We stayed at Totem Pole RV Park for a place to stop on our way to South Padre Island. We called ahead to ensure availability. Scott had a great sense of humor right off the bat. He and Nancy were very friendly and welcoming. We only utilized the RV spot and the dog park. Huge dog park! Very nice park overall.Thank you, Scott and Nancy. If we are ever back in the area, we will be repeat campers.

Great place to stop for the night. Hosts were amazing. They moved us to a bigger site to accommodate our rig and trailer and even came to check that we got set up all right. Quiet even though it is near highway. Good wifi and cell service. We did not use pool or nice laundry facilities. Will definitely stay here again. We stayed in a 45’rv with a trailer and truck.

I have been staying at the totem pole Rv park since August of last year. Scott and Nancy are the best camp hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. They were very friendly and helpful with anything. This is the cleanest and tidiest campground I’ve stayed at in Texas. If in the area again I would absolutely stay again. (My teeth and clothes have never been whiter). lol. Inside joke.

Beautiful views, clean, private, quiet neighbors, clean facilities, the park hosts are super nice and good people. I'm very happy with the stay. The only thing that would take this park to a new level is perhaps picnic tables at every lot. It's truly a gem.

The park itself is very beautiful with lots of grass and little shade trees, but the management is horrible. The managers seemed so nice when we first got there and then we realized shortly that they were very two-faced. Lots of gossip going around in this park about everyone, especially if you voice your concerns about something. We got there the end of May and by July they were dumping bleach in the well water not knowing what they are doing and making me and my family sick, because it was like straight chlorine coming through our water faucets. They said that some inspectors came in and told them that is what they need to be doing to disinfect the water. I have never lived in a place with that much chlorine in the water. I’m sure it was deadly if you drink it. Even showering in it absorbs through your skin into your bloodstream and makes you very sick. And, our skin would smell really bleachy after even washing our hands real quick. The water so bleached filled it actually corroded our bathroom faucet and our shower fixtures and who knows what else. Some of our laundry was ruined from the chlorine bleaching it also and I don’t add bleach to my laundry or clean with it. I don’t like bleach. I actually got to the point where I told my husband to turn the water off and we used gallons of water for everything for days at a time. We couldn’t even shower for a week at a time, because as soon as the water gets better it gets filled with bleach again. Even with a good filter and a pre-filter the water was bad.. I don’t think that they are doing something right, because this shouldn’t be happening. I think you are supposed to be mixing the bleach with water and not using so much bleach for disinfecting the water. Back over the summer I told the managers that I was happy with the park and that I only had a concern about the water and the guy snapped at me. I said “you don’t talk to me like that!” And I walked away. My husband used to go and chit chat with the guy almost everyday and then the managers and some of the neighbors started being stand offish about a month ago. We just ignored it and thought that the problems with the water had gotten a little better, so we stayed for another month. Also, I should mention that every time it rains the park is flooded. We had a little pond in our yard that stays there for days until it dries up. The end of February they did the bleach thing again and I was like that is it let’s find another place to stay. We are so happy that we made this decision!

The park is mostly composed of long term renters. There are travelers on the way to Corpus Christi or back north. Mathis is an adequate town. I can't say enough nice things about this park after staying almost a year. It was a very welcoming park especially since you could always count on the hosts to be out front around 5 waving at you on your way in from work almost daily. The pool is well kept as are the grounds. They have a new lady there that is coordinating activities for the long term RV-ers. I will certainly miss this park and the people. Pet friendly and if I'm not mistaken the better priced than the other parks in the area. The only time the power has gone out was during a storm which affected all of Mathis. Thank you for the great experience.

This is a little hidden gem. I go out every fews weeks to get away from the city and people in general. 🤣 Anyway, I found this place and it's ranked second now in my favorite places. Nice and quiet, the hosts were super nice. I was surprised how level the pads were even though they are not cement. And one thing I didn't see mentioned in other reviews is the wifi. I try and keep my eyes on the news when I'm out and late at night I watch it if I can't sleep. This wifi has been the best at any of the RV parks I have stayed at, even better than the fancy KOAs. Thank you for the stay! I'll be back - pnkdmnd

We stayed for almost a year and it was a pleasant stay. The park hosts are amazing! We were there when the big winter storm hit. I called Mrs. Colleen and they came out in the freezing rain and they took care of it. They are sweet and wonderful people! Never had any issues with the WiFi or cable. We never used the pool or laundry room, but we would see families around the pool area having fun. It’s a gated park, gravel roads, plenty of space between spots, the grass is kept nice and short, no concrete pads for RV and there is a RV repair shop by the entrance(that is where we would buy the propane).

Just stopped in for the night. The host was outside waiting when we pulled in and he was very nice and welcoming. The park is clean and the spaces are level and a good size. It was too cold to use the pool but it looked very inviting. We will definitely stop here again.

