Had a great overall experience. Gabriela at the front desk was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions over the phone. Despite our last-minute request, she accommodated our dog for a vet visit. The consultation was thorough, with the vet offering valuable resources and providing exceptional care to our Rottweiler. Prices were also reasonable and the text messaging system is a huge PLUS. Highly recommend!

SOUTHERN HAVEN VET CLINIC LUFKIN WAS AMAZING!!!! I don’t know where to begin except my precious cat of 19+ years needed to be euthanized. We wanted the experience to be quiet and calm. We especially wanted it done at home where she could be in our arms and in her familiar surroundings. DR EMILY CAME TO OUR HOUSE!!!!!!! She and her assistant were professional and so caring. It was like having family there with us! Thank you, @Southernhavenvetclinic for exceeding our hopes for a sweet “home going” for our precious Soggy. Until we see her again in the New Earth…♥️

Dr. Em has always treated us fairly and great concern. Every pet we have brought to her has been treated with great care and with a personal touch. She is the ONLY vet in this area that I have gone to who has messaged or called personally to give updates, encouragement, and even a picture or two with our furbabies in their care. When we had to euthanize our rat because of cancer they showed the utmost sensitivity throughout the process as well as afterward. Who else takes goat selfies!!Recently one of our cats had been injured and provided the best care she could, but our furbaby needs major surgery. She went out of her way to find a good surgeon and work out a affordable price option for us.The only thing I am not always happy about is the price compared to some other vets for certain services. That being said, some of their prices are ALOT less expensive than the another vet clinic in the area who devastated my wallet with sneaky little fees and HUGE down payment requirements.You have to be aware that veterinary services are expensive no matter what. Get insurance, get Care Credit or some other plan. Just because it is an animal doesn't mean the medical supplies and wage costs are any lower than for a human. Shop around, you have that right, just like you would for a human doctor.

I don't know where to begin! Doctor Emily welcomed me and my fur daughter with warmth and consideration. She did an amazing job with managing her pain and distributed her antibiotics with little to no discomfort. She was professional. The whole staff gets a thank you for being kind to us. And as far as payment goes, they worked with us! They even followed up with us to check on her after she was discharged home. They also sent me a lovely picture of my Minnie after she woke up after her surgery. I felt that my Minnie was in good hands. Thank you, Doctor Emily, and the rest of the staff who attended to my fur daughter ❤️

Absolutely stellar care and service from Southern Haven. My family's three dogs, Dez, Jessie and Elsa are exceptionally well cared for each visit. Beatrice was a stray that we took in during our final weeks in East Texas - Southern Haven took very special care of her. The staff is kind and knowledgeable even after we moved away from the area (I needed vax records). I cannot tell you how comfortable we were when we had to board the dogs. Staff and Vets - thank you so much!

Worst vet I have ever had. My puppy had been sick and I went twice because of how bad he was. Emily prescribed him medicines for absolutely nothing for what was wrong with him. All she did was waste time and do the same tests over and over knowing they were negative. Now my puppy has a 50/50 chance of living because all along he needed surgery. Mind you she calls to update while she’s doing surgery. Absolutely unbelievable and poor excuse of a “dr”

Me and my wife are on Social Security Disability and our dogs and cat needed their Rabies Vaccine so we called 2 different times on different days to check the prices for the dogs to be treated. We were told that the vaccine would be 35 dollars for each dog. We made the appointment. Our dogs never went inside the building there and 2 vet assistants techs came outside to obtain the dogs weights and then went back inside to draw up the vaccines. They came back outside and administered the shots to our dogs. The wife went inside to pay the bill and she was told that each dog was billed over 125 dollars. We didn't have that much money and we voiced our disagreement about the charges. After we got home I received a call from the veterinarian office telling me that the extra charges were for a physical exam that our dogs never received and that until the bills were paid in full our dogs would not be able to get any help from the veterinarian. We still have not seen or spoken to the actual vet . How could our dogs received a physical exam when they never entered the building there? Watch this doctor and her office for made up charges and padding your bills from the office!

Southern haven vet, is the very best clinic I’ve been too. I own 22 dogs, most of witch have been rescued from very bad situations. I’ve tried out many vet clinics. First impression on coming here was they genuinely cared for my animal. I feel special every time I walk through that door even though I’m treated just like everyone else. Witch is one of the best qualities this place has. Something else that is so very important to me and I’m sure others is, they do not Nickel and dime you and leave you crippled when you leave all in the name of saving your loved one. They save your loved one and let you leave with your money as well. I’m so great full I found them. I will always bring them every single dog in any condition and leave knowing they did all they could.

