Good place to stop for a burger. Upon entry, the place seemed empty, sign said, "Seat yourself." We sat and waited, but nobody attended us. I had to get up and find an employee. She apologized, didn't here us come in. Ordered two burgers and a patty melt. Food was delightful, to say the least. Restaurant is low-key, but they have enough room to cater to a large group.

This was the best cheeseburger I've ever had in Memphis Texas. But in all seriousness it really was a delicious cheeseburger. I love that they went to the extra effort to grill the bun and you can tell every part of it was handmade from the Patty to the thick slice tomatoes and fresh lettuce. I wish we had a burger place like this at home. She had the chicken fried steak fingers and it was excellent. The service was great the young lady that helped us was super friendly and made some really great recommendations. I wish we had enough room in our tummies left over for pie. It looked great but we couldn't fit anything else in our mouths. If you are driving through town this is the only choice for food in my opinion.

Quaint restaurant in a small town with attentive service and good food. We had their Friday night All You Can Eat Catfish with fries and a salad. I was able to exchange the fries for coleslaw. The catfish was in smaller pieces. Very good.

Haven't even left the restaurant yet and wanted to let everyone who reads reviews know that you will NOT regret spending your time or your money here!! Excellent service.... thank you Janet! Great food! And very quaint. We were fortunate enough to be here with the sun rising just out front as a train went by. We will be back every time our truck is rolling thru as there is adequate big rig parking in the back. So happy to have found this place and taken the time away from the hurried life for a moment...what a treat!!Parking: Hey all you truckers need to make time to stop here!! Plenty of parking!

Parking for big trucks! ++Hubby had steak special. Nothing special. Cube steak and tough. Fries need to be double fried for crispness. They did substitute fried okra for salad, which was excellent and plenty for us to share.I had the fried catfish , which was also good. Came with salad and fries and 2 hush puppies. Hush puppies were perfect! Salad came from a bag and had to ask for dressing. Never seen a dinner salad served on plate with entree. Should serve in separate bowl. We ordered unsweetened tea and was brought sweet tea which was swapped out but no refills offered.Suggest a better steak! This is cattle country after all. Create a signature dinner salad and serve separate. And fry those fries! Keep the okra, fried fish and hush puppies! Kudos there!

A friend of mine and I stopped by here for the first time, their parking lot accommodated 2 semi’s comfortably! The atmosphere when you walk in the door is so comfortable, I had the ribeye steak and eggs for breakfast, almost $14.00, lol Denny’s is $20.00 and no where as good as The Rock Inn Cafe.!!! Our waitress was perfect! She has a fantastic personality.!!! There were some regulars sitting at another table, it felt so homey.!!! I’ll definitely make this a regular stop from here on out, the prices were great, the coffee kept coming and was good.!!! And they are very inviting.!!!

Driving on our way from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Houston, Texas: we were looking for a place to have dinner. I looked on Google, read some reviews, and we stopped at Rock Inn Cafe. We are we glad we did! Thursday nights they have half-price hamburgers and cheeseburgers... and we were tempted. However, we decided to try their chicken fried steak. They were the most delicious and well seasoned chicken fried steaks we’ve ever had. They were served with a tossed salad, home cut french fries, and a delicious bowl of gravy. We were so full from the first portion of the steak that we asked for some slices of bread and condiments to make a sandwich for tomorrow’s lunch. We are looking forward to round two tomorrow. Anyhow, we will be back when traveling this way again.PS: it was fun to drive around their old town Square after dinner. A lot of closed stores but the old buildings were fun and beautiful to look at.

I stop here anytime I have to travel US287. It serves typical Southern comfort food, burgers, CFS, fried chicken, steaks, etc. The food is better than most places along 287.I arrived at 10:45 on a Thursday, and there weren't many people there. The waitress was friendly, and promptly took my drink order. Not wanting anything heavy, I ordered a chicken salad sandwich that came with the typical salty, Ruffle-style chips, no pickle spear. The sandwich was surprisingly good. There was apple, pecans, and celery in the chicken salad. The staff was getting ready for the lunch rush that came for the buffet. It looked good (see pics). As always, I had to get a piece of buttermilk pie. It's made right there, and is in the top 5 of all the places I've found buttermilk pie in the US.

Best place EVER! I got stranded in this town of 2290 people for 7 days. I had to walk a little over half a mile to this gem for food. It is amazing. Home cooked. Super friendly waitresses that after my second visit remembered my name, where I sat and brought me a sweet tea and water. They have a home cooked lunch buffet. Delicious pies. I couldn’t figure out why there were bad reviews, but I figured it out. Sorry Rock Inn, gotta keep it honest for future guests. Everything I had was delicious except the brisket. If you want BBQ, stick to the sausage. If you want home cooked pork chops, chicken fried steak, thick ranch dressing, fried catfish and shrimp, potatoe salad, eggs and bacon, chicken quesadillas, green beans with real bacon in em, dinner rolls, corn bread, bacon cheeseburgers, fries with ranch dressing PERFECTION 😍

Let me just say - both my husband and myself agree the Rock Inn Cafe has some of THE best onion rings we’ve ever had - and folks, as much as I hate to admit it - we eat A LOT of onion rings!! Wish they were closer to home, but then again, maybe it’s a good thing we can’t get our hands on these all the time. Why? Oh, let’s say scale movement, extra lbs, loosen the top button kind of stuff. 😃 but hey, #YOLO Try those tasty, golden, crunchy rings of fried goodness! You won’t be disappointed.

If you are traveling, eat here instead of chain restaurants. Located on Highway 287, don't miss probably the best meal you'll have on your trip. I had the fish tacos and they were absolutely top notch! The service was first class and you won't find a cleaner establishment anywhere.
