If you want to treat yourself to a beautiful and luxurious place to stay for the weekend then you will definitely want to visit St.George. My revisit was just as great as the first time and I truly enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and the comfortable beds. I only wish I could bring the whole experience back home with me and somehow decor my house exactly like HSG. The restaurant and bar are conveniently situated in the same building and that’s another reason why I chose and enjoyed about this place. I had a few at the bar and was treated like family by the bar staff. Thanks to the hotel staff for the hospitality and service they provided me and the veterans discount for my stay. 3/20/2024Rooms: A must visit for the experience!Walkability: Post office and galleriesFood & drinks: Restaurant and bar

The rooms are modern and clean. The hotel is perfectly located. The staff is very nice. But for us the standard queen sized bed was small (when used to a king at home) and a very soft mattress (when used to a firmer one). Cappuccino for breakfast made from a coffee pod. Italian wife unhappy. But these are our dislikes not necessarily meant for others.

I will try this once again since last post flopped. Didn't stay at the hotel but did eat at their restaurant, Laventure . A little slow on service, but food and drinks were excellent . Joel was a great server but couldn't make the kitchen go any faster. Sat in the back of the restaurant by their pizza oven. Therefore, you only get 2 stars for atmosphere (called ahead for reservations- punished for a party of 5, I suppose). Food was exceptional. Drinks were very good and original - "Bee's knees cocktail ", Chihuahua Sunset , A bullet for the General are but a few of the delicious drinks. Tenderloin Steak fries ranked in my top 5 , maybe 3 steaks I've ever tasted(I'm 70). Black truffle and mushroom pizza - to die for . Fried chicken breast and a 10 Oz. New York strip finished us off . All very well prepared. Oh yeah, salads were the bomb.

Very responsive staff, very friendly; the food? (GREAT!)St. George Hotel has set the standard, as far as I'm concerned. Our stay was enjoyable, and will be repeated.btw, I never heard the train from the nearby tracks.Food & drinks: Try the pizza; the closest to this quality is found in Sicily (voice of experience).

HSG is in the center of Marfa TX and rightfully so. It has a presence that make you feel like you are being included in an exclusive private party. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and readily available. The rooms are spacious and well designed, and the bed was so comfortable, definitely got some good sleep and needed rest! The pool was a beautiful little hideaway next door to the hotel itself, with a great restaurant. I would recommend it to anyone planning a stay in Marfa!!

Loved our girl’s weekend stay at Hotel St. George. Modern architecture fits beautifully against desert and mountain landscape. Tranquil and comfy rooms provided peace while lively bar is the place to be after dinner. Appreciate that the gift shop has reasonably priced but unique items to remind us of Marfa. Lastly, we had a memorable dinner at La Venture. Delicious!

Such a cool, modern, luxurious place. Convenient to everything in Marfa. Sleek, modern decor that’s still very comfortable. The bar and restaurant are excellent. Make a reservation in the restaurant if it’s a busy night.Rooms: Very modern, but with comfortable beds and nice amenities. No coffee maker unless you ask for one in advance, but they have coffee in the lobby all morning into early afternoon.Nearby activities: In downtown Marfa, an easy walk to the courthouse, restaurants, and shops. A short drive to everything else in town.Safety: The area seems safe, is pretty quiet, and fairly well lit.Walkability: Close to many restaurants and shops in downtown Marfa.Food & drinks: The bar and restaurant are excellent. The rooms also have an excellent variety of snacks and beverages for sale.Noteworthy details: Sleek and modern, but still comfortable and welcoming. Lots of free parking close by.

Our room was wonderful. The pool is so refreshing and in a great setting. Our experience with the staff was good if not excellent. The only negative was the bar. Flat Prosecco, Old fashioned made with orange juice an Mojito made with something other than mojito stuff!! I’m sure that it is hard to find experienced staff in Marfa. I would stay again but drink elsewhere.

Vacation with my husband. We had a beautiful room with a shower and bath tub seperate. It was such a peaceful and tranquil time right before Christmas. We always enjoy being here. The gift shop “Hey I like it here” is named appropriate. We always like the gym-it’s exceptional! Great time!!Safety: Hotel is very safe. Lots of staff around if you need anything.Walkability: On the Main Street. You can walk all over town from here which we enjoy.Noteworthy details: Gym is located half mile away and well worth going. It has EVERYTHING!

Hotel Saint George is one of my favorite stops in West Texas - and more specifically - in Marfa! The rooms are exquisite with some of the most comfiest, coziest beds I have ever slept or lounged around in, and the room set up/layout is perfect for no matter your travel necessities might be. I've traveled through and stayed for both pleasure and work needs. It is a top-notch, classic hotel that provides a great option to glamping or other area spots.Three of my favorite things about HSG are 1) the restaurant & bar, La Venture; 2) the artwork found throughout the building; and 3) the STAFF!LaVenture -From breakfast to brunch to apps at the bar to a full multi-course meal, LV is delicious and fresh. The bar and food menus are both updated seasonally so that no matter when you stop by, something perfect awaits your palate. Most recently, we tried the Caprese Bruschetta, which was taste-filled and the perfect size for the table of four. We also devoured the Steak Frites and a go-to staple - one of the specialty brick-oven pizzas. Of course, while the food is yumola, I must also mention the drinks on the bar menu, too.The quality - price and taste - of options is fantastic, especially in a small town that can often be overpriced. As of my last stay (August 2023), I am loving the Pinto Canyon Mule (sotol) and the new Salsipuedes (mezcal), as well as the rioja wines.Artwork -Do yourself a favor and take a stroll through the lobby and gift shop to check out the artwork hanging. Each room also has its own original pieces! To be in a town that favors art, HSG holds its own and is worth stopping by even if just for a drink and an art peek.Staff -This review would not be justified if I didn't mention the hotel, bar, and restaurant team who takes the already incredible experience a bit further. Every time I walk in, I feel at home. You can tell those who work there are happy to be there as apparent in the hospitality, comraderie, shared stories and enthusiasm, and excitement to interact with you.I will share photos next time (headed back in September). HSG is a Marfa experience you don't want to miss!