This is a former customer. If you will not approve my dogs medicine for Cushings Disease you will refund me $55.50 for her last appointment. That appointment was intended to continue her Trilostane medication approvals which YOU approved. You can’t just not approve my dogs meds for a disease your vet diagnosed because you don’t like my attitude, which is because of the incompetent staff at Southern Haven. I expect a refund for $55.50 and I hope you enjoy the fact that my dog will now suffer because you have hurt feelings.I also find it ironic that you changed online pharmaciesDr.Emily’s staff is incompetent. I can’t tell you how many times I have called during business hours only to get an answering machine. When I order medicine that was prescribed by Dr Emily the staff has only approved partial orders and when that happens I lose my discount for bundling. Now, since I have complained, they have blocked my number and won’t approve medicine for my dog’s Cushing’s Disease. Even worse they never told me. So when I went to purchase meds they declined it because they didn’t like my attitude. My attitude is all about the clinic screwing up my orders for meds or not being able to fill them for a condition that Vet diagnosed. It just sucks. I spent a lot of money in that place. But I guess me expecting good customer service and not getting it makes them not give a damn about your loved pet anymore. So now my dog will die a slow death from Cushing’s Disease because Dr Emily Parker’s staff doesn’t like that I am unhappy with their customer service.I will never go back there ever again.I also witnessed a staff member dragging a dog across the floor with a lead by the neck to get it into the room where they board the large dogs. I’m not just saying that because I’m upset I actually witnessed it. So think twice about this place.Stay away

I take my dog for daycare several days a week. She obviously loves it because she's excited to go and is always happy when I pick her up.The staff is super friendly and they text pictures during the day.The price for daycare is extremely reasonable and buying a package makes it even more so.

I was blessed to find Southern Haven Vet Clinic this week! I had to put my 15 year old Boxer down today. From the moment I called it was a great experience. The young lady that answered the phone was so patient as I cried even trying to make the appointment. She was so kind on the phone. The best customer service I’ve seen in a long time. Today when I got there it must have been the same kind young lady sitting at the desk. The two doctors that came into the room were so soft spoken and kind. As was the young lady that helped me carry Blu’s blanket to the car. The staff is amazing, kind, and caring! Well done and thank you for helping me.

As soon as I contacted the clinic, via phone call. I was about to leave a message and ended up using the text message method which is really awesome and convenient! And got a response within minutes. They were able to see my pet and help me find solutions real quick. I'm just amazed and the time and it took for my dog to be healed! I'm most definitely amazed on how they communicated my dogs status through out the procedure. I will be using them from now going forward. just because it only let's you put a 5 star rating, if I could I would do more!!!!!!! All your staff is professional and amazing. keep up the good work!!!! Forget to mention I was also amazed about the pricing, did not cost me an arm and a leg, which I really appreciate!

Our doggies love Southern Haven. Our Aussie gets so excited that we cannot get him to eat before we leave in the morning & he talks to us all the way there. Staff is great. We love the pics they send to us of our fur babies. It’s great for socializing with other dogs. We feel good about leaving them since we can tell by their actions they like it, too.

Removed one star for affordability and removed a second star for hidden fees & transparency. Great staff and Care. I loved the Provider and clinic however I switched Vet clinics because some service/ treatment I didn’t request was added to each video as a surprise fee. Additionally they would require much too frequent heartworm tests before refilling my flea medications, even when there was never a break between doses which added an extra $45 to flea medication purchases. Nearly every other month I was getting hit with that bill for visit fee and for a new heartworm test to add to the preventatives bill. It added up and was unnecessary so I took our business elsewhere. It was always more than they told me before visits.

I cannot say enough great things about SHVC & doggy daycare! I have taken my puppy since 3mos old for socialization and recently spayed! The best part are pics throughout the day of my dog having a blast, along with follow up texts from Dr. Em after Molly had her surgery! Love this clinic and everything they stand for! 10/10 recommend!

I recently during a severe snow storm in Lufkin was looking for a vet to help with my cat. I called another place but did not answer. I contacted Southern Haven Vet Clinic. It immediately asked my to either leave a voicemail or the ability to text the office which I really liked that. I hung up and automatically got a text from them with an AirVet app link to have a telemedicine appointment. So easy I downloaded the app and had to make an appointment and paid my office visit by googlepay...that isn't automatic. Dr Emily Park contacted me pretty quickly. I gave her the symptoms my pet was having and she prescribed her something. Paid the prescription thru Cash App. And drove by the clinic to pick the prescription. Yes she did request an in office visit soon. It was easy, fast, and very convenient given my situation. This is an amazing vet clinic.

SHVC is literally my saving grace!!! I had a horrible experience at Angelina Angelina Hospital, they diagnosed my 7 month old puppy (Shadow) with a spranged knee because shes been limping,my 8 year old dog (Ranger) with hot spots and allergies... they gave my dogs a lot of meds and they were getting worse even on there check up they told me to keep doing what im doing.... I decided to go to Southern Haven because I didn't know what else to do and right away Emily said that Ranger had a severe skin infection and with shadow she took x-rays and found out that she had a fractured hip. Not a spranged knee... SHVC has helped more in one day then the multiple times I took them to the other. They are amazing and the staff is so kind and so sweet!!! I recommend SHVC 100 percent they truly care about the animals and thier parents

We had a great first visit to Southern Haven. Dr. Emily was prompt, professional and sincerely caring. My dog loved her. She performed needed labs during our visit and gave us a detailed plan (both in print and in an email) on how to begin fixing my dog's issues including diet and grooming. She provided natural remedies, not just a bunch of pharmaceuticals, which aligns with my approach to health care. I highly recommend Southern Haven!

