One of the best dishes I had in 2023!My boyfriend and I were in Marfa for one night before heading into Big Bend, and the Water Stop was actually our backup dinner option. Luckily, our first pick didn’t work out. We ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka and their seasonal soup to share. After one bite of the pasta I was no longer interested in sharing because it was so delicious. I don’t remember if the pasta came with grilled chicken or if I asked for it to be added, but it was juicy, tender and flavorful. The sauce was incredible and the cheese was a lovely texture. The soup was also tasty, but I was consumed by the pasta. This was on December 27, and with only 4 days left in the year, I can confidently say it was one of the best dishes I ate in 2023.The vibes are moody, the restaurant lit by candlelight and heated by a wood-fired stove. Super cozy and chill. They also have patio seating which I imagine would be great for brunch in the sunshine.

The inside of the restaurant is dark so it took me a few movements for my eyes to adjust but when it did I was surprised at how welcoming this place was. They had a Christmas tree up already and the place was heated by an antique wood burning stove. Nicely done.The service and food were on point. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Greeted us with a genuine smile and introduced the menu to us. I ended up getting a green chile cheeseburger and my wife an acorn squash and ginger soup. Our friends ordered an 8 oz steak raw (cooked correctly) and another green chile cheeseburger. The food tasted great and priced right.Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back if we're ever back in Marfa.

Customer service was horrible. Went in to order some food for carry out and the employee would not acknowledge us. The Greek salads were at least $15 but would only fill half of a small bowl, at most, and that was after they supposedly added extra veggies because they ran out of bell peppers. On top of that, the salads were DRENCHED in salad dressing so it was more of a salad soup.

It did take a while for us to get served - we waited 20-30 minutes until someone came and took our order. BUT then the food came very quickly and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The roasted beet appetizer was life changing as was the veggie burger. So good!!!!Vegetarian options: They have some vegetarian soups and salads, appetizers, and you can get a veggie burger substitute

Pretty solid spot. The guacamole needed some help (salt + lime) but was still refreshing in the heat. The standout dish was the spring pasta...out of this world!I believe I've thought about the pasta since the day I had it almost two weeks ago. So, so delicious!Great outdoor patio area and cool space indoors. A bit of a walk from downtown but an easy bike ride.

I ordered the chicken sandwich with coleslaw but it doesn’t give what I thought it would. The fries were mid but the avocado chips were good. They were super busy but the staff was friendly. The burger was good according to my sister and the teriyaki chicken grain bowl was also good.

Coleyworld approved! 💜Love love love! So happy with the food! We were surprised by the freshness of everything considering you’re kinda in the “middle of nowhere” but the food was better than a lot of what we get in Austin. Service was great too!

You have to give this place a try! We stopped in for cocktails and weren't disappointed! Grilled pineapple margarita and a prickly pear ranch water - so good! We didn't eat but saw the burgers and chicken sandwiches coming out of the kitchen - looked huge and delicious! Manuela our waitress was spot on. Next time we're in the area we will stop in for some great food, drinks and hospitality!!

The food was insanely good, and the atmosphere is to die for. Unfortunately, our waitress got everything we ordered wrong except for the can of beer I ordered. 😂They did replace our food quickly, though.Vegetarian options: Black bean burger

Geeat food. We came here twice because most other restaurants in Marfa are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The burgers are delicious, although the fries are a bit too salty. If you want an alternative to American cuisine, try the house salad and freshly made pasta. The strawberry rhubarb pie is a great dessert; unfortunately, they had run out of ice cream. The food itself deserves five stars; I subtract one for the spotty service.

Seriously, the best burgers I’ve had in a very long time. When the menu is literally 3 things you know it’s going to be good. This place did not disappoint. Highly recommend.Parking: Not too many spots, so gotta be a bit lucky and swipe those spots when you can.Kid-friendliness: There were kids running all over the place on the patio. So I guess it’s pretty kid friendly lol

Great food, service, and hoursIt had great food and service. The waitress was kind and very quick. The food was great. We got green chili hamburger for dinner and the spice chicken sandwich which were both flavorful.They had alot of indoor and outdoor seating.It also one of the only places open all week for lunch and dinner.

The Water Stop surprised me at brunch! Great patio and vibe. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the fried chicken sandwich, biscuit and the cashew grain bowl. Our service was attentive but some of our plates were served cold. (Cold fries don’t hit the same.)

Vibes are on point. Smells amazing, service was just perf, so chill, and the food was just absolutely delicious…the kind where you just do a happy food dance. The fries and aioli sauce? I can’t. Also the cocktail glasses feel so good in your hand. One of those places where everything is just right. Cannot wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Have you messed up a pan sauce and added cornstarch to try and thicken it up? That's what they call butternut squash soup. A salad that could've come from a grocery store deli was $25. Service was inattentive at best. A single bathroom for a 100 seat restaurant is also silly. One star for the food being edible, a second for being one of two places open in town that isn't a hotel bar. The other place sells $12 reheated frozen pizzas, and the Water Stop is somehow more disappointing.

I had been looking forward to having lunch here for a few weeks as we were planning our trip to the area. I had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, my friend had the Chicken Sandwich, his son had the Chicken and Waffle, my son had the Cheeseburger with Mac&Cheese. Everybody loved their food, and everything looked and tasted amazing. We sat outside on their patio and it was a beautiful day and was the perfect start to our walk around Marfa.
