Lovely atmosphere (& service) with must try fare such as the massive Pistacio Fried Steak smothered in jalepeno gravy! Spending time in the beautiful hotel courtyard outside the restaurant was so refreshing as well. Variable Mexican dish offered each day such as the tenderloin tacos which my husband loved. Elegantly dark interior . . . perfect for a romantic dinner (or just come as you are) with table service or full service at the bar.

Maybe they were short-staffed the day my husband and I stopped for drinks and small plates. It took a loooong time to get our drinks and food. The food was good when it arrived, but by then we had to hurry to get to the MacDonald Observatory for the star party.I had a Moscow Mule. It was served in a copper-clad mug, but it wasn't that great. The courtyard of the El Paisano Hotel, where we were seated, was very nice.

My husband and I have been fans of Jett's Grill and The Hotel Paisano since the early 2000s and we love to stop in occasionally when visiting our daughter in Alpine. We sampled so many dishes here and my favorite was the fried artichoke hearts! So good. We also ate pistachio fried steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes, crab cakes, jalapeno poppers, and the tortilla crusted chicken.

Cheerful and attentive staff took care of us throughout our time there. On a busy Saturday night we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. There's bar-style seating taking up half of the dining room. Small tables take up the rest of the space. Accommodating a large group here would be a challenge. The food was uniquely seasoned. Each dish was served hot and satisfied our appetite.

3 of our party of seven ordered Sweet Tea. When the tea arrived it was unsweetened. After asking, the waitress we were informed sweet tea was unavailable but she would bring us some sugar. This was both surprising and disappointing. At the same time we ordered the non existing sweet tea we ordered an appetizer. Low and behold the maincourse arrived before the appetizer. Once again surprising and disappointing. In fairness I will leave another critique on the food as this is only for the service.

First of all, the food is EXCELLENT. Everything was amazing. Service was as good as it could be with only one to two servers handling the entire place. The server present did an incredible job, but gosh they really are shorthanded currently. A whole lot of places are though, so even though the food took a long time and service was limited, the meal was well worth it. Just make sure you're not in a hurry and you'll enjoy it. That pestachio-crusted chicken fried steak and gravy is unbelievable - one of the best things i ever ate. Asparagus was a little tough and stringy - probably needed to trim the tough ends off, but it was still a great dinner.

The service was quite slow, taking around an hour, but the waitresses were very nice to us, and we weren't in a hurry, so that wasn't a big issue for us. The main problem was the food. The burger my wife ordered was overly salty and had broken pieces instead of a classic patty. It was also quite overcooked. Although it was a decent size, it really wasn't that great. The fries were good but had no salt at all. I had a pork chop, which wasn't too bad, but the smashed potatoes were bland, and the asparagus was overly salty. The staff was nice, so I'm giving 3 stars, but I would only give 2 if I were rating the food alone.

The service was a little behind due to being short handed, but we didn't have to wait exorbitantly too long to be seated or served our food. Their burger was the largest burger I had ever been served. I'm usually let down at restaurants that serve burgers, but this one was a charbroiled beauty, served with all the fixings on the side like it should be. I highly recommend trying it out. 😋

The new manager, Doug, made the entire experience unforgettable. He was so thoughtful and gave the best customer service. He went out of his way to not only greet my friend group, but every other set of dinners. He was very hands on, helping severs bring out food and bus tables. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I got the crab cakes and the sauce that comes with it is the perfect pairing. If you are visiting Marfa, stopping at Jett’s grill is an absolute must!

The silverware had food stuck to it. It was disgusting. The Asadero Chilli Rellenos was very cold and greasy. The rice was bland. The french fries were greasy and had an odd taste. The drinks came after we had just about finished our meals, well not finished but stopped eating…I asked for a lemon wedge and it never came. I asked for a to go cup for the over priced beverage and never got one. When I got to check on it our sever, Sujei, was standing at the entrance of the kitchen talking to two other servers so I went and got the to go cup myself. This experience and quality of the food was disappointing. I love Marfa but will never spend another dine at Jett’s Grill. We left there feeling sick. We never saw any management walking around checking on customers either. Save your money and go someplace else!

