Rick and Lisa were both so gracious when welcoming us to their Great American Alpacas farm. Rick provided a very detailed description on the care it takes to maintain the alpacas and the farm as well as the benefits of raising them. And it showed in just how much love, care, and pride they have for what they do. The experience was very educational, learning about the alpaca fleece/fiber, from the process of collecting it to how and where it ends up in.The Alpacas were all so much fun. Especially that handsome one named Mustang as was Alexander Hamilton and Wyatt Earp! The names of all were just as fun.The gift shop on site had a variety of items that came directly from the fleece of the Alpacas on site. I wanted to come home with a few Alpacas but we settled for a rug.Visits are by appointment only, unless you happen to go on the National Alpaca Farm Day (weekend)!

10/5 would recommend this place! LISA is super friendly and her alpacas (and dogs) we're just as friendly.My friends and I are definitely coming back here when we come back to San Antonio.You get to touch the male and female alpacas as well as her dogs. You will get to learn a lot about alpacas and what she does with their fur. BTW the names she gives her alpacas are on point.(pictured is Alexander Hamilton)Her gift shop has some really great items. My group specifically got a lot of socks since we came in December.

Fantastic information on the world of Alpacas!Great American Alpacas is a wonderful Alpaca farm with many different kinds of Alpacas and owners that are excited to show off their heard. Call ahead to schedule a time and be ready to learn a lot about Alpacas!

We had the best time at Great American Alpacas! Lisa and her husband gave us a wonderful tour of the ranch. The alpacas were so sweet - there were plenty of opportunities to feed, pet, and take pictures. We’ll be back!

Lisa was super nice and welcoming. She gave us a tour of the male and female alpacas, then we were able to feed them, and lastly we were able to purchase items from the alpaca boutique store.Would 100% recommend to people costing San Antonio.

We had such a great time here. The alpacas were absolutely gorgeous. Call to make sure it is okay to visit. The shoe insoles are like walking on air! They also have the most beautiful rugs, sweaters, and more. Thanks for making our visit awesome! Lilly is just a lovebug!

Wonderful people! We visited today to explore alpacas for our own future ventures and the Waltons were so welcoming and knowledgeable. They also had a shop with beautiful alpaca products.
