Walking in for the first time to this café just gave me a good small cozy town feel, the place looks awesome inside i love the brick walls, and it's nicely decorated to make you feel at home. The gentleman at the counter took our order and cooked our breakfast right there right away. Talk about fresh delicious food. I love Avocado toast but had never had a sweet Avocado toast with strawberries it was so yummy not too sweet just right. And the Quiche was oh so good, i had a little taste of the omlet wich was also very tasty😋 will keep this cafe as one of my favorite breakfast places.

Roast beef poor boy was "a delicious symphony of flavors" according to the bf. Cutest little place to get delicious plates (we split a meat and cheese board)! The cheese selection was so yummy and offered with this delectable honey. I tried the peanut butter and chocolate milkshake and ascended to heaven. The selection for beer and wine is immaculate and so tasty. They offer live bands on the weekends for the surrounding area to enjoy.Don’t miss out on this quaint place for food and drink! They deserve so many patrons as they contribute to the Martindale area!

It was great. Had the pleasure of listening to Sam Downing singer, guitarist, and songwriter.He was awesome. The food is very good. Great place to relax on a Friday night and hear live music.They serve beer and wine also.

The River Cafe is a cool place to hang out, grab a drink, a bite and take in assume love music in a cool, cozy, genuine atmosphere. 9/10 and will definitely be coming back to this spot.

Awesome food!! Annie is a sweetheart! Saw a great band there, Country Willie Edwards and although not a big place there was a nice crowd and the sound was perfect.

Good food and very friendly people with nice live music in a sleepy town. My only comment would be the restaurant was very messy inside and out on the patio when we were there - tables, chairs, and floors were all very dirty/messy and many had dishes that needed cleaning! They probably are a bit understaffed. Overall a nice experience, though!

This is such a cute cafe with very delicious food, and the big outdoor space they have for music has incredible acoustics. Nice beer and wine selection too. It is a perfect place to come spend a weekend day with friends.

Great selection of unique food! Service was quick, friendly and accommodating for our needs! The quality of food is unusually high for being so far from a large population.Their live music is certainly worth an additional 5 stars, as that is an experience all in its own!

This place is awesome! Food is excellent. Staff is friendly. And the bathroom is clean, and decorated with amazing art! Treat yourself and give this place a shot! Brisket sandwich, Ginger Peach Tea, the Reuben. All excellent!

We had the best time here tonight! The cafe is so cute and inviting. We split an awesome cheese plate and my bagel with lox, cream cheese, and capers was delicious. The beer and wine selection was the best and we got to enjoy it all on the patio while the sun set. I am definitely going back for one of those milkshakes!

Great selection of sandwiches and other eats carefully crafted, and the coffee is top notch. Pair that with the small, old, Texas town charm and being right by the San Marcos River and you have a great place for a chill weekend afternoon. Lots of weekend events around and vintage market.

I wandered into this place, ordered a brisket sandwich and a Dr Pepper. $16.50. That’s a lot of money to me. I get the same thing, bigger and better, in Lockhart for less than $11.They don’t seem to have their prices listed on the menu board, or maybe I missed it.And the cook coughed on my sandwich while he was making it. I’m waiting to see how that turns out!

Food was okay, very small portions compared to the price, had a salad with chicken on it for 16$ and had another sandwich which was small portion for 12$.I had to wait 50 minutes to get my food. Probably won’t come back again but just writing this for feedback 😊

Absolutely love this venue. The staff are all amazing, the food is fantastic, the deserts are to die for and the music on friday and Saturday nights is wonderful. There is a laid back comfortable atmosphere that keeps you coming back for more!
