Beautiful little garden with nice walking paths and a wide variety of shrubs and trees, many of which are marked for easy identification. Fountains, ponds, and putting green. A good break to let the kids play a bit or stretch your legs taking a break from a drive or a hike. Restroom as well if you need them. Sweet little spot to picnic, too.

An absolute oasis in the heat of summer and gorgeous! Very relaxing to walk through and enjoy the beauty here. A lot of picture opportunities that just don't do this place justice. A lot of care goes into the place and it is obvious. Definitely a place to see.

Beautiful park in the small town of Marathon! Tons of gorgeous birds for the birders to visit. It's a must! There are two ponds. One in the main part of the park to sit around. The other is one the trail and that one allows dogs to swim in. This is a dog friendly park too, they allow them to be off leash. And a beautiful rose garden as well! Such a great surprise in our stay at Marathon.

Went here with family. The well kept regional plants were very cool to look at and on top of that, the wildlife in the gardens was nice to see. I enjoyed sitting down and taking in the scenery.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Would advise caution depending on when you go, there were a lot of wasps out on the trails today (and the back end of a small rabbit lying on the trail. Managed to keep the kids far from it). I will admit, they have the nicest grass I've seen since alaska

I can totally see how people would rent this out for weddings! Perfect for early morning walks to get the blood pumping before the next leg of your road trip. Cool putt putt area with balls and clubs provided.

Beautiful gardens in the desert, well maintained, fountains, interpretive signs, variety of plants and flowers. Plenty of gravel parking, or many walk here from the Gage HotelRestrooms: Clean restrooms near the gardens entranceDog-friendliness: There's a dedicated dog run area at the south (far end) of the gardens, they ask for leash elsewhere but well behaved dogs are usually okay if kept close to their human. My dog just loves the grassy areas here.

We were there are a warm summer morning... Folks were out there pruning the roses. It was a nice start to the day, where we could glimpse some of the desert floura before heading down into Big Bend.

These gardens are world class. The sunset in the garden was beautiful. Don’t miss it. The ocotillo was blooming, the sage and grasses were awesome

Gardens are owned by gage hotel, but are open and free to public. Front few acres are manicured: rose garden, fountains, wedding venue, native xeriscaping, duck pond, etc. Back 20 acres are a jogging trail/dog walk/exercise loop in a mostly undeveloped pasture.

No matter the time of year, this place is a must stop, and must walk, if you're anywhere near Marathon, Texas. It is always amazing and inspiring, and a fantastic way to stretch your legs on the long journey along us-90.

Beautiful little park with birds and bees and butterflies…even in late February! I also noticed a dog run area. Wish I’d had more time there but it was a nice quick stopover while traveling.

Beautiful! It’s tiny, you can easily walk the grounds in 10-15 minutes but absolutely lovely. A little jewel box.

This place is wonderful! Free admission to a wonderful, fragrant garden with various trees, rocks, and water sculptures. The back 20 or so acres is dog friendly (and has a pond they can splash in). Our favorite was the flower garden - you could walk right up to the bees as they drank from the fountain and have not a worry they’d be interested in you. The heady aroma from the flowers is what they seemed to care about!Would definitely return!

Gage Gardens are worth going to. We parked our large RV on the highway near the train yard and walked through the yard with our dog to the park. They have large open spaces where kids and pets alike can run around. There is a very large off leash area in the back with a walking path around it. There are areas to stop and rest while admiring the gardens. There is a very large rose garden which I'm sure is spectacular when in full bloom. There are a couple of water features and even a putting green. Go and relax in their gardens.

Absolutely breathtaking. I wish I had more time to enjoy. The gardens are peaceful and serene. Beautiful trees throughout to soak up the hot sun providing the perfect getaway from the desert heat.Thank you to the groundskeepers for keeping the gardens immaculate. We had chance to speak to one gentleman and he stated how much he loves working at the Gage Gardens, and it shows!

A beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert. Lots of native flora, an English garden, vegetable and herb garden, a putting green, and an off leash dog park surrounded by a 1 mile loop trail. Great place to chill in the shade or even get married. Best of all, it's free!