I had high hopes for this place. Everything started out well enough. We got our drinks and appetizer fairly quickly. I ordered the signature drink for the hotel, which is the "Chocolate Martini". The drink was good.We waited over 45 minutes for our entrees. The server never checked on us. We asked him how much longer it would be before we got our food. He offered no reason for the delay and didn't seem the least bit concerned. Then, he walked away with my chocolate martini. He never even asked if I was done with it and I had only drank half of it. He apologized for the mistake and offered another, but I didn't want another drink. So he gave us a discount on our bill. When we finally got our food, it was terrible. I had ordered the Mexican plate, which was cheese enchiladas with rice and refried beans. The rice was not spanish rice, but more like a pilaf with almond slivers. My husband had the BBQ Seared pork chop with mashed potatoes and asparagus. He said the BBQ sauce tasted exactly like Kraft BBQ sauce and the Asparagus was over seasoned. Neither one of us finished our meal.In summary, I would not return and I would not recommend this establishment.

Service: Took us atleast an hour and a half to get our food and we only got our water refilled about twice the whole time.Food: The staff wasn’t familiar with the “gluten free diet” and there was a fly in my friends food. Also overpriced and automatic gratuity is the only way they will get a tip out of me.Atmosphere: It’s a white table cloth restaurant and they were playing club music and “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj. Also feels very empty inside and not a good dining experience overall.Go to Margaret’s instead, the food, atmosphere, and service are all far better than Jetts. What happened to this place?

Jett’s Grill- I have to start by saying how much I loved this restaurant. It is worth trying it al least once to check it off the bucket list. The waiter was very nice, helpful, & professional! For dinner, I ordered the Hamburger W\T Blue Cheese & it was wonderful. I loved it sooo much, I highly RECOMMEND this 😍😍! The meal also came with french fries with parmesan cheese. Sooo yum! 😋I had such a great time, I even ordered desert. My sister got the Caesar Salad, I do recommend that. Also the Pistachio Fried Chicken is a house special, I cannot eat it because I am allergic but EVERYBODY loves it!! Come & try this restaurant and dress up, its sets a great mood for a lovely Saturday evening. 5 stars is not enough! They broke my scale! 😊

We find this place open in marfa to go have a dinner. We were sitted at the bar sit and had to wait bartender or server for while to get drink and order to food. This was the only issue but once we got our drinks and food it was pretty worth to wait for. I like their fried steak with jalapeño gravy on and pistachio crumbles. It was so yummy. And cocteils were really good as well.

Wow—this has to be the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Food is fine though nothing special. Our waitress was initially friendly. We ordered our meal and then ordered an extra dish later. We waited nearly an hour for the extra dish which was crazy. After about 45 mins, we asked our waitress if she had any updates. She responded extremely rudely by saying “I don’t know, but I can’t find out if I’m out here answering your questions” or something obnoxious like that. She made it seem like we were wasting her time by asking a lot, while in reality, we had only asked once after literally 45 minutes of waiting for one dish which was completely not unreasonable. There aren’t many other options in Marfa so this place is fine but not ideal.

Food is over priced and over cooked. $28 for steak that was about 1/8 of an inch thick. Overcooked. Chicken overcooked. Only 5 entries to choose. I wanted ice tea at 7pm and they were out didn't't seem to want to make more. Spent $144 to feed 5 people and still had to order pizza after because some of them could not eat their food. Granddaughter who has been waiting tables for years in a larger town even said steak was fake. You would think for the prices it would be worth eating but I will never go again. Eat at DQ it better and more reasonable prices.

