We love the SP SPCA! The management, volunteers, and foster families care so much and are working so hard to find wonderful homes for all of their animals.The Facebook page is extremely active, with daily posts about available cats and dogs. The weekly adoption event is well organized, with animals brought in on the day by their foster families. They aren't just kept in cages until they're adopted! They only stay in a crate for the few hours of the Saturday event. The dogs all seem to be well socialized, and the standard of care is clearly very high across the board. I didn't personally engage with any cats, but I expect it's the same great story.The adoption center has a fenced corner inside where you can meet an animal outside of its crate, and there's a separate outdoor play area. The adoption room is boisterous, so these spaces give you a great spot to get to know your new friend(s). Everything is clean and every single person is friendly, caring, and so helpful!We matched with a very sweet dog, filled out a thorough application, and were set up with a one-week home visit before finalizing the adoption. It's a great way to make sure a pet is a good fit for you, and vice-versa! We loved meeting our newest family member here and absolutely recommend the SP SPCA.

2 stars for the good work they do with the animals.No stars for communication or professionalism. Very unorganized, seems like it lacks any kind of leadership.The girls who work at this facility are border-line rude. Dealing with them is never a wonderful experience.

I am a 52 year old business owner with offices in Colorado Springs and Lubbock Texas and have a home in both locations. I lost my best friend and was looking for a new one to be with me 24/7 but the trailer park queens who seem to be in charge were acting like a used car lot versus someone trying to find dogs a new home, I could easily have gone and bought a puppy from a puppy factory but I chose to try to rescue one however they have " concenrns" with me going back and forth. So in short they screwed on re of there animals out of a life of being pampered I would recommend avoiding this place like the plague.

I love SPCA, they're a small operation but I believe they're the best in all of Lubbock. I got my dog from here, and he is absolutely very well trained! If you want to save a dog or a cat this is the place to go!!!Please Don't go to Haven Animal shelter, they refuse to let their animals go and have every excuse to keep them. Plus the conditions are way better at SPCA and exceed any shelter I've been to.

Arrived today looking for a medium dog and Aimee walked in with Hazel. A Pomchi, red headed 2yr old female, very nervous and bewildered by the attention. OMG...we were looking for a lab or retriever and Hazel had other ideas. Tonight she is stretched out on the rug having her best evening...very happy husband, she is not coming back!! Thank you all

Best place with the best people! They do so much for all of the pets that are in their care and do their best to find the best homes for these animals. Truly a great organization. The fosters and volunteers are a vital part of their success as well and all of them are animal lovers that want nothing more than to help as many animals as possible. Adopting an animal is amazing and the SPCA is an amazing place to do just that.

I adopted from SPCA, the dog was difficult to handle and injured me multiple times. I didn't want to return her to SPCA but I signed an agreement with the organization and lived up to my part and returned her Saturday, the people there were very rude to me and my spouse and didn't speak to us .The young man who helped us was kind and very gentle with Mama. I'm very disappointed with the organization and would not recommend it to anyone else.

A little disappointed with this place. I praise the volunteers and there selfless effort but I highly encourage them to make coffee and donuts a secondary priority, particularly when there are good people looking to give a baby a forever home. We have since found a baby.

These people have a true passion for saving animals. The do so much and they don't get paid . Please donate to their cause . The more donated the more animals they can help . Go check them out Saturday 11:00 - 3 :00 . You may find a furry friend to adopt or you may just want to be a foster parent to one.

I rescued three puppies and the Lubbock SPCA promised to give them their shots if I promised to foster them. These puppies were beaten, starved, food aggressive and had fleas and ticks all over them. I did everything they asked. 5 weeks later after about 20 calls they have yet to give the puppies their shots and now Angel the smallest has parvo. They knew I could barely afford to feed them.Not only is Angel's life on the line but her sisters have been exposed and probably not far behind her. I have spent $122 on Angel at the vet that I don't have and all, and I mean ALL of this could have been prevented if they had of followed thru with their promise!!!

I got my own dog from the aspca. He is now a working dog. His name is Dexter. He is my mobility dog who keeps me balanced while I walk, pucks up for me, gets my phone for me when I fall, pulls my slacks off my legs when needed, and provides emotional support when I am having a bad day. He is a rescue from the Odessa shelter and had only two hours to live. He is everything to me as I am everything to him. We go EVERYWHERE TOGETHER!! I highly recommend adopting a dog from the aspca! Go elsewhere. They aren’t helpful after the adoption, if an animal isn’t a good fit be prepared to eat the $150-$200 you spent because they aren’t going to help or listen to whatever you have to say.
