I just want to acknowledge Josh and Jeff They took excellent care of a customer. I work at a different store in the same town. Josh and Jeff went above and beyond to make sure this customer was well taken care of, even when the original product was not purchased from their store. Great job. Customer service done right

This is probably the worst hardware store I’ve been to in a long time. After I had just gotten off work I decided to Brows looking for an outlet but I was in the store for five minutes and they come outside and accuse me of stealing and that they had seen me on the cameras and the old heavy set woman with dark short gray hair just started going at me with the worst attitude but they wouldn’t even tell me what I had stole and they made me empty out my little lunch box( only had Doritos and some safty glasses to a brand they don’t have). That’s when they want to apologize and change their story to that someone was complaining?(I was the only one in the store that I could see)I had also noticed that as soon as I entered the store they had called up three people to follow me I find this entire encounter very disappointing and displeasing so I will never recommend this store or will I ever shop here again.

This is the best hardware store in Cedar Creek Lake-area. They truely do look-out for and have the back of their community; but, when it comes down to what you really need – they will refer you to where you can obtain what you need.

Called about a Stihl weed eater. Wayne said they had two in stock. Drove 45 minutes to store. Staff told me they couldn't sell me a Stihl without Wayne. He had left for the day. Come back tomorrow they said. Nope.Edit: Drove to Eliot's Hardware in Mesquite. Maria helped me. She sold me the Stihl FSA 60 I was looking for.

File this one under “Pleasant surprises about moving to Mabank that you never would have expected.” So if you’re coming from the cities (I’m coming from Austin), this is what customer service in a home center type store looks like. Here they don’t just tell you they think whatever you’re looking for might be on aisle whatever, they actually go with you and help you find the things you’re looking for.And they’ve got a pretty broad inventory - there aren’t a lot of goods you can’t find here. I also like that the location hosts a farmers’ market every other Saturday.

Clean store they are just very eager to help. Hard to just wander and see what I did not know I couldn't live without when someone is trying to help me every other aisle. Then again it is not like I want to hunt them down either. Maybe just offer to help every 4 aisle mot every other?

Always friendly staff that is willing to help you find what you need. Prices may be a bit higher, but if you want the personalized attention from staff, go to Groom’s instead of the big box store down the street.

Groom and Son is by far the best hardware store in the area in my opinion. I don't know about everyone else, but while the "big box" stores have their place, I'm at the point my life where I avoid them at all costs as a general rule.Groom and Son is exactly what I want. Great selection like the other place, but THE PEOPLE make the difference! There are people everywhere in there that know where everything is. AND THEY ARE NICE AND GOOD AT THEIR JOBS!!!Figure this our big stores. There is a growing number of us that will pay a few cents more for quality rather than quantity.I mean let's face it, if I spend $100 at the big place and it takes me twice as long to navigate the process of shopping there, why wouldn't I go somewhere else and pay $105 and leave quickly and with a smile on my face rather than an ulcer in my gut. The money is negligible at that point, and nothing that we buy is worth the work that any of us put into the money that we make (which won't change anytime soon).THE PRODUCT ISN'T THE ANSWER!!!PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!It's pretty simple really,Great place.

Went in to look for a pick axe handle which they didn’t have. That’s wasn’t the biggest issue. Walked in and no one asked if I needed help and there I was carrying a broken pick axe.When I got to the right section the employee working that section was talking on the phone with what sounded like a family member.I say this because it was a casual conversation and they were talking about something wrapped around some cheap Chinese piece of something.She looked at me as I stood there for about 5 minutes waiting on her and she remained on the phone.I decided it wasn’t worth waiting on her to even ask if they could order the part.As I left, the young lady leaning on the front counter chewing her gum looked at me and didn’t ask if I had found what I was looking for, just stared.I really don’t expect much more from this business. They’ve never been real friendly but I was hoping with new owners it would be better. Guess not.This store will always be my last resort if I need something.

This place used to be great but it has went down hill big time. The lumber yard is a disaster no matter what time of day. The prices are unbelievably high. It's worth it to drive out of town.

Sad to say but was very happy to find the product I needed compared to Lowe's down the road. I believe Lowe's management is more interest in their bonus than keeping customers stocked on items. Thank you Grooms and Sons for being there with the product I needed.