Her license is under Probated Suspension until November 2026.Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners complaint No. 21-415.A follow up to the Owner's reply:I don't recall using any curse words during my phone conversations, but I admit that my crusty old Navy Chief side can surface at times, so it wouldn't be unheard of. However, at the end of the day, they are just words. When I spoke with Catherine, I was firm in expressing my disappointment that Dr. Parker cancelled and rescheduled our 2:00 pm appointment for the next day, rather than pushing it later the same day. When I called back as requested, Kourtney immediately took a hostile position and was not courteous or compassionate in any way. It's important for customer service representatives to handle distraught clients with care and empathy. A little bedside manner goes a long way.Regarding Dr. Parker's license suspension, it's not hard to believe that your friend may not have been completely honest with you about the situation. However, it's important to note that one cannot shift or delegate the management of controlled substances. The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners found enough evidence to issue a punitive action against her. Whether or not she chose to fight the allegations is irrelevant. It's simply the reality of the situation.Their response lacked any kindness or consideration. If they had been willing to find a mutually agreeable solution, we wouldn't be having this conversation. It was their unwillingness to work with us that led to us discovering Dr. Parker's disciplinary action.This situation is a clear illustration of the law of unintended consequence. They created this problem, and now they have to deal with the fallout.I would like to express my extreme disappointment with the services provided by this clinic.As a family, we made the difficult decision to say goodbye to our beloved Pyrenees, who was in the early stages of dementia. We wanted to make sure he was comfortable and surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments. The clinic agreed to perform the house call and prescribed a light sedative to ensure our dog wasn't nervous or scared. I went into the office the day before the appointment to pay, sign forms, and pick up the prescription.We kept our kids home from school and took off work to prepare for the scheduled appointment, which was supposed to take place between 1:30 and 2:30 PM. However, 30 minutes before the appointment and 45 minutes after we gave our dog the medication prescribed, we received a text message saying that they had fallen behind and they would need to reschedule for the following day, they were sorry for the inconvenience. The office is less than a mile from our home. No offer to push the appointment later, she couldn’t be bothered to give us the 30 minutes she committed to, and took payment for.This was a devastating experience for my family, as we had mentally prepared ourselves for our dog's final moments. The lack of professionalism and disregard for our situation is unacceptable. I cannot recommend Southern Haven Vet Clinic based on this experience.Furthermore, I discovered (sadly, after the fact) her license is under probated suspension. Here are several concerning findings of fact from a complaint to her licensure board related to services provided by Emily Parker D.V.M of Lufkin Texas, who holds Texas veterinary license #12594. These findings include1. The provision of prescriptions for staff under the names of their pets,2. Allowing a non-licensed person to perform surgeries on animals,3. Allowing non-licensed employees to perform examinations, administer rabies vaccines and induce anesthesia without appropriate supervision at the clinic,4. Significant variances in the controlled substances inventory,6. Controlled substance storage that did not meet the standard required by state and federal law,7. Patient records that did not include exam notes or medical reasons for medications prescribed.

I highly recommend using Southern Haven Vet Clinic if you're looking for pet boarding or veterinarian services, I just used them while i was at TEEX Fire School this last week and they'd send me updates every morning on my dog Chewy and how much fun she was having with the other dogs during Doggy Day Care. They even gave her a bath before I picked her up with a nice bow around her collar. They are reasonably priced as well, they were about 1/2 the cost of boarding compared to the Odessa area where I live. I can't give them enough high praises.

I have been taking our doggies "Tequila" and "Siggy" to SHVC for nearly 2 years now. They are very good with your pets and will treat them as their own. Tequila, our 15 ½ yr old Chihuahua, passed away about a month ago and they were so sweet to send a sympathy card signed by the entire staff. Losing her has been very rough but we have our 4 yr old GS Siggy to provide love and entertainment. I'm thankful for the staff giving Tequila the care she needed. We continue to take Siggy to SHVC and wouldn't take him anywhere else. They are located at 612 Largent Street just down from the post office but on the opposite side of the street. You can't miss their sign in the front drive.

Dr. Parker is the by far the best Veterinarian in East Texas. You can truly tell how much she cares about ALL of the animals she treats. Her “bedside manner” is incomparable. Southern Haven’s doggy daycare is unlike any other service in the area. My pups get so excited when we pull into their parking lot. They know they’re about to get spoiled and have so much fun playing with other pups. I recommend Southern Haven to anyone looking for a wonderful place for your pets! 10/10 every time.