A very clean and modern hotel that has everything you need! This is definitely the place to stay in Marfa. Dogs up to 80 lbs are allowed, so we were happy to bring our dog - very pet friendly and he was comfy and happy here! The restaurant and bar are an added bonus! We stopped here when we needed an afternoon snack one day and a late night snack the next!

Had such a wonderful stay! Spacious room, chic and modern decor, very quiet and peaceful, tasteful art selection, great restaurant/bar. The staff were the best part and went above and beyond with their help. Couldn't ask for more. I will definitely be coming back!

I went for breakfast! Great experience. The waitress are very respectful and gentle. The food has a lot of flavor, I had a vegetarian omelette and the Belgian waffles. They are the perfect option if you have a big appetite on a Sunday morning and a good balance between sweet and salty. The price for their dishes is very razonable!

The hotel and food is way overpriced. And the manager Katie is so rude. They charged us for a roll away bed without disclosing the extra cost. We called to ask about it after our stay and they proceeded to put us on hold and pass us around to different people. Finally when Katie spoke with my husband she accused him of yelling and threatened to hang up. They could have easily made this better with a small gesture of kindness but made the choice to lose a customer. In addition, the night we ate dinner the waiter was so overwhelmed we waited 30 minutes for a drink. I look forward to when the St. George is not the only option in Marfa - they are always disappointing and quite frankly have been for years.

After a week long road trip in our camper van, we decided to take a break and book a room with a real bed. Oh my!!! The bed!!! The bed was literally the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. At 46 years old and pregnant I could not have been happier nor slept better. Many many thanks for an incredible stay.Your staff was wonderful as well. Every interaction we had was great. They were very friendly, genuine and helpful. Thanks again!!

New review: second time here at the Saint George and it's as great as it was last time. Clean hotel, low noise level (except for the occasional train), and friendly staff. Pool was great too!Old review: We spent a night at this hotel and we loved it. Front desk employees were friendly, room was clean, and the overall experience was great. Kind of had a quirky vibe to it. Pool and bar food were great as well. Very happy we chose to stay here.

I wish I could leave 10 stars! Whoever is in charge of stocking the rooms is a genius! To us, it's the little things that matter. We travel by car, and stayed in 7 hotels on this trip. Hotel St. George was out last hotel on our trip, and the icing on the cake! The rooms were well stocked with everything we needed, without even asking! Need Q-tips? Look in the bathroom! Want a nightstand on BOTH sides of the bed? Got 'em!! Want to relax in a bath robe and slippers? Do it! The room rates are priced very well for what you get. Now, the restaurant might be a tad over priced, but we instantly forgot about the $$ after putting the food in our mouths! I ordered the pepperoni pizza and my husband ordered the pork chop. That was the quietest he's ever been! 🤣Our every need and request was accomodated without attitude or rudeness. We will most definitely stay here again and again!!Thank you for providing a wonderful place to stay!

Incredibly noisy and staff unhelpful! We paid nearly $400 for the night, a bit of sanctuary on our roadtrip. The pool was a big factor into choosing the hotel, yet as we arrived the pool was closed for a private event and that it only opened at check out time so we would be unable to use it. If we had know this before arriving we would have booked elsewhere. There is a train that runs through the town during the night and will wake you up, but it can’t be helped, what bothered me was the broken fridge that hummed so loudly and shock on and off every hour. Unable to reach the power, we couldn’t turn it off and the staff did not help us. Outside the room down the hallway, you can hear everyone enter and leave their rooms, talking , laughing and their doors slamming as though is was in my room next to me. We also got woken up by our neighbours upstairs stomping around. The place looked nice on the surface, but isn’t a good place to sleep which is really the main purpose of a hotel. Stay elsewhere and don’t waste your money. Such a disappointment. I feel foolish having booked here, not being able to sleep, use the pool and the staff unsympathetic.

Elegant and modern hotel, blah, blah... clean, comfortable, luxurious rooms, yadda, yadda... good food and drinks available later than other local spots, and so on... all that is true and earns this place 5 stars, but the real shining feature is the POOL! Simple yet profound, it feels like a party without being sloppy... so, forget about that Texas shaped one in Houston (actually check it out, it's pretty cool too), Hotel Saint George has the BEST SWIMMING POOL IN TEXAS!

There is no better place to stay in Marfa than the HSG! The hotel is terrific, the rooms super spacious, and the beds extremely comfortable. All complemented by a top notch, attentive staff.Rooms: Probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on.Food & drinks: The food and drinks in the restaurant are dynamite. Definitely want to check out the restaurant during your stay.

Spectacular experience! We only stayed for one night but they couldn’t have been more accommodating, welcoming or conveniently located. Truly this place is an oasis in the desert after spending a few days down at Big Bend. We immediately dropped our bags in the room and headed to the private enclosed heated pool and spa towards sundown. The heated pool with the dedicated bar in a quiet solitude was just what we needed. Room was large and had everything we needed. Loved the Aesop products. Morning fresh scones, bread and great coffee was an unexpected yet fantastic surprise! Lots of lounge chairs for curling up with a book in the lobby and fantastic bar for a late night night cap. Would definitely return!
