Pretty amazing and unique place to visit if or when you are in Marfa.I first was impressed with a contrast between the outer view of the building and the interior of the cafe. It honestly felt like I stepped into another dimension - that’s how much bigger that place looked, all that space inside, out of nowhere!..I also loved it how they combine so many purposes into that one space inside - it’s a coffee shop, it’s an art gallery, a lounge space, a book/esoteric shop.. Simply breathtaking.I enjoyed their heartfelt service, always very personal and warm to each and everyone; they have a very nice list of coffee drinks (and maybe teas too, not sure now.. I was focused on getting my caffeine that morning! 😆).All in all - the owners have done an amazing job of creating this place - a proud reflection of that creative, artistic spirit that is embracing and following you when you are in Marfa.

I love the quiet, relaxed, and tasteful atmosphere this restaurant has. They have great coffee, too! I have eaten the pancakes, which were fluffy and light, served with fresh organic strawberries. The staff is pleasant.Seating options include large tables for sharing with others, indoor and outdoor seating. IThis was my second time at Sentential, and I will return when in Marfa again.

Very very nice cafe with gorgeous architecture and decorations. The vibe is nice inside and outside. I got the butterfly pea tea lemonade and it was good very sour but I added some sweetener. Would come back for coffee or a latte looked very good. They also serve food which we did not try. Would visit again.

First stop every morning for coffee and our favorite lunch spot. The vegan tacos are fresh, with both soft and crunchy textures. They hit the spot especially sitting in the beautiful outdoor courtyard. The vibe is great and the ordering and kitchen service is great.Vegetarian options: Tacos, chips, salsa, guacamole, and coffee were delicious and freshDietary restrictions: Great options for vegan and gluten free needsParking: Open street parking on all sides

Though this place offers incredible atmosphere, great staff and healthy food options..the food is incredibly bland, to the point that’s it’s hard to finish. You may need to bring your own seasonings.. Even the hot sauce is bland and lacks any flavor :( the communication between the kitchen and staff is also limited, most items on the menu were not available when requested

The Sentinel is a beautiful space, with really great interiors and outdoor patio.Too bad the place is run by rude people, food is mediocre served with plastic cutleries and paper coffee cups even for dining in. No music inside at all. Way overpriced merchandise. The experience is simply ruined by the way it is delivered ..

The Spanish Latte was excellent. We came back just for that. The atmosphere was also great. We sat and read a $1 paper and drank coffee. It’s a slow space to sit and enjoy yourself and relax. The breakfast tacos weren’t great and were overpriced for what you get. But still giving 5 stars because the rest of the experience was great.

I don't mind waiting in line, but this one took 35 minutes just to place an order. There were maybe 10 people ahead of me when I arrived, so I'm not sure what the delay was. Once I placed my order, the wait wasn't as long, ~25 minutes, for the eggplant, Fennel, and arugula sandwich. The folks in line were patient and respectful, even the young children. The sandwich sounded delicious. Unfortunately, it was inedible. They literally bathed it in olive oil, to the point the bread was saturated, and there was at least 1/4 cup of standing oil on the paper. I drained the veggies on paper towels and threw the rest away. The Americano was hot, but had no flavor. The interior ambience is nice and there are books and gifts to peruse while you wait, but the food was disappointing.

We went here several times during the weekend for amazing coffee and food! Everyone loved the chicken enchiladas, pozole, and butternut squash tacos!

The Sentinel is a very interesting “one-stop shop” here in Marfa! They sell everything, I even found one of my favourite candle brands here - Na Nin. Food here is also decent, we ordered Barbacoa and sandwich “Italian”, all tasty! Last but not least, they really have some GREAT coffee, worth to give it a try!

This is a coffee shop, bar, restaurant and unique confectionery along with an independent newspaper publisher located in a restored building in downtown Marfa. You can get a Guiness, an espresso and a hand-crafted bandana or leather wallet all in one place, and you're as likely to see a sandal-footed local walk in as you are a murdered-out SUV full of hipsters just arriving off the highway from LA. It feels cool, not pretentious. The Sentinel is a must-stop destination and experience and today is a part of the cultural bedrock that composes up this intriguing and unique, west Texas town. Great spot to stop!

Because the WiFi was not working I had to leave and find working internet elsewhere. Despite that experience, everything else about this place made me want to stay longer. The fact that The Sentinel is also home to the local newspaper adds a layer above and beyond the transactional value of the Cafe to the true nature of community value that drives this place in Marfa.

We stopped here for brunch and it was overall not a wonderful experience. The staff were so apathetic; they couldn't be bothered to stop and take our order when we approached the counter. The food itself was very average and overpriced. We get that the shop and cafe proceeds go to support the newspaper, but you would think that the staff would be more passionate and excited about that mission. Overall, an overpriced, lackluster establishment.

We stopped by this place and my husband was very impressive. Their taco was sooooo good. Cute place and also dog friendly, I’m so glad they can have dog indoor so we don’t have to eat food under the Sun.

Beautiful coffee shop with pastries and some items for sale in Marfa. We had a chai latte (not too sweet and very nicely spiced) and cortado with a pan au chocolat that was so good. Would happily come back
