling was hoping for a CLEAN room at least, but felt the necessity to spray whole room down with disinfectant. Will definitely NOT stay here again.Rooms: Felt the urge to spray disinfect every where!

The owners are lovely people. They were very friendly and welcoming. The beds were pretty good. The room was clean, a little dated but that is expected. The hot water is definitely hot! You won’t be disappointed.

We got our money refunded and left. The furnishings in the room were in disrepair. Bed linens were stained and had holes in them. Crumbs from the last occupant were still on a table, coffee area in the room had clearly not been cleaned in a very long time. The chairs in the room were filthy with stains. The breakfast area next to the front desk held only 2 tables and didn’t look like a place you’d want to eat. The lady at the front desk was nice but seemed to maybe not understand English very well. She returned our money without complaint but somehow seemed very surprised at the condition of the room. Go figure. We were assigned room 110 and that is the only room we saw. Perhaps others are clean??? I doubt it though.

Friendly staff, this place needs some cleaning for sure, the carpet was sticky and filthy, the pillows were flat! There was an upholstered chair that was beyond dirty,But the sheets and linens were clean, it was quiet and was ok for 1 night. Needs updated.

My family was traveling with my 3 year old son who is autistic. This is the longest he’s been away from home and the staff here were simply wonderful. They offered us the Sleepy Bear Den, which is absolutely adorable. They were very kind to my family and even gifted my son a stuffed Sleepy Bear. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality.

This is a great place to stop for the night if you need to stay in the area. It is a little worn and dated, but it covers all the bases you need for a restful night. The price is nice and appropriate for the hotel. My husband and I were in Memphis overnight for a photography job I was doing. It's a perfect place to stay if you want to stay in the vicinity. We were in RM 119, which is a wheelchair access room. Again, the décor is worn an dated but don't let that stop you. The room had everything we needed for our stay. This room has a walk in shower with a large doorway for a wheelchair. It also has a dorm refrigerator, a small microwave, a coffee stand, and a nice TV with plenty of viewing options.I am sure they keep the carpets and floors clean but we wore our flip-flops in the room and in the shower just to be on the safe side. The carpet is a bit dated and worn. Not dreadful but I am a diabetic and want to be careful. You can (obviously) hear some highway noise at night but we always travel with earplugs and that did the trick. There was no other noise. The water was good to drink. The shower has a hand held sprayer and the pressure was a bit thin but again, it was enough and does the trick to get you clean. The owners/proprietors are delightful. So kind and professional. They don't do an actual breakfast but they give you a Breakfast Sack with an apple, Danish, energy bar and muffin. Perfect to start your day!

The clerk at the front desk is having a mentally hard time. My husband walked in to check in with reservation done online through priceline ahead of time. Someone else stepped in behind him and the clerk accused him of bringing that person in with him. Mind you the reservation clearly stated he will be on his own, 1 bed for 1 person. When priceline contacted this sick person he said max allowance for the room is 3 persons. We still can't figure out who are those 3 who were using husbands reservation. I understand you're having issues with someone and you won't let them in, but what does my husband have to do with all of this? Sniffing/drinking on the job will get you here. If that's the owner, then I'm sorry, no respect to customers at all. If that's an employee, then he needs to find a different workplace like yesterday, or go to the doctor. Very shady. Will do all my best to avoid this place! Thankfully Priceline got my money back.

Didn’t expect much considering the low nightly rate, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Extremely nice accommodations. Room met our 2 primary criteria; EVERYTHING clean and a comfortable bed. I slept more soundly and comfortably than i have in much pricier hotels. Other than being a little old fashion for my modern taste, the furnishings were nice, clean and in good condition. . Breakfast was fairly simple but certainly adequate. We noted none of the traffic noise mentioned in other reviews. This place was an unexpected value. We’ll stay here again when in the area.

We were driving back to Dallas from Denver and needed a place to stop for the night. Check in was easy and the owner is incredibly nice and accommodating. We had a king room, non-smoking: I did not smell any smoke! The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was clean! Also, the room was already cold for us when we walked in which is always great. We spent $600 on a hotel for two nights in Denver and the A.C BARELY worked at all. This place had better A.C. We didn’t use any amenities because we got in late and just needed a place to rest. Plenty of channels. Hot water for my bath, thankfully. Free breakfast from 7am to 10am: juices, toast, bagels, cereals, waffles.....If for some reason we ever find ourselves in Memphis needing a place to sleep we will stay here. Very very friendly owner. Also, we had a small camper with us, there is plenty of parking for oversized vehicles and security cameras.

It wasn't exactly the cleanest. But, the desk attendant was nice, bed and pillows were comfortable, great tv and wifi, good water pressure and I felt safe. I think the housekeeper maybe just does the bare minimum. All the table and counter surfaces were clearly wiped down but the toilet had urine under the seat so it definitely wasn't cleaned well and the shower was full of hair. Luckily, because of the pandemic, I had cleaner and it was a quick fix. I probably would stay here again if it was a "right place right time" situation.

I so wished I would have read the reviews. Checked in late 11:00 pm tired from driving. 2 out of 2 rooms had dirty sheets. Literally had been slept on. Both had hair in it. Mgr on dutie said people make “mistakes” hmm not doing a job you are paid to do isn’t a mistake. That is called lazy. We left and back on the road. The pics on the website are even us this particular hotel. Travel lodge should be ashamed. I have never stayed at one and never will. Save some time and keep driving. That wasted 45 min of my travel/sleep time.

Where do i begin, when i got there at 11pm, some drunk dudes were having a party in the parking lot. Loud music, staggering all over the place. Get to my room and the heat did not work. Shower was luke warm. Pulled the top sheet back to find what i can only assume to be blood stains. Lady behind the desk doesnt speak English. And on top of that they made me put down a 50 dollar deposit lol. If this is what wyndim hotels stands behind i might have to rethink where i stay.