This is the third year in a row that my wife and I have stayed at Totem Pole RV park in Mathis Texas. I have to say, that this park has become our new home away from home when visiting our grandkids in CalAllen. The park is well-kept, the pool is inviting, and the camp hosts are incredible. Nancy, in particular, has always gone above and beyond to make our stay a good one. I’ve heard it said that she is available 24 hours a day and I truly believe it. Scott, is also someone who is always ready to make your stay better. Friendly, courteous and both folks are very personable. One of the other things we especially like is that it is a gated park. There’s an additional level of comfort, knowing that only those authorized can drive in and out of the park at night. It’s also very convenient that there is an RV dealership and maintenance facility next to the RV park. Along with that, a propane tank filling station is literally right outside the park gate. It’s located about an hour and a half south of San Antonio so perfect for a day trip to visit the Alamo or Spanish missions or even a night out on the town and the Riverwalk. It’s also about 30 minutes to Corpus Christi with just another few miles to the San Padre Islands. So there’s a lot within reach. I looked at a lot of RV parks in the Corpus Christi area and quite a few were pretty sketchy. I found Totem Pole to meet all of our needs and the space rent was exceptionally reasonable. Half the price of some other RV Parks we stayed in up north. Anyway, just wanted to let other full timers know about the park. I gotta sign off and go babysit some grandkids now :-) Stay Safe, Dan & Dee

We stayed 39 days and had an enjoyable experience. The sites are spaced well and are gravel and grass. They are pet friendly. The host is onsite and is helpful and friendly. This park is 4 miles from Lake Corpus Christi state park and about 30 miles from Corpus Christi. It is far enough away to be quiet and relaxing but easy access from the highway. The amenities include showers, laundry, wi-fi, FHU, dog park, and a pool. Restaurants, grocery, etc. are close.

We stayed 1 night on the way to South Padre. Just off 37. Giant windmills everywhere. Super easy pull thru spaces, picnic tables, lights at each spot for easy night time hookups, full hookups, spacious and clean bathrooms, a pool, and a Rec center. Would definitely recommend. If you're from an area that doesn't have windmills, know that they aren't noisy or bothersome. They are really cool to watch though.

We are currently staying here for work from Mississippi, and would recommend Totem Pole RV to anyone!! 🤩 Park has a beautiful country feel and is very well kept, really feels like home for us! Rain or shine, I have seen Mr. Wayne & Mrs. Colleen riding about checking on tenants and taking care of this park. They are great hosts! 👍🏻😁

In our years of staying in RV parks, I have to say this was by far one of the best! The roads are kept in great shape, I’m pretty certain I saw one of the hosts, Wayne, working on them almost daily. If not the roads, the sites. The grounds are very well maintained, the hosts pick the trash up every single morning from our site, Wayne’s wife, Colleen, the other host, is so friendly. When she is sitting outside she always speaks, waves, etc. If any of us ever have a problem, Colleen is just a phone call away and her and Wayne are all over it! When checking in, Colleen met us and escorted us to our site and handed us the rules and information about the park. While we didn’t use the pool, it is very nice and clean. There is also a clean laundry room and private showers. By the way, it’s also a gated community. If we return to this area, we most certainly will stay here again and we highly recommend this RV park!

Totem pole is by far the best Rv Park I’ve stayed at, not only is it safe with a access code to enter the park but the owners are friendly and helpful throughout my whole stay, they’re willing to help you with your payments. They honor the good Sam deals . It is a dog friendly stay. They offer to pick up the trash, provide us with outside tables , the pool , clean, air conditioned washer and dryer that takes both card and cash. The Rv location is very spacious, has a great open view , amazing space to walk your dogs and ride your bike. I’d say it definitely felt like home away from home with the kindness of the owners and all the availability that was provided.Thank you totem pole for the great stay , definitely would stay here if I’m by corpus again!

We travel in a 45' motorhome that weighs in at about 47,000 lbs so its imperative to find parks that can handle our size. We took a chance with this park because frankly there isn't much in the area to pick from. The owners are helpful and gracious folks that honestly do their level best to provide good service. If your rig is smaller than ours you'll probably do fine. With that said if you're one of the long heavy coaches use caution. The sites are gravel and narrow with trees on each side...maneuverable but tight.

When I was looking for an RV park in South Texas, I knew this was the place after I talked to Colleen on the phone. She was so helpful on the phone, and the rates are so reasonable I knew this was the place. Easy off and on the Interstate, and Howdy RV Sales, service, and store are on site. There is a pool, exercise room, and the cleanest laundry and showers. The sites are roomy, and Wayne and Colleen were always there to answer questions and to make you feel welcome. It's close to Lake Corpus Christi and a short drive to the city. We stayed here for 6 weeks and plan to make this our base when we are in South Texas

This is a very nice campground for what you pay. If you are just looking for a quiet place to rest and sleep, this is it. They have a nice pool that we enjoyed several times during our stay. It's not fancy, but it is a gated campground that has everything you need, including laundry and showers. It has a bonus RV repair shop out front that also has a store for purchasing items you may need for your RV. The customer service is great! Very friendly folks!

Totem Pole RV Park went above and beyond my expectations. Not only was the staff great, but staying at this park saved me some serious money. They have great amenities and they are so close to Corpus. If you ever come by Mathis, make sure to reserve a slip at Totem Pole (plus dogs are welcomed without a fee)!

Ants were terrible, every time it rained even a quarter-inch, the entire park flooded. When I hooked up, I had to use vice grips to turn on the water spicket, that’s after I used my own shovel to uncover it from a foot of silt that had covered it up. And when they were coming to fix it, I told them what tome of day I was at work to make it easier for us to coordinate so I still had water and they replied “we don’t care if you have water or not”. Paid for my last month of lot rent and stayed 8 days of that month, was told I would receive somewhat of a refund, it’s been 2 weeks, and still no refund..... next time, I’ll stay in Corpus Christi........

RV park flooded during every rain and was standing water. The ants were horrible, when we first got there I had to get ant killer for my camper because they got inside my camper. I came with a group for work and everyone got a return on their lot rent except me. We paid rent for a month and 10 days later had to leave for another job

Unlike most rv parks, this one has a club house and actual grass in between spaces. Your spaces are not looming over each other so you do have somewhat of a small "yard" to accompany your space

It's very nice clean and quiet RV Park conveniently located behind an RV service/repair shop. Its only downfall is the location which is a little too far from any decent stores....i.e. Walmart or H-E-B. The closest place you have is Family Dollar.