Numerous attempts to reach out to manager/supervisor of Jett’s Grill, Carter Rowe, in person, via email and phone has garnered zero response so I'm posting here. As guests of The Hotel Paisano, my mother and I went for a drink at Jett's Grill, 21Nov. We were aware that we’d likely have to wait for service, which is fine, holidays are busy and we understand. What we were not prepared for was the gross lack of management, lack of supervision, lack of awareness and lack of organization. It is glaringly obvious that no one there has been properly trained to perform their jobs effectively or efficiently. Guests were not acknowledged or welcomed, the one bartender was overwhelmed, flustered and negligent in maintaining appropriate sanitary practices. Guests were consistently ignored and made to wait an insanely lengthy amount of time to be acknowledged, seated, and waited on. As a result, many people left. Upon arriving to Jett's, we had to hunt down the hostess/manager(Carter) in order to ask about ordering a drink and she instructed us to the bar. No big deal. While we waited at the bar, the bartender appeared stressed and confused, continually leaving the area unattended for long stretches at a time. We received no acknowledgement, but this being our first night there and our eagerness to experience the atmosphere, we waited. After nearly 45 minutes she finally looked our way and said "you're next, right? I don't know just go with it." We ordered two martinis. Once we finished our first drink, we decided that since the bar had significantly emptied we'd order a last martini, and pay our tab. I returned our empty glasses to the bar because nobody seemed to be picking up guests empty glasses around the restaurant. I ordered another round and stated I'd like to pay my bill. When the new drinks were made she poured them into the used glasses I had brought up (Not a big issue, just laziness and lack of awareness/training?) She then noticed the used toothpick, that had been in one of our mouths at some point, float up in one of the glasses and before I had time to react she grabbed the pair of bar tongs, ones that undoubtedly were going to be in direct contact with other patrons drinks/garnishes, to fish out the used toothpick then placed the tongs back to be used again. Who knows how often something like that happens or what else she may use bar instruments for besides their intended purpose. Completely inappropriate sanitary practices. The couple seated at the bar top next to where I was looked appalled and subsequently left. Unfortunately, the fails just continue. As stated, I had asked for my bill and by this point there were maybe ~5 people at the bar top. I handed my card over as did another couple. The bartender was responsible for closing two tabs. When she brought me the check and card back, it wasn't my card. She had swiped the two cards given to her incorrectly, for the wrong orders. When notified of this she became flustered and disappeared for an extended period of time. She came back with my bill of X dollars and told me she had cancelled the other incorrect bill. I tipped her 8 dollars, appropriate for four drinks. My bank account stills shows that she did, in fact, not cancel the transaction that she made in error and instead seems to have canceled the tip I left, charged me for my four drinks and also went through with charging me for the more expensive bill of another party, which I did not authorize or sign for. It should go without saying how violating it is to have someone misuse your personal finances, regardless of the amount. What happened is theft and is unacceptable. Management, training, communication, and supervision was not at all evident. The fact that no one was ever available to fix the situation with my card despite numerous efforts to reach someone and the fact that I've never been granted the courtesy of any response from anyone at the restaurant, speaks to the level of respect this establishment has for its patrons. This experience has been beyond frustrating and disappointing. Do Better.

The service was slow. Every one in our group (two tables worth) complained about the lack of flavor in the food. The chips left our hands coated in grease. I’ve never experienced that before. Fries were undercooked and greasy. Every person that ordered the chicken fried steak complained that it had no flavor and the sides were cold. They desperately need a light dimmer during dinner service. The lighting was so bright and sterile throughout the dining area that it made the poor dining experience that much more visible.I’m really not sure if this is Hotel Paisano’s call on who operates their restaurant or not, but it desperately needs an overhaul if it’s going to reside in a historic hotel and in a town with plenty of other solid food options.

Our visit to West Texas couldn't have been much better with the exception of the high wind for 2 days straight . Our saving grace was all the wonderful food and drink we experienced, and Jett's Grill led the way . Located in the Hotel Paisano, what a beautiful old setting . Lots of restoration done and doing to an elegant, historical

I ordered the crab cakes this evening and though it was good, it was overpriced! And another thing I noticed was that this restaurant had a limited menu and that told me right there that I will never dine at that restaurant again! They need to either extend their menu or close down their business! The prices are not worth it! It was my first time and my last time tonight!

Came in during their happy hour (2-5). My friend and I ordered their TX poutine and their chicken friend steak. Poutine is tasty. Thick steak fries w/ a jalapeño gravy, shredded bacon, and a roasted jalapeño on top. CFS was delicious - breading was crunchy and not thick. This also had the jalapeño gravy. Mashed potatoes were solid. Green beans were good. I’m not used to balsamic vinaigrette on them, but I liked it.Tasty food. Their beverages - we ordered a prickly pear margarita and I got a vodka soda (take advantage of happy hour - wells are $6 compared to $9). Well made and well balanced.Overall - if you come to Marfa, get some dinner and drinks here! We shared both plates and felt full at the end.
